Long story short: I’ve been sent out for work to Jacksonville a couple times recently and it was my first time getting to experience the town. To preface I’ll say I grew up loving Fred Taylor, Mark Brunell and Jimmy Smith, Donovan Darius as a kid but I’m from Kansas City and wear my Chiefs stuff proudly.

Anyways, just wanted to say I’ve enjoyed San Marco area. Tons of great food in Jacksonville. Had Bold City Wings, Hawkers, been drinking at Aardwolf, the dive bars like Sidecar and others (I can’t remember the name) around that area are full of generous people. Met some cool people and overall really have enjoyed my last 2 trips.

I have a 3rd and possibly final (for a while) trip coming up and was considering some other ideas for when I get to town. My routine has been fun but I also want to keep my options open for some new places I haven’t seen yet. What’s the top spot y’all have in mind?

Regardless, just wanted to also say I love ya Jacksonville, I’ve enjoyed the previous few weeks and I think those who live there have a city they can be proud of. But sometimes those highways are confusing as hell!

Can anyone give a review of what the apartments are like and the people who live there? I'm disabled and live on a fixed income and these apartments came up in a search. Online there are no photos of what they look like on the inside. It says it's been renovated but no pics. Also can you please give an idea of what the monthly rent is for a 1 br? Any help or advice would be great.

Things we did not expect when we opened:

Printers are the single most requested item. Not close. People will pay extra to bring their own. Office Space came out in 1999 and its grip has not loosened.

The busiest hours are not what you'd think. Not Friday night. It's Sunday afternoon and Tuesday around 5pm. Sunday makes sense in hindsight — people are staring down Monday.

Almost nobody screams. We built the room expecting noise. Most people are completely silent and very focused. The loud ones are usually groups, and they're loud from laughing.

Women outnumber men roughly 2 to 1. We assumed the opposite when we were planning it. We were wrong.

The hardest part of the business is sourcing. Not marketing, not staffing. Finding a steady supply of safe breakable material is a constant grind. Glass has to be handled a specific way. Anything with a screen has to be checked for the wrong kind of components before it goes in.

People apologize. Constantly. To the objects, to us, to nobody. There's something about being told it's fine to break things that a lot of adults don't quite believe.

I’ve been really wanting to get into acting and join a community theatre company, but I’ve been running into a bit of a roadblock. A lot of the local community theatres I tried to research has more adult-centered roles and plays.

I’m looking for a place that actually has opportunities for high schoolers to audition, and that puts on more popular, well-known plays or musicals. Ideally, I'm hoping to find something around the Mandarin or St. Johns area (or close by) with a good community of teen actors. If you know of any local youth theatres, companies, or community playhouses that fit this vibe, please drop your recommendations below!

Looking for a great contemporary dance studio around the Mandarin or St. Johns area that has a strong program for high schoolers. I want to avoid places that are exclusively for tiny kids or strictly adult fitness classes, and instead find a solid community of teen girls who focus on learning solid technique and working on cool choreography.

I'm really searching for a studio with a peaceful atmosphere or featuring moody lighting/moodier space overall just a nice vibe, rather than a basic, harsh, bright-white gym box.

If anyone knows of a local studio has a great teen contemporary track, please drop your recommendations below!

My hope is host a group I call "The Ragamuffin Table" on Amelia Island. Anyone have any good recommendations for a good company to lay down sod

I've been debating on whether I should post this or not but here I go. I'm married with a 3yo daughter and I've recently come back from deployment. My wife is a heavily tattooed woman and has been acting strange recently. So I decided to check her messages. I come to find out she's been messing with a tattoo artist from Diadam tattoo a while back. I will not say names but it was pretty easy to find him since he has an IG page with his number on it. I reacted very emotionally and was in a bad mental state for about 2-3 weeks now.
This is a PSA for anyone , do not spend your money at Diadem tattoo. Their artist are clearly unethical and have inappropriate relationships with their clients. Spend your money elsewhere where the artist are real professionals so you don't go through what I did. Currently trying to see what I can do for a divorce any recommendations would be appreciated as money is tight for me. I don't want to make the process too hard on my daughter.

I am aware it takes two people to tango. I have already taken steps forward to hold my wife accountable. Now I wanted to have the other party accountable too by exposing their habits (they done it to other men too) saying it's not his fault or it's not his responsibility doesn't absolve him of any consequences.
