This is hell.

I miss the 45 minute frequency of the 37 over the "30 minute" frequency of either of these buses.

I'm coping with the very real reality that I have to move. The 11 is not a feasible bus for everyday transport. Sucks because I have an affordable apartment in a stellar neighborhood. That rent is no longer a deal when I am have to spend so much on Lyft.

Also, love that the 11 regularly leaves Midtown station a few minutes early at night. S/

I work for Marta, live along the route 11, and drive the 11 and I still had to take a uber/lyft to work lol. I just bought a scooter so hopefully that will help.. but I worked 11 two days last markup. I changed it to only 1 day for the next couple months for the fact I ended up being blamed and getting attitude from many of the passengers because other drivers weren’t completing their routes even though I was one of the few drivers who didn’t miss a day of work and was on time unless traffic stopped me.

Thank you for your thankless service. You’re the true hero here.

I got off the 11 completely. I couldn't take it anymore

I like the route but it has become more and more intense every month.

What do you mean by other drivers not completing their routes? Is that fairly common? What happens when you don’t complete your route?

Intentionally getting behind on schedule so they can take extra breaks and/or do less work. Taking shortcuts and not doing the designated route. Or simply finding anything and everything wrong with the bus in order to take it back to the garage and take their time going back in service while the rest of us have to pick up their slack.

I for one love getting to Midtown at 6:05pm and not leaving until 7-7:30pm.

Theyre about to have the EBike rebate again maybe that could help bridge the gap of your commute

What’s with bus agencies around the USA making frequency on their buses horrible after 5pm? People typically finish work after that

Or work overnights.

Is it possible to get to your destination using a bicycle? Or using an e-bike, so you don't work up a sweat?

I looked at the route map for the 11 bus, and I see it would take some creative route planning to do it by bike. But it might be possible.

I have an active breeze card. I have trips loaded on it in advance. I live almost directly on the 11's route (I have a 8 minute walk from the stop). I shouldn't need to buy extra shit because MARTA decided to "improve service." Also getting home the walk is uphill and the last time I want to do after 8 hours on my feet is to bike up a hill.

I use to catch the 37, it was 20 minutes to and from work most times, and it was bless. Catching the 11 & 14 is especially after work is hell.

Very possible. I’ve bought an 800watt scooter and have been making it happen.

Try Marta’s no. 39 from Lindbergh out to Buford Hwy. 5-7pm on any weekday. It is overcrowded, standing room only. I complained to Marta. The silence is deafening.

Could some explain to me what’s wrong with riding buses 11 and 14 after 5pm? If Marta doesn’t cancel the buses, I feel like it’s pretty great to catch them from midtown going westbound. It’d be amazing if we can actually track the buses live though. It’s so rare that we can track all 5 buses (route 11) all at once on the map.

The point is they are often cancelled (with or without notice) or late. Since the change I've had maybe 5-6 trips that went as MARTA intends. Meaning caught the 14 on time, got to midtown and transferred to a waiting or soon to be arriving 11.

The 11 westbound has to deal with traffic along 10th Street and (mainly) Northside Drive. On top of whatever delays it has from the eastern portion of the route. The route usually doesn’t have most of its trackers on so during rush hour its essentially a gamble on rather you’re gonna be waiting for a few minutes or 20+. I personally don’t have to ride the 14 but it has to deal with both Howell Mill, 10th Street, AND Huff Road which get congested as well
