We will permanently ban scalpers and their shops, if any, will be blacklisted - without appeals.

Review Finally built my first proper gaming PC after years of wanting one

I've wanted a proper gaming PC since I was a kid.

Not going to lie, this feels a little surreal finally having one sitting in front of me.

My first dedicated GPU was a GT 710, if I remember correctly. It obviously wasn't anything special, but at that time just having a graphics card felt pretty cool.

Then when I got to college, I bought a laptop with an RTX 4050. That laptop actually lasted me more than two years and I was pretty happy with it. I used it for basically everything — gaming, work, whatever I needed.

Then last month it suddenly started giving me the Blue Screen of Death, followed by the Black Screen of Death.

Initially I thought it was probably something that could be fixed. Drivers, Windows, RAM, SSD, whatever.

I ended up getting it properly checked at two official service centres and unfortunately both came to the same conclusion.

The motherboard was dead.

At that point I was obviously pretty pissed, but I'd already had this idea of building a desktop in the back of my mind for years.

So I decided not to rush into buying another laptop.

I waited around a month, saved some money, spent way too much time comparing GPUs and PC configurations, looked at a bunch of different shops in Nehru Place, changed my configuration about 500 times...

and finally went for it.

So here's what I ended up with:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M K
RAM: 16GB DDR4-3200 (2×8GB) Zebronics D40832B
Storage: My existing 1TB NVMe SSD
PSU: Coconut X650 650W 80+ Bronze
CPU cooler: AMD stock cooler
Cabinet: 7YRO Black
Monitor: Acer 30" Ultrawide Curved

Total for the PC was ₹90,000 including GST.

I also got an Acer 30" ultrawide curved monitor for around ₹18,000, so the complete setup came to roughly ₹1.08 lakh

I know there are probably people who will look at the parts and immediately tell me I should have bought X instead of Y, and honestly that's fine. I spent quite a lot of time comparing different configurations before settling on this.

The GPU was probably the hardest decision.

I looked at the RTX 5060, RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 XT, RX 7600 XT, 9060 XT 8GB and 16GB, and even some older cards like the 3070 Ti and 3080.

I eventually went with the 9060 XT 16GB because I wanted the extra VRAM and, more importantly, I want to keep this PC for quite a few years.

I'm not expecting the Ryzen 5 5600 to be some monster CPU forever. At some point it'll probably be the thing I upgrade first. But for now I think it makes sense for what I'm doing.

Same with the RAM. 16GB is what I could fit into the budget right now, but I'll probably move to 32GB later.

The PSU is probably the component I'm least confident about, so I'm definitely going to keep an eye on it. If anyone has experience with the Coconut X650, I'd be interested to hear what you think.

And then there's the monitor.

Going from a laptop to a 30-inch ultrawide curved monitor is honestly one of the biggest upgrades of the whole experience. The first time I launched a game on it I just sat there for a minute looking at the screen.

I mainly play single-player/AAA games, so I'm not really building this around competitive 240Hz gaming or anything like that.

I'll probably test it with some of the heavier games I have and post the actual FPS, temperatures and VRAM usage once I've spent some time with it.

I'm especially curious about games like STALKER 2, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Cyberpunk, RDR2, Hogwarts Legacy, Witcher 3, etc.

About Nehru Place

I spent quite a bit of time getting quotes from different shops before buying.

I looked at places like Volted PC, ModX Computers, GIGAPLUS, Gaming PC Wala, Gen Alpha Gaming, PC Adda and a few others.

I ultimately bought the PC from Gaming PC Wala.

And honestly, I want to give them a shout-out here because without them I probably wouldn't have ended up with this exact machine.

The buying experience was good for me and they were willing to work through the configuration with me.

Obviously this is just my personal experience, so I'm not saying they're automatically the best shop in Nehru Place. I'd still recommend getting quotes from multiple stores before buying anything.

But for me, they were the ones who finally put the thing together.

And that's basically it.

I've wanted a gaming desktop for years, and after starting with a GT 710, then gaming on an RTX 4050 laptop, having that laptop's motherboard die, and then spending a month figuring out what the hell I should buy...

I finally have one.

Honestly, I'm just happy to have a proper desktop sitting on my desk now.

I'll add some pictures of the build and setup below.

Would love to hear what you guys think of the build, especially from people who have been using the 9060 XT 16GB or Ryzen 5 5600.

Lost crown was a really good game, due to the Ubisoft messy reputation and some audience hating on its genre the game didn’t became a huge hit.

We could have a got a part 2 if the game became a hit as devs proposed a part 2 to Ubisoft but due to not great sales it was never green lit.

News Why is Sony so evil?

I mean I understand a company being profit oriented. But the way Sony is handling the whole physical disc fiasco is so brutal. Almost like they are saying we don't give a damn to gamers. We will do what we want and you will follow us like a slave.

Discussion New Internet Service Provider in India ?

Will we ever see a new ISP and SIM telecom operator soon?

Jio and Airtel capping data at 3300 gb is worst.

Jio and Airtel force Air fiber technology in majority of areas which is even more worse for gaming.

Local ISPs are not that good everywhere in India.

Why are not ISPs like ACT Fiber and VI Fiber still not available everywhere in India?

Why don't India don't offer real high speed fiber Internets like Singapore, Japan, Finland, Rome and other countries?

Will we ever see a new ISP or telecom operator enter the Indian market soon?

Also, will we ever see Tata Docomo coming back?

News Will my fellow Indian Gamers be interested in a 2D platformer game like this? KO-KHO-GO

Hi, I am Kangkan , a solo game developer from India working on Ko-Kho-Go.
It is set in an imaginary world inspired by the textures of rural Indian life, folklore, strange local legends, everyday absurdities and the kind of stories that blur the line between the familiar and the mythical. At the same time, it carries traces of the realities people actually live with.

if you don't mind, Please let me know your suggestions and what you look for from a 2d platformer? Storytelling , puzzles, characters and lore? What interest you towards a 2d game? Is it art, gameplay or the story? Or is it something else?

Help [Acro RMA] Acro refuses their advertised "Free Pickup" for XPG PSU, but arranges it for RAM on the same day.

Thumbnail
gallery
15 Upvotes

I am dealing with a bizarre situation with Acro Engineering's RMA support and need to know if anyone else has faced this before I file an NCH grievance.

The Situation:

  • I have two approved RMAs for XPG products: A XPG Core Reactor PSU (ACRO260825248343) and a XPG Spectrix D60G RAM kit (ACRO260831242472). I had to fight tooth and nail for several days to get the RAM kit claim accepted, but that's another story.
  • Acro’s official website clearly advertises: "For XPG & Ant Esports, we provide FREE pickup and drop to your location."
  • Today, support emailed me refusing the PSU pickup, stating: "doorstep pickup service is currently not available... arrange a courier from your end."
  • Yet, literally minutes later, their system generated a Shiprocket reverse pickup docket for my RAM claim.

They are actively backtracking on their written warranty terms for a heavy Tier-A power supply, trying to force me to pay out of pocket for shipping, while simultaneously proving their logistics network is working perfectly fine for lighter items.

When my first XPG Core Reactor 650 Gold died in 2023, they arranged the pickup when I did not even ask for it. The replacement was a XPG Pylon 650 Bronze 80+ rated non-modular unit, which was another instance of not honouring XPG's claim: "In the event that production of the Product has been discontinued or factory repair service is no longer provided, XPG will, at its sole discretion, offer a substitute in equivalent level or class for such Product instead."

Has anyone successfully forced Acro to honour their XPG pickup policy for heavy components, or should I just ship it at my own cost and take them to E-Daakhil for the courier fees and deficiency of service?
