What the hell was she hanging on to anyway? I can’t seem to see anything.

There’s a hole in the ceiling where something was attached.

Clearly not very well attached.

Edit: longer version. PSA. If you are going to hang from the ceiling, make sure the hook is through a joist. Ideally the weight should be spread across multiple joists, and you will have looked to see if they are big enough for that.

I’d say it was pretty well attached, a chandelier cord isn’t exactly meant to hold a person

u/DETRITUS_TROLL 26d ago

I couldn’t tell if it was wire or not.

Sam Raime should’ve ran with that and Spiderman should’ve had a slipped disc for the rest of the trilogy.

I re-read that just now and I'm sorry, I'll be better

Funnily enough he did hurt his back while filming.

Trauma surgeon here: this guys, is how you break your spine that bad that will, if untreated, end in life long pain and suffering. If not more.

Have a nice day.

Sincerely, your daily dose of fear for becoming paraplegic.

You can just tell with the way she's writhing in pain, back and forth that she's in some kind of shock/agony. ouch.

Also, glad it wasn't on the poor dog.

So... you haven't been to Onlycorgis?

u/McRib_Warrior 26d ago

She posted another video showing everyone she’s walking fine but she said she’s “doing better today than she was tomorrow” she caught her slip up but that made me worry

Does anyone leave a broken spine untreated?

7

u/Potato-baby 26d ago

Boomers probably if it was somehow a fracture that they could just work through the pain with. My grandpa spent the last 30 years of his life with one of his ribs poking through his lung because he had a pile of heavy building material fall on him (he worked in construction his whole life). He spent like two weeks in the ER but the doctors said they could operate to remove his rib from his lung but it somehow wasn’t giving him breathing problems, so they left it up to him and he decided to just play through the pain the rest of his life and returned to construction until he finally retired and then passed lol.

American medical care system enters the room.

u/Specific_Buy 25d ago

Yes. I had a guy in the military broke his spine wearing a weighted vest. 3 weeks later we found out he fractured his spine and i fractured my foot on the same run.

u/DaHerv 26d ago edited 26d ago

Yes! Did that on a thick mattress, and even then it fucking sucked.

4

u/Plixo2 26d ago

Can you explain, why when someone falls on their back and can't breath, why raising the arms can help you breathe

2

u/Ryuj123 25d ago

This particular post actually doesn’t worry me because I don’t have any situations in which I’m hanging upside down from the ceiling…

But yes, otherwise it’s painfully clear how close any of us is to a life changing event

You’re inability to put a coherent sentence together while being a surgeon is frightening. Holy fucking terrible grammar. And yeah no shit landing on your head may break your neck, literally no doctor needed for that bit of common sense.

Do trauma surgeons not have to pass English classes?

is how you break your spine that bad that will,

Because you wrote it terribly.

2

u/Sialorphin 9d ago

Of course, but sometimes I translate German sentences word for word that are then grammatically incorrect in other languages. I speak French, Spanish, Russian, and Italian. How many languages do you speak?

She's gonna recover from this thinking she's invincible.

Then in about 5 to 10 years she's gonna feel it every time she sits for too long and she'll just think she's getting old.

Since she recorded and uploaded this for the world to see maybe she'll remember why her back hurts when it gets cold.

u/degjo 26d ago

That Corgi could've gotten the worst of it.

1

u/Ollymid2 22d ago

Corgi’s actually come over to see what the stupid human has done to themselves

18

u/savemoney_god 26d ago

Good thing she tucked her head in before she hit the ground

15

u/Gangleri_Graybeard 26d ago

Damn. She's lucky that she's not paralyzed for the rest of her life.

u/Byde99 26d ago

Natural selection hard at work again

u/Michami135 26d ago

Dog: You ok? Anything I can do to help? I'll just sit here and breath in your face until you need me.

5

u/EltheFinn 26d ago

Now I see a real example of pain roll on the floor. This might lead us to understand football players rolling in all matches

6

u/i_Cant_get_right 26d ago

Dog is so tired of this bullshit

u/NervousHovercraft 26d ago

Next time use this:

3

u/DaCarolinaKidd 26d ago

Good thing she tucked her chin

3

u/abhorrentbm 25d ago

I love how a dog always pops in to see if the person is ok.

2

u/Upvotespoodles 26d ago

I don’t understand how her neck isn’t broken.

2

u/W1shfulSinking 25d ago

What an idiot lmaoo

2

u/N7LP400 25d ago

She did it a little too well

2

u/juswilli 25d ago

So lucky they didn't break their neck.

2

u/Specific_Buy 25d ago

Wtf did you hang upside down without a mattress beneath you or something.

2

u/BrazilBazil 25d ago

Wow, what a way to nearly cripple yourself for life

2

u/Geruvah 24d ago

She’s gonna feel that in her 30’s.

1

u/R4GEQUITT3R 25d ago

I was just glad to see that she was still able to sit up

1

u/TotalWasteman 24d ago

Why is that dickhead talking over it?

1

u/ANG13OK 24d ago

I fell like this while doing a headstand once. I couldn't move for a few seconds, then I just got up and walked away
