G2 | Speculation Future Abyss Boss? Spoiler

This could just be cope, but does the OGGR leviathan feel a little bit like a placeholder to anyone? The 4 reasons I feel like it is 1) the buildup of robots inside the facility for some reason not leading into a big bad robot (maybe Asst. Manager 2.0), making it feel a tad bit out of place, 2) the abyss is confirmed to be getting an update on the roadmap, 3) the infused ooze being the only current way to upgrade the axe, which has never been locked behind a boss/miniboss ever, and 4) the design of the fight itself isn't great, where the first time around he's ignorable and anticlimactic to the story if you want, but extremely difficult/tedious if you do decide to fight him.

I will say arena he's in is set up to have some interesting stuff, like the bubble boosters and the high platforms, but with a reskinned buffed-up enemy we've already fought makes it feel like there is some wasted potential within this zone. I do understand it's early access and love what's being done with the game, and I don't want this to come off as complaining, but more speculation towards a more interesting and unique event in the future.

100% agree, feels like it should have been a robot boss but maybe they ran out of time to implement it properly so they threw the toe bitter in there real quick. Would explain the boss being tuned the way he is as well.

Orc koi fish and we have to make mini subs to fight it.

Its the gatekeeper currently for the entrance to what supposedly be the next area. Could replace them with a real boss but it's really necessary. They were just introducing the biome mechanics and the fact there's significant potential for large areas that are entirely separate from the park map.

It be cool if there was another area we could be transported too that was a massive open area underground with trees and unique bugs. All kinds of Ominent tech to recreate sunlight synthetically so it looks like you are looking up at the sky, but it is just an illusion.

This woild be a sort of a "hidden world" created by ominent where they did experiments on bugs to try and create a "superbug". With the open area we are allowed to explore being the "failed experiments".

They could easily add buggy powerups (like floaties for orb weaver feet to float and skim across the water, a little jetpack to give a short burst of height for ants, stuff like that). They could just as easily add the ability for players to add skylights to their bases. With the option to alter what the weather looks like when you look through it.

They could add new buggies and add crazy/ridiculous hard bosses. I could go on and on, but I would absolutely love to see that implemented in the game. It would be absolutely epic

I'm actually loving the low gravity alien cave platformer they've got going. Between the toe biter jump and the propulsion vents you've got a totally different feel already from the normal game. I'm hoping for a series of dungeon esque adventures.

And the update is setting up for huge underground raw science areas and outcomes, it's pretty much all an failed experiment filled with super bugs.

Apparently theres a future plan to expand the abyss which is said on the roadmap, although Im wondering if it will replace the pretty obviously placeholder boss we have currently, maybe theres 2 sections to the abyss and we have to revisit after accessing the T4/5 Omni tool areas?

The woozy stuff doesnt make any sense either since you have a diving helmet on. That should def change since its already got enough going on.

The previous axe was locked behind killing mantis'. Thats a miniboss at minimum

I don't think the mantises have been anywhere near miniboss level since I've gotten tier 3 stuff. Most oggrs, black widows, and maybe the termite king are really the only ones I consider for both difficulty and setting, as they're usually confined to their own areas off the beaten path. Mantises are too easily beaten on a whim and are in several spots in the park. There is also an oggr mantis, which I would consider a miniboss, but not the regular ones.

It was the hardest bug to fight back when there wasn’t any tier 3 stuff though

It's for the tier 3 axe though, which wasn't out until the garden update. Not having tier 3 gear while in the garden while there are several options before and in the garden is a bit silly imo
