Any fics where snape realizes how wrong he is about harry and has to work hard to get to a better relationship with him? Because harry still is rightly upset about how he has treated him when he didn’t deserve any of it?

I’ve just joined the Harry Potter fandom and really love Ron and Harry.

I expected them to be a huge pairing, but I discovered that Ronarrycontent is actually quite rare. Why is that? I don't mean to bash other Harry pairings, but I don't understand why Tomarry and Snarry are more popular than the pairing with the character who is Harry's age and the person he loves most in the story. In the original series, Harry truly views Ron as the person he loves and trusts above all others.

Not talking to Ron makes Harry feel lonely and sad in a way he’s never felt before. If Harry were into men. I’m certain he would have fallen for Ron long ago after all, Ron is handsome and smart in the books. And if Ron were a girl, Harry wouldn't have eyes for anyone else.

I disagree with the idea that Ron’s family being poor makes him less appealing after all, Tom and Snape were poor too, yet they are very popular. I can understand the appeal of Drarry, given the age dynamic and Draco's popularity, but I don't get Tomarry or Snarry. Tom is handsome, sure, but Snape? There are just so many issues with those two pairings.

I’m not saying Tomarry and Snarry are the most famous ships. I just mean they are more common than Ronarry in terms of volume.

After all Drarry, Wolfstar, and Jegulus are the three most iconic pairings in the HP fandom of all time.

So, what is the reason Ronarry isn't popular?

And once again, I don't hate Snape or Tom at all in fact. I often pair Snape with characters around his own age. As for Tom, I ship him with Abraxas. I just don't understand why niche pairings have become more popular than the best friends trope. In other fandoms I've been part of, male best friend pairings are hugely popular and frequently shipped together.

I hope everyone can go easy on me, as the translation process can sometimes lead to linguistic clashes, making the phrasing sound much more awkward than I originally intended.

No fanfic I’ve read has ever wrecked me like Antithesis. I crave one like it, the dark components, a heartbreaking reveal, exploration of dark magic, alllll of it. The only other story that’s scratched the itch a bit for me is Evitative.

If an author has deleted their account or abandoned a fic publicly, what is the etiquette on picking it up where it left off.

Obviously giving credit to the OG author on chapters already written is a must, but what else should be taken into consideration?

(Asking because I am sort of obsessed with a fic that was tragically deleted a few years ago and I MAY have written an outline of how it could progress?)

Hi! I’m looking for Harry Potter fanfictions where Harry has a pet or animal companion other than Hedwig.

It can be pretty much anything: a snake, cat, dog, fox, wolf, raven, etc. Magical creatures are also very welcome, such as a phoenix, basilisk, dragon, or any other fantastic creature.

The most important thing is that the animal actually plays a role in the story and the plot. I don’t want it to just be a pet that is occasionally mentioned and then forgotten. It can be Harry’s familiar, companion, protector, friend, or even a magical creature that forms a bond with him.

I’d also really enjoy an intelligent and independent Harry, especially if he thinks for himself and doesn’t blindly follow other characters.

Character bashing doesn’t bother me, including Dumbledore bashing.

Romance is not important and gen fics are absolutely welcome. However, if Harry does have a romantic relationship, I only want M/M pairings (Harry with a male character).

Please no Fem!Harry or female versions of Harry, and no Harry/Female Character pairings.

Hi! I’m looking for a Harry Potter fanfiction that I read a while ago, but I can’t remember the title.

From what I remember, Severus Snape had to take care of both Harry and Draco for some reason. Lucius was an abusive father and I believe he had been in prison/Azkaban and had recently been released.

At one point, during a Hogsmeade weekend, Lucius secretly asked Draco to meet him at the Shrieking Shack. Draco went there alone without telling Harry or Severus. Lucius ended up beating Draco, although I can’t remember exactly why.

Harry eventually found Draco injured and took him back to the hospital wing. When Severus discovered what had happened, he reacted badly toward Harry. If I remember correctly, instead of realizing that Harry had helped Draco, Severus accused Harry of taking too long to bring Draco back/get him help.

I believe Severus was acting as a guardian or parental figure to both Harry and Draco at the time.

Does anyone recognize this fic? I’d really love to find it again!

Hey! I’m writing a Drarry fic, currently around 39,500k words. It’s an eighth-year fic. The main premise revolves around Draco being a siren unknowingly, and his abilities begin affecting Harry in ways neither of them fully understands. A big part of the story deals with agency/consent, identity, guilt, post-war trauma, and the question of how much of what Harry feels is actually his.

I need developmental feedback more-so than proofreading (i.e, characterisation, pacing, emotional logic, whether scenes/relationship developments feel earned, continuity, plot holes, repetition/overwriting, etc.).

The fic is slow-burn and character-focused, with alternating Harry/Draco POVs. I’m still actively writing it, Ideally, I’m looking for a beta reader who’d be open to reading chapters as I write them, but there’s absolutely no expectation to commit to the whole thing immediately. I’d be happy to start by sharing a chapter or two and see whether we’re a good match.

Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts for his eighth year as a different person - smoking weed, rocking old band t-shirts, and frequently waking up in a stranger's bed. He also casually invites his sworn enemy, the boy he spent most of his sixth year stalking around the school corridors, for a smoke. This quickly turns into regular smoking sessions surrounded by the dead of night, the smell of weed, and the weirdly comforting feeling of a blossoming ... something. As the smoke grows thicker and heavier around them, so does Draco's desire for more of this new Harry.
