Picture My first pond jars!
Finally went to a local pond (England) and sourced water, sediment, rocks, hornwort and elodea, plus some empty snail shells for decor. Tried a few different style jars and have already been finding so much life in them! One jar has at least 2 baby ramshorns and I found a baby bladder snail in another. Can’t wait to see what shows up! Some have bare bottom, some have sediment and rocks, and some just rocks. I can see tons of tiny swimmers, I was able to make out some copepods and I think there’s probably daphnia. Found some detritus worms in my “ugly” dirty one (last photo). Excited to see how they evolve and what setups succeed!
I welcome any tips for success! Love seeing your jars
