Question Did Refrag work for you?

I'm trying to improve my headshot precision, crosshair placement, and aiming calmly under pressure.

I've never used a paid service for CS2 improvement so I'm wondering if there's a proper advantage to using something like refrag to train your mechanics, entry pathing, and crosshair placement rather than only community maps, DM and lots of matchmaking.

Oh thank you, a trial would be perfect.

What is your current rank? Refrag is a good tool for targeted practice but that might not be what you need

I'm Faceit 8. I think targeted practice would do me some good. I'm pretty aware of my weaknesses, I have an exceptionally low HS kill percentage which I believe stems from bad cross-hair placement and I've still yet to kick the habit of tensing up when I get into gunfights.

I mean refrag is good and I use it from time to time but I would recommend just playing a lot of community DM servers and being mindful about what you’re doing. For a few bucks a month you might as well buy it and do a few routines along the DM

If you want to get better hs% play community DM and do !headshot or !hs every 100 or so kills you can toggle it

I’ve paid for it on & off since CS2 was released. I used to play the xfire and duels scenarios for hours on end but I now only do the quick daily warmups, spray control being my most noticable improvement. I think if you’re learning the game it’s a valuable tool that beats having to suffer through 1000+ hours of matchmaking to see improvements.

My spray control sucks. When I play one of those modules, I don't even know what I'm doing wrong... its like, yeah, spray better dumbass, but it doesn't tell me how to spray better.

This is what my main focus is with refrag and itll get better. You just gotta keep doing it until you start to understand it.

If you can kill the first target but have trouble moving to the next one, depending on how long it took to kill the first one, make sure by the time you flick to the next you are aiming below the target or to the lower left of the target and pick up the spray pattern from there

Refrag teaches a lot of this stuff but imo you don’t get the nuance of some things

You can improve your aim by shooting bots in aimbotz or other aim maps, and for crosshair placement/entrying just watch some demos, watch pro demos, watch high elo pugger demos, watch your own demos

I use refrag almost every day and I also have an extremely low hs kill percentage.

I think it’s a great tool but it has room for improvement still.

If I’m reading correctly. Blaming refrag for your poor hs percentage is probably a slippery slope

I’m not blaming refrag I’m just saying it’s not gonna magically fix the problem.

Yes but you have too lock in on and not just f*** around

refrag goes hard imo

My 2cents. Most mechanics can be practiced in isolation. I found refrag interesting, but I felt like unless your core mechanics are solid, then refrag is only going to ingrain bad habits.

I found I improved more from being in low stressful exercises. A lot of sports psychology leans into this philosophy. Cs naturally being a stressful game, you apply what your body already knows. If your mechanics suck during stress, then it is likely because your fundamentals are not practiced.

I think refrag can be a great tool, but not for practicing the basics. It felt like it would help advance my fundamentals. In most cases, people cannot do the basics when they're required, during stress. It is really boring and maybe that's not what you want from cs.

i think you would be using it wrong then. it is a very extensive tool, there are so many ways to practise, like play with bots, watch the tutorials, your own warmup routines and so much more.

I do that using a spreadsheet in google docs. Costs me nothing.

I'm not saying I'm right, this is just my experience getting better at the game. I didn't need it, I had my own path like everyone does.

thats great then. personally, i found refrag as the best tool for practising and learning, i like the servers and gamemodes, but also the tutorials

Yup. There's more than one way to skin a cat.

I hoped refrag would help me practice crosshair placement and general awareness (sitting between 2000 elo on faceit) but it just makes it even worse. It puts bots in complete random areas of the zones I retake that if the enemy would do that in a real game I'd start asking myself, which rank am I playing again. I've tried all maps and none of them work for me. I told myself I would focus up, never tilt even if my team is garbage and toxic, and my aim and entire game mechanics became better. I barely even warmup because players in these lobbies are just so predictable it's a joke. I genuinely stopped caring about my rank, because in the end I play cs2 to have fun. I am currently on a 7 losing streak back to level 8 :^) so whish me luck.

Also there are free preaim angle maps out there that are basically the same thing they offer for money that I use from time to time on maps I see I can't perform well in.

Refrag is great. The prefire modes are the best you can find atm, and there are a ton of specific modes for all kinds of scenarios, all with configurable difficulty. They also send you an email notifying they are gonna charge you in a couple of days, so you have the chance to cancel before they charge. Great product and very ethical company.
If you have friends its also epic, you can host a retake server or play duels or practice grenades on nadr, those are honestly my most used features lol

I think Refrag is cheap enough for the value it brings. I'll hapily pay for it, it doesn't do miracles but it's convenient and helps sometimes.

I enjoyed it when I was playing. Just fun challenges as much as anything else.

... all of these aimlab inspired stuff are just excuses for cheaters.

No you will not learn anything or improve more than you would by just playing the game... unless you are a literal day 1 noob.

Holy schizo

Not true at all. It's the same thing as the old school pros who down play a game of cs until they get 1000 kills in aim labs. Only difference is Refrag actually lets you practice in-game realistic moments on the map.
How many opportunities do you have per game to practice 3 man spray transfers. You do know that learning by failure is not always the best as it can teach you bad habits, right?
