Housing when you're low income
I find myself stuck in a precarious situation. The home I'm currently in is going to be sold to the Hasidic community, and the owner and I had a comfortable rent situation worked out that worked within my means to rent 1 room in his house for roughly 800 a month.
I'll be real, my take home isn't great but I've been trying to find better paying work and a new place to live and even roommates for a new place and I feel like I'm about to start living out of my car.
I have a varied background in hospitality, retail, call center and tech support and logistics warehouse operation and I can't find places hiring that would be sustainable for the wages offered.
I've tried finding roommates and most ghost me, I am endeavoring to take online classes to expand my job prospects.
There are no gaps in my resume, I'm currently gainfully employed in new Windsor for many years but I can't find a place to live.
If anyone knows of anyone hiring for an actual living wage, or has a room for rent or is looking for roommates within 45 minutes of new Windsor I'm nearing the end of my rope.
I feel punished for being low income, and yet I'm stuck in a situation where I'm too poor to move and too.poor to stay.
Is there any hope?
