A trial edit of 2 minutes will be required from shortlisted editor.

I’m currently looking for an editor to get clips from active streams or vods so I can start posting short form content to gain some exposure. I am a gaming streamer who streams a variety of games. I eventually want to end up editing full vods and making YouTube videos but thats later down the line.

I would much rather pay an editor then use an AI tool and I want to be able to pay well but I’m still in the early stages of my channel and don’t have a ton of revenue from the streams yet. I have no hard set requirements of # of clips per day/stream. I also cannot guarantee X amount of dollars per month yet either but I want to be able to.

I know I’m asking for time and resources and not guaranteeing anything but I would at least like to have a conversation with anyone that is interested to see if we can work something out that is worth while for your services.

I've been streaming for a few months and have seen some very strong signals for brand viability. My issue right now is discovery.
I do not have the time to edit great content for YouTube and other platforms, so I'd like to pay someone to put it together for me.

The workflow would essentially go like this: I stream 3-5 hours every Monday, Tuesday, and sometimes Wednesday, for a total of 6-15 hours of raw footage a week.
I will then cut that down as much as possible, removing the boring stuff. This will bring the footage down to maybe 15 minutes to 2 hours for the week.
I would ideally like to see at least one long form video (5-15 minutes) every two weeks, and at least two shorts every week, using this condensed footage.
I will send you a note pad along with the footage, which will include timestamps and my ideas about the video direction, from cuts to filters to memes. This part is extremely important to me, I need to trust that my editor can meaningfully elevate the content.
As a reference, you can check out VideoGameDunkey and GameGrumps to see the sort of style I'm going for. Some videos will be Let's Plays with voiceover work or chat interaction, while other videos will be humorous commentaries and reviews.

I've included a link to my YouTube channel, which only has a couple videos, one from an editor and one I put together myself, from the same 2 hours of raw footage using the same timestamps.
I think mine is better by a considerable margin in terms of humor and personality, but I do think the editor's version has better pacing. The editor didn't understand my sense of humor, didn't take my notes into account, and didn't really highlight the key points I was looking for. It honestly feels extremely low-effort and generic. I would need my editor to be able to add extra memes, clips, and text that would reward a viewer for paying attention to the video, similar to what I did in my version. I also have a few shorts up there so you can get an idea for my style, however those were all made while learning editing on the fly, so they should be of lower quality than anything you'll deliver.

I think that, considering the editor won't have to hunt for highlights or try to guess my intent, it would be reasonable to offer around $150-$300 per long-form and around $20-40 per short. As I said, I'm very new to this so if I'm off base here, let me know. If you can make great thumbnails I'd pay you for those as well, somewhere in the range of $30-$60 per long-form thumbnail IF you actually understand psychology and visual hooks. Otherwise I will outsource that to someone else.

Also, as I'm hoping for the editor to be transformative, I'm more than happy to look at performance-based bonuses or a profit sharing model once the channel is monetized.
