I am having trouble setting up the right tools to create this geometric pattern. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to or what operations to use to create this

Hello, I know there must be answers to this out there but I cannot find them. Sorry I don't know how to word this any better but why does my line not follow the path?

Edit: I just figured it out, I was drawing with "Create Spiro path" mode.

Another question: Is there a way to change this mode of an already drawn object/line?
