So I decided I wanted to color my hair for the first time in years and I wanted to do a balayage on my dark hair. I sent my stylist these photos for reference of color and the last two photos are what i got…now here I am freaking out over this damn balayage. Am I tripping or is this NOT the color I was wanting? Like yeah there are some red undertones but this is just orange!! I’m literally crying over this and the fact i spent $550 for this!!! What can I do to make this better??? I would at least like to tone down the orange or make it darker something!!! Please help!! Im literally having a breakdown.

Everytime i brush my hair it never wants to stay in place. i just want to have my hair cover my forehead, but it does this after walking around around. why won't it stay?? 😭

I dyed my hair for the first time using Revlon ColorSilk in Cherry Red (last 2 images). My natural hair is really dark brown (similar to first image), and I followed the instructions exactly.

I was aiming for a dark cherry cola / wine-red color (second image was my reference), and the image on the box made it look like it would give dark hair a noticeable red tint. Instead, I ended up with orange-ish patches mostly on the top of my head and my bangs, while basically the rest of my hair looks exactly the same. There are a few random patchy orange areas here and there, but that's pretty much it.

I'm honestly so upset because this was my first time ever dyeing my hair, and I was really excited for the cherry-cola color 😭. I wasn't expecting it to turn bright red or anything, but I definitely expected more than a few random orange patches.

I genuinely thought I did everything correctly, so I'm wondering what happened. Is this just because my hair was too dark for the dye to show up evenly? And is there any way to eventually get the dark cherry-cola color I wanted without bleaching, or is that unrealistic with my starting hair color?

Also, how long should I wait before trying anything else? I don't want to completely mess up my hair after just dyeing it for the first time.

i used to be very blonde as a child (4th pic) and was that way until i was about 12-13. now i have this color. some people tell me it’s brown and some say blonde. the lower part of my hair is dyed, so this is just my roots

Am I being a drama queen and 100% overreacting? Yes.

But genuinely I need help. Im probably doing something wrong and Id love advice on how to make brushing my hair less evil.

Im gonna write my hair brushing routine so you can tell me Im stupid and doing everything wrong and how to fix it now.

I have long straight-wavy hair. 50+ cm. I only brush it straight after the shower. after I use shampoo and conditioner on it. I use some leave in conditioner before I start brushing. I try to start from my ends and work my way up. Then I brush it all back so its away from my face and I can do skincare.

Its such a tangled mess and takes 20 - 30 minutes to get it done. I have so much hair on my brush by the time Im finished and Im worried its more than there should be.

So, before i turned 3 or 4, i had very blonde and curly hair. Then my hair turned straight and dark brown(almost black from distance) for some reason and at 14 my hair started curling again. i wanted to know if it’s possible that my hair will go blonde again? I’m asking this because my hair is surely lighter than it was 1-2 years ago.

I know people have asked this before but i have a different set of circumstances than i can find on search

I dyed my hair one time 9 months ago with black box dye. Its faded to essentially my natural color which is a medium chocolate brown. I want to go a very light blonde. Is there any chance i wont have to deal with the crazy red/orange undertones since its been a while and it was just one box or should i prepare myself to look crazy for a week or two lol if i do have to look crazy, is there any toner i can put on my hair to lessen the blow when its orange or do i just have to cope?

Edit: im doing it at home, i already have the bleach and developer and a toner but the toner is t-18 so that wont do anything if its orange (i think)

I’m desperate for answers here. My hair REFUSES to curl even when I’m using my curling iron, it always ends up like the pictures shown here, all straw like and dry.

I’ve only ever dyed my hair (no bleach, it was a slow gradual process over a few months with Wella dye and a 20 vol developer) and i take care to not wash it every day.

As I’m done with my curl routine, I set it after with a texture spray bc I’ve heard it works the same but provides softer results than a hairspray - we have birds, so I can’t use hairspray. The temp i use is usually 280F, the lowest on my curling iron, i tried holding the hair for longer but it just won’t take no matter what. I also use heat protectant before each curl session.

If anyone has any clue on what I’m doing wrong/recommendations for an olaplex routine, please let me know, I really appreciate it and would like to not look like I just got electrocuted anymore.

This is what my hair looks like after showering and id honestly love to have this as a permanent look. Anybody knows how to do this?

Hey everyone. Wanted to ask for help because my hair is something that means quite a lot to me. I’ve always wanted really long hair and I have it now, but sadly it seems that I’m starting to bald at the top of my head prominently, though it’s only really noticeable when wet. Is this fixable? Should I shave it all off/go bald? I’m scared I don’t want a massive bald spot on the top of my head after I’ve for so long wanted nice long hair..

This mohawk-ish thing is...not me. I can't push it to the side because someone said I look like a nerdy teen boy. But pushing it forward is just bad too. It's too short to get trimmed to a different shape but this just makes my face look....exposed.

Hello! I've had long hair for about four years now, when I first grew my hair out from ages 16-18, it was all very thick and in old pictures it looks much fuller and more uniform. Sometime in the past two years, the hairs on the front top of my head have changed to become much thinner/finer. I do not have a receding hairline, but the texture of that front hair has definitely changed while the ones further back have mostly stayed the same. My hair is naturally curly, but the ones at the front stay more strait now due to their texture. The main issue this causes is that my hair no longer looks as full, uniform, or cohesive. The front hairs are a much brighter blond, looks like there's less or they're more see through if that makes sense, and they separate to create different rogue strands rather than being one continuous curtain of hair.

I really love the way my hair looks in that first picture and want to cut my hair a bit and go for something like that, but I doubt it'll look the same because of my current texture issues. I know going from your teens to early twenties your hair's texture can change completely naturally due to hormonal changes. But I really miss that look of fuller/more uniform hair and want to see if there's a way to achieve it again.

Should I go lighter or darker, bangs or no bangs, chop or stay long?
Trying to figure out what’s better for my skin tone and face shape. I typically don’t use heat on my hair and it hold color really well as I typically only get highlights every few years.

After having my last child 30 years ago, my hair started coming in wavy/ curly. I have also lost a lot of hair over the years. I don't color it, I use a flat iron occasionally.

I have to use hair oil or finishing cream after I dry my hair because, to me, it's like cotton candy. There is no weight to my hair. It is a little past my shoulders.

So many products say, won't weigh your hair down. I need weight.

What products should I try?

After being conditioned into thinking curly hair was ugly/messy/the “before” in every coming-of-age movie all my life, I finally took the plunge to embrace my natural texture last year. I’m starting to love it more and more and I’ll probably never go back!

I have been finding these super thick kinky hairs for a few years now and I’m so confused about why this happens. The second photo is my hair naturally, very straight, but every now and then I find the curly ones. They feel like Afro hair texture. If anyone knows what causes this or how to stop it I’d appreciate the advice 💕

How come my hair underneath has ringlets but my hair on top and close to face is just beach waves? 😑 why does this happen? I wish it was curlier all over! Is there anyway to help with this? Or do I just have to get over it? Sometimes I feel like it looks messy because the curl pattern is so uneven.

Throughout the day I catch myself admiring the curls underneath and think how pretty they are, but nobody hardly ever gets to seem them. 😓
