Help & Questions Hub Pro added three buttons to Google Home overnight without interaction

see attached screenshots. I have four dimmer switches, one dial and eight wall modules connected to this Hub so I have no idea what these 3 buttons are supposed to represent. It also never previously exposed Hue accessories for use in Google Home for other products in that ecosystem so I have no idea what's going on. Is this new functionality about to be announced or has anyone else experienced this?

Help & Questions Wall Switch Module + Zone conflicts, random unpairing, and Natural Light scene sync questions

Hey guys, I’m new to the Hue system, coming from IKEA Trådfri, which I’ve since returned. Running into a few issues and hoping the community can help.

Setup: Bridge Pro, 12x GU10 color spots, 2x E27 bulbs, controlled via Wall Switch Modules (one per Room). No Alexa/other hub, pure Hue app. Everything’s on the latest firmware.

1. Natural Light + Zones conflict with Wall Switch Modules
Each Room’s Wall Switch Module is set to the Natural Light scene, but I don’t want to configure the same schedule 12 times. Grouping Rooms into a Zone to share one schedule broke the switches’ per-Room targeting. Is there a way to sync a Natural Light schedule across Rooms without merging into a Zone? And after a manual override via the switch, does the light resume Natural Light later, or stay frozen?

2. Wall Switch Module keeps losing its paired lights
The lights assigned to a module in its settings randomly reset to empty and I have to re-pair them. Not a firmware issue — everything’s current. Anyone else seen this, and what caused/fixed it?

3. Scene edits don’t propagate, and “Copy to…” seems unavailable for Natural Light
Copying a scene to other Rooms looks like a one-time copy, not a live link — editing the original doesn’t seem to update the copies. Also, “Copy to…” doesn’t appear to be an option for the Natural Light scene specifically. Manually adjusting the natural light scene per room seems like a really big hassle…

Help & Questions Multiple Lightstrip Power Adapter

Hey everyone,

Is there a power adapter that can power 3 Flux light strips at once? I have 3 OmniGlow light strips that all terminate in one spot and another spot were 2 Flux lightships terminate. It would be nice to not have to take up 5 individual outlets. I saw the ones for the play bars but wasn’t sure if they would work.

Hi I am trying to fit a strip light up the side of my head board over the top and down the other side. However as seen in the pics, it sticks out at the 90° bends on each corner.

Any recommendations to get around this? Any help would be much appreciated TIA

After a brief appearance in a video from Capital Markets Day, a Canadian retailer has now accidentally confirmed the Hue Liane 360 Rope Light. It’s a flexible light tube that glows in all directions and can be installed almost anywhere.

The Rope Light is expected to be available in the EU starting September 3.

Help & Questions Boosting/cleaning digital signal on Hue strips

I have some hardwired accent led strips in a built in bookshelf (4 x 1M strips) that are failing. They are old DALS analog RGBW (5 pin connections, 24ga ribbon wire) that appear to be wired in parallel, home run to a single controller.

Can I substitute a Hue Flux digital RGB strip (since it is 4 pin). I can cut the 5m Flux into 4 strips and wire it manually. I don’t mind if all the 4 strips have mirrored light patterns. There will be 2-3 meters of wire from the controller to the start of each strip. I have rad that the 5V data signal wire may degrade with this setup.

Is there any way to mitigate this ? I know there are digital “boosters” available but apparently the ones out there (ex BTF SP901E) follow a different digital protocol (SPi) that will not work with Hue ecosystem. I have heard about inserting resistors after the controller to improve signal.

Any ideas to swap out these strips to Hue digital (so I can tune the white channel) without rewiring ?

Discussion Upcoming Hue Product Announcements at IFA

I'm a long time Hue customer with a large investment. While I'm excited about hearing about all the new upcoming products this week, I'm trying to keep my expectations muted. The reason for this is that I live in North America. Last year I was excited about the Flux Ultra Bright and the Omniglow. I understand that these products launch first in Europe (last fall), but they were supposed to come to North America in March of this year. That launch was cancelled with no reason or update. It's now been a year and the Flux Ultra Bright and the Omniglow at lengths of 5m and 10m are nowhere to be seen and there is no ETA. So when all these new products are announced this week, I don't know when, if ever, I'll be able to purchase them. Has anyone heard of a reason for this long delay? I can see a few months, but a year with no update, seems very odd.

Hue Setup New Bridge Pro worth every cent

I set up my new Bridge Pro yesterday. I’d put off pulling the pin on it because I’d seen mixed reviews here and couldn’t be bothered with the hassle if the migration from my old Bridge didn’t work properly. But it went on sale, and like all Hue fans, I cannot resist 20 percent off a bulb or two.

The result: holy shit. It’s better than I expected. I was largely interested in Spatial Aware. I haven’t even mapped my house in AR yet and the colours are already better. I don’t quite know how to describe it, except to say that they’re… less brash? More sophisticated? I don’t quite have the words to articulate it, but I’m loving it.

I haven’t tried setting up Motion Aware but TBH it really seems like a bit of a gimmick when you already have motion sensors.

Highly recommend the Bridge Pro, although it would be an absolute pain in the 🍑 if it didn’t migrate properly, especially if you have a lot of bulbs and devices attached.

Native TV App Syncing

I have a Sony Bravia (A80k), with native google TV. I stream everything through the native TV OS itself.

How can i get this to sync with Phillips Hue? I rly dont want to get another box (and remote) and stream that way, if I already have it on the TV

Is there an app, and does it actually work? I mainly watch youtube TV, and youtube.

Also, I stream moviebox off my phone onto the TV, can I get that to work with Hue as well?

Has anyone tried these GU10 bulbs?

Post image
26 Upvotes

Need to replace a bunch of the GU10 bulbs. They’re so expensive now for the Gen 2 ones. About $200AUD for three. Has anyone tried these that are available on Amazon. They’re half the price for 4. I know they’re not as bright at only around 350 lumens. But considering I have to change a buy h was wondering if this is a better alternative. They’re only $75 for 4 on Amazon.

Help & Questions Can't find cheap E14 white and colour bulbs for the ecosystem. Best options? Help!?

I have recently bought 2 side lamps that require E14 bulbs.
Is the E14 LED white and colour bulb the only one I can buy that works with the Hue app?

Seems very expensive at £50 for one small bulb.
My bigger lights in my room use the Hue Essential range, and managed to snap up an E14 white and colour bulb for cheap 2nd hand a while back (but these are rare to come by).

Do I have any other options?

I prefer white and colour bulb as as the warm lower kelvin (and rgb's) are more cosy than just a white bulb kelvin.

Thanks!

Help & Questions Does Anyone Know How To Fix This?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I bought the 91ft Festavia Globe string lights last year and set them up around my back yard. And they've been working perfectly until 2 weeks ago.

I have an automation that turns the lights on every night until sunrise but 2 weeks ago I noticed that instead of turning on how they usually would, they would flash instead whenever they were powered and not respond to the app at all. After leaving them unplugged for a few hours they would return to normal. Until a few days ago. Now, only the first two lights turn on at all.

I did notice some water in the first 3 bulbs and unscrewed them, and shook the water out. There was some corrosion on the metal pins but I used a brush to clean them and reinserted them back into the socket (there is no visible corrosion on the contacts in the sockets themselves from what I can tell) and that seemed to work for 1 night before only the first two working again.

I bought a couple replacement bulbs from Hue and swapped the ones that had water in them but still only the first two bulbs would turn on. I don't see any external damage to the cord between the 2nd and 3rd bulbs, nor to the sockets themselves.

I already reached out to Hue about the situation and they did send me a replacement (much appreciated). I'm just trying to see if anyone else has ever encountered this and fixed it before going through the hassle of taking down the existing lights and installling the new ones 😅

Help & Questions Difference between Hue “classic” and Hue “Chromasync”

Been a while since I purchased some hue bulbs. Picked up some new lamps and plan to pick up some 75W Hue Bulbs. I noticed there are “classic” and “chromasync” options but I can’t really tell the difference. I presume Chromasync is newer (and pricier) but not sure if they are worth the extra cost compared to the classics? All my other hue products are classics so probably better just to pick up more of those?

Is there a way for Hue smart button to work with non hue lights?

I switched from iOS to android and can't seem to get this button to be added to Google home so I can control my lights with it. they aren't hue lights so I can't add my lights to the hue app. It seems odd that you wouldn't be able to when you can on IOS

Locating a lost dimmer

I recently moved, and in the process, one of my remotes got lost, it's nowhere to be found. I know it's in the new apartment somewhere, because it doesn't show as impossible to reach, and it was pressed 4 days after we moved, according to the hue app. I suspect I unpacked it, pressed it to see what it did, then stored it somewhere and forgot about it.

Since it has a wireless connection, is there a way to find it, with a cold/warm estimate of how close to it you are ? It's an old dimmer, it doesn't have bluetooth, just Zigbee.

Help & Questions Any reason to keep Hue hub when using bulbs over Thread with Home Assistant?

I purchased some new Hue bulbs that support Matter + Thread natively. I've paired them directly to Home Assistant and they are working fine.

Is there any reason to keep my hub at this point if I'm not using it anymore? I do kind of remember that there might have been some settings in there for bulbs that they aren't exposing over matter?

Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing with any general recommendations?

Any users of the new hue bridge have any recent positive results, including software updates & behavior? Looking to update my bridge, it is about five years old. Is this the way?
