Question CS2 suddenly crashing after 10–20 minutes — need help diagnosing the issue
Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out what’s causing my CS2 to suddenly crash, and I’m honestly running out of things to try.
I’ve had this PC for around 3 months and have been playing CS2 without any problems for the last 2–3 months. When I first built the PC, I did have an issue where CS2 crashed, and somehow the GPU driver got uninstalled/corrupted. I’m not sure what happened, but I fixed it then. After that, I had zero issues for months.
Now, CS2 suddenly crashes consistently after about 10–20 minutes of playing.
PC Specs
CPU: Ryzen 5 3500 (6 Cores)
RAM: 24GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance — 1×8GB 2400MHz + 1×16GB 3200MHz
Motherboard: MSI B450M Pro-A II
GPU: MSI Armor OC RX 580 8GB
AMD Wraith Stock Cooler
SSD: WD Green 240GB NVMe M.2
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM
PSU: Cooler Master 550W
RAM
I originally had 24GB RAM:
8GB 2400MHz
16GB 3200MHz
Since they have different rated speeds, I manually matched the speed through BIOS. I've been using this setup for around 3 months without any problems.
I initially suspected the mixed RAM might be causing the crashes, so I removed the 8GB 2400MHz stick and tested CS2 with only the 16GB 3200MHz stick.
It still crashed after 10–20 minutes.
Things I've already tried
Verified CS2 game files through Steam
Closed all background applications and ran only CS2
Removed the 8GB 2400MHz RAM and tested with only the 16GB 3200MHz stick
Tried uninstalling the latest Windows update because the problem started after a Windows update last week
Tested CS2 after rolling back the Windows update — still crashed
CS2 graphics settings are already set to low
Valorant works completely fine and doesn't crash
The timing is what confuses me. Everything was working perfectly for months, and this suddenly started happening.
Could this be overheating?
I'm also wondering if CPU/GPU temperatures could be the issue.
The case is relatively small, although I have multiple fans installed for ventilation. I've never had overheating/crashing issues during the previous 3 months.
Could overheating suddenly become an issue even if the system was completely fine before?
I'm also hesitant to reinstall Windows because I've seen multiple Reddit posts where people said reinstalling didn't solve their CS2 crashes.
What should I check next?
I'd really appreciate suggestions on how to properly diagnose whether this is:
GPU/AMD driver related
RAM instability
CPU/GPU overheating
PSU issue
Windows issue
CS2 itself
Are there any specific stress tests, temperature monitoring tools, Event Viewer logs, BIOS settings, AMD driver checks, or other diagnostics I should try?
I'm especially interested in figuring out what is actually failing rather than just reinstalling everything and hoping it fixes it.
Thanks!

Question How should i plan my economy as an awper ?
I have been wondering if its best to buy AWP any given chance even when sacrificing the helmet or utility. Also what to do when i dont have enough money for AWP, eg. i can buy AK (or any other rifle), should save on the util etc.
What would you do or some other tips you would give me?
Thanks in advance.

Question Did Refrag work for you?
I'm trying to improve my headshot precision, crosshair placement, and aiming calmly under pressure.
I've never used a paid service for CS2 improvement so I'm wondering if there's a proper advantage to using something like refrag to train your mechanics, entry pathing, and crosshair placement rather than only community maps, DM and lots of matchmaking.

Question Trying to find a sensitivity
Hello, I'm in a bit of a pickle.
I've been trying to find a sensitivity. The best aimers in the world use something like 40-50cm/360 and for good reason. At this sensitivity it is like your crosshair is moving through molasses. The micro errors you make when moving your wrist/arm are ironed out. Maybe I'm getting that wrong but that's what I feel from messing around.
The problem is you can't do a 180. 30cm/360 is the bare minimum for me to do a clean 180 on my giant ass mousepad.
I'm just wondering how you guys solved this dillema and what sens you use.
Thanks for reading.

any advice on how i can improve?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
i previously asked how to improve in a previous post when i had 291 hours on cs and since then i have spent a majority of my time practicing mainly in duels and deathmatch
i now have 623 hours in cs and while i believe i have improved since then i still think improvements are needed
it would really be helpful if someone with more experience could point out any of my errors and what i can improve and work on, i tried including the times i died, if you would like me to include the times i got kills to see if i may have an error there feel free to ask.
quick update thank you all for the advices now i know what to spend time working on, so far ive been practicing in aim rush and a bit in duels focusing on counter strafing and hitting headshots https://medal.tv/games/counter-strike-2/clips/nq9FMeGi0Fp8CUGld?invite=cr-MSxzazAsNDA1MjE5NzA5 might not be much of an improvement but its a starting point, feel free to point out on any errors you might see in the clip.

200 Hours in CS2 — Ace, What could I have done better? pt2
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I posted about a week ago on a previous clip in a similar fashion. I wanted to say to the ones that did comment, those pieces of advice helped me out a lot just in general with my gameplay and I've seen marginal amounts of improvements. I went from 11K-13K since I've last posted. Most of my matches have been consistent as well. I'd like to continue this kind of learning where you guys nitpick my aces or can give me some sort of advice if there's some to give.
edit: I understand my team was their to aid which probably helped with some of those kills. Even still any solid advice could help if there is some to give!

Discussion Peaked lvl 10 now hardstuck lvl 7
I think I’m having a mental block and no confidence in duels anymore, i used to be lvl 10 months back and stopped playing up until recently. Now I’m in lvl 7 lobbies and whenever i lose a duel or play badly I get very frustrated that I died to someone worse than me and playing horrible against low elo players. It’s reached a point where I don’t even take the game serious anymore because It’s either tilt or take faceit casually so that I don’t lose my mind. I just had to rant and maybe someone here will have mental tips for me

Question Any coach/demo Recommendations?
Hello CS community,
First time writing here as I’m getting used to the game from playing CSgo a while back.
I’ve been grinding lately (about ~100hrs in, playing after work) while enjoying playing Faceit and watching demos to see where I can improve. I was hoping to have someone watch my demo and get a decent feedback but realized lot of platforms out there charge a lot from what I’ve seen…
Would there be any recs I can reference and/or tips on climbing the ladder overall?
I’m Faceit 3-4 (less than 5k Premier) of knowing certain util usage/mechanisms and learning the line ups along the way.
Many thanks in advance!
