The IMX272 based cameras (E-M1 II/III, E-M5 III, OM-5 I/II) all have similar AF performance, which is better than the E-M5 II for these situations, very usable with practice (you have to land the AF point on the intended target), but still far from ideal compared to what modern AF systems are doing.
The latest IMX472 based cameras (OM-1 II, OM-3), have modern subject detection AF that makes photographs of moving subjects effortless. The camera finds the face/eye of the subject type selected and focuses there for you. You can guide the AF with a larger focus region to the subject you want it to focus on rather than have to plant the focus point yourself.

I would suggest waiting for Sept 9 to see what OM releases. If it's a PEN with the IMX472, then there will be an option there to have modern subject detection AF in an E-M5 II size body.
