Sample Rate Mismatch

Hello, I know this is a common error but mine feels a bit more complex so wanted to post for help:(

When I load midi, specifically drum kit midi, I get this error message “Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI. Sample Rate 42,070 recognized, check conflict between Logic Pro and external device”.

Currently my set up is an M1 2020 MacBook Pro, most recent version of logic.

I have a scarlet solo interface, that I plug into a USBC hub. This hub also holds the plugs for my monitor and my external hard drive. I keep my Logic Pro library on my external hard drive as well.

It seems like for midi only specifically for drums this because a huge probably like, if I just wanna play a few beats on my keyboard, no extra plug ins or anything, the CPU and HD bar get maxed tf out and it cuts out then gives me the message.

I checked my settings like the Format section, confirmed my format is good, I tried plugging in the scarlet solo directly to the Mac same issue. Wondering if anyone could know what was happening? Or maybe a memory error since I have 8GB?

Try plugging the SSD directly into the Mac. Or see if unplugging the external monitor helps. You're probably trying to force too much data through the hub.

You can also see if maybe increasing the I/O buffer size will help.

Thank you!!!! So I ended up plugging the SSD directly into my Mac like you said, and I stopped getting that sample rate message, but I went back to the “system is slow disk overload”message.

TLDR I ended up moving my logic library bundle back to my internal hard drive. CPU is semi fighting for its life but is in no way cutting out or interrupting the song.

Moving it out got me into this mess I think. Thanks again!
