Strategy Things teams do best and worst day 43: Warpcoven

Post image
137 Upvotes

Tell me what you think is the best thing about the warpcoven! And the worst thing.

Best: Sorcerer elites! you can bring three sorcerers that can have a different rule for each! an their boons are really varied!

you can also use tzangoors to make your army wider than just elites ( altought the gunner and icon beare have a +2 save! ).

you gan give devastating 1 to almost all your weapons, change the value of a dice with one of the coolest named ploys "fate itself is my weapon" and also change your boon on combat!

goes without saying that with your sorcerers, you have psychic for days! three sorcerers are really nice to use and mostly important very tzeench-coded, they are really flavorful! and you can usem their abilities within them with psychic cabal!

Worst: sisters exist, they eat psychics for breakfast.

your gunners are really slow or have a +5 save with the tzangoors, and if you dont bring tzangoors you gonna have onle 3 strat and 3 fireflight ploys to use.

it's sad that they are declassified, they are really fun tought.

Hobby Orky DEATH WATCH - Hotline Miami-themed!

"Do you like hurting other people?"

...is not something that the so called Deff Skwad ever asked themselves. Hard-as-nails Nobz with as much weapons than they own teef, they work as the personal assassination squad / wrecking ball for powerful Waaagh Bosses, up to and including (if one is inclined to believe their bragging) the Beast of Armageddon himself.

The roster of the Skwad includes:

* Jacked (a.k.a. The Sergeant)

* Da Swonn (a.k.a. The Blademaster)

* Da Otha Swonn (a.k.a. The Gunner) (both Swan 1 and Swan 2 think they have gotten the better number over the other one - 1 comes first, but 2 is bigger)

* Beard (a.k.a. The Marksman)

* Da Porcine a.k.a. "da Beakie Butcha" (a.k.a. The Demolisher)

* Da Zee-Brah (a.k.a. The Headtaker)

* Da Rowdent (a.k.a. The Disruptor)

* Da Tigurrh (a.k.a. The Aegis)

* Da Urzine a.k.a "da Grah-Wiz" (a.k.a. The Bombard a.k.a. The Horde-Slayer a.k.a. The Breacher)

I've wanted to do a Hotline Miami-themed Kill Team for ages, and it was a lot of fun adapting the rules of the Death Watch operatives over to suitably orky counterparts (and yes, I added layers of cork so they actually measure up to Primaris height).

Hope you enjoy them!

Me and my friend, both noobs, finally completed our first full game.

It only took us FOUR HOURS

And the amount of rules and other stuff we realised we forgot afterwards was ridiculous, more than enough to have changed the outcome, lol.

Loved it though and can't wait for more

Misc Kill Team Season 2 Recap: What to Know Before Season 3 [Faction Represen...

Thumbnail

Dropped a video breaking down which factions are going to be the most under or overrepresented gang.

TLDR for those who don't want to listen to my gash scouse accent for half an hour:

Imperial teams [positive one]

Eldar teams [Maintained]

Wider Xenos teams [Down two]

One Chaos team [Maintained]

Some glaring gaps include: Custodes, Grey Knights, Slanesh, Tzeench.

Tau seem a overrepresented compared to the rest of the Xenos who only have a single Kill Team to represent their entire army compared to their three (soon to be two).

I am a sourpuss and cannot find hype for Legion of the Damned Rumours.

I miss proper 14 man horde teams but generally like the direction the game is going in with smaller teams, I feel like this opens up the board for Custodes and Grey Knights more credibly, especially given the above.

Excited to see what the rest of season 3 brings though, a new Kill Zone is always good fun.

Let me know what gaps need filling the most.

Hello hello, I’ve always wanted a kill team so I’ve decided to kitbash my self one that I like.
I know the scheme is a bit out there for them but once I started down that lighting I loved it and thought it added interest.
Obviously lots more to do like blending and getting paint on more areas but his overall look won’t change a whole lot now.

So, in our latest game, Angels of death got crushed by Deathwatch, although one of the intercessors fell from a bridge and agreed on fall damage.

It was one of the killteams I’ve enjoyed painting the most, and it’s also allowed me to improve my OSL technique a great deal.

(I don’t have any photos of the rest at the moment)

I appreciate feedback, suggestions for improvement, etc :)

Hobby Super Hyped! Painted my first miniature!

Hello!, I'm new to Kill Team and to Warhammer in general. I don't know how to play yet and don't have anyone to play with, but managed to find a Starter Box with Vespids and the Aquilons. I enjoy it mostly for painting the figures and this is my first attempt. I can't believe how tiny it is in real life and how people manage to get some intricate details. I tried my best but I cant keep a steady hand so well, and my brushes are the cheapest Nylon. I didn't follow a tutorial but have seen Youtube channels of people painting before. Any advice is appreciated, I want to learn.

P.S. I made a list of all the paints I used (I actually have a big paint collection because I got obsessed collecting paint sets last year) for anyone curious I'll copy/paste my color list here:

Vespid Paint List

------------------------

Body:

Speed Paints: Zealot Yellow, Purple Alchemy (Main Body, Underside)

Pro Acryl: Satin Black (Claws and Stripes, Can use regular black)

---------

Wings:

Pro Acryl: Warm Yellow, Magenta, Bold Titanium White (Wing anthenas, White for Fluo Paint Base)

Speed Paints: Purple Alchemy (A bit for Shadows, With Pro Acryl Magenta)

GSW Fluo: Fluo Lime, Fluo Turqoise (Wing Glow)

--------

Weapons, Armor:

Pro Acryl: Bold Titanium White, Bright Neutral Grey, Bold Pyrole Red (Gun)

War Paints: True Copper (Gun Detail)

GSW Fluo: Fluo Lime, Fluo Red (Eye and Crystal)

--------

Base Ground:

Pro Acryl: Bold Titanium White, Dark Neutral Grey, Warm Brown, Yellow Ochre (To mix for light / shadows in Concrete and Ground)

Pro Acryl: Charcoal Black (Base Rim)

Speed Paints: Talos Bronze, Pallid Bone (Rebarb in concrete, Skull)

Vallejo Game Color: Cold Grey (Main color for Concrete)

Citadel Technical: Agrellan Badland (Dirt Base)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I hand painted some Vallejo Shiny clear coat on the body and wings to make it look shiny like a bug.

Question Ranger alpha or vanguard alpha for Hunter clade team?

A bit of context: I've built 2 vanguard alphas and 2 ranger alphas for my hunter clade. One ranger alpha is equipped with a rifle, one vanguard alpha with a rad pistol and a power weapon and the rest (the second vanguard alpha and the second ranger alpha) are equipped with an arc maul each. I am not sure which one of the two, should get the the arc pistol.

Bare with me for a bit, because I know this might sound completely ridiculous. Is there any reason a hunter clade team that uses mostly rust stalkers / rangers and no vanguards, would use a vanguard alpha? Is the ranger alpha a better choice for a leader, in other words, will they see more use compared to the other alphas I have built? Should I give the better weapon option ,i.e the arc pistol, to the ranger alpha with the arc maul or should I give it to the vanguard alpha?

Sorry for the repost, for some reason the images I tried to attach didn't show up so I had to fix it.

Hobby Tips for making my own tokens?

Post image
Upvotes

I bought these MDF tokens for super cheap at my LGS because I want to make custom tokens for obscure, engaged, etc.

I just wanted to ask for tips on how to go about it, since I wanted to use the hex tokens for most of them. My initial plan was to paint one side green, the other red, and then put "obscure" or "hidden" on them to represent that. I also want to use transfers since there's some symbols that could be used to represent the Kill Team symbols.

Any tips or tricks you guys might have? These are going towards starting a Kill Team scene at the LGS.

Bought some Kasrkin a while ago and was always sad that I couldn't get more units out of the sprues.

Printed up some proxy bodies recently and now I've got 9 more guys so now I can field accurate troops instead of pretending my OG flamer is a guy with a melta.

Cadia stands! ✊

Question Any tips for Nem Claw?

I picked them up since the night lords trilogy was my first foray into 40k lore. Entered a competitive league and got absolutely steamrolled with them. I heard that they’re a really good team, but in the 10 week league I couldn’t win a single game lol. Tips very much appreciated
