Dash Cam Recommendations
I just picked up a 2024 Mini Cooper Hardtop SE (electric). I love it. It is so much fun to drive, and I'm so happy with the small footprint.
I'd like to add a dashcam, so I wanted to get recommendations that could be mini-specific. I was looking for a solution for cell phone mount and found Craven's Gemini Phone Mount which is awesome. Are there any mini-specific recommendations for a Dashcam?
I'm considering VIOFO A229 Pro, but I just can't get over how goofy the front camera/screen unit looks. What have you all done?

Vantrue N2X 2.7K
going on 3 years...no issues\problems...records cabin aswell...app works good....Like how the entire cam unclips kind of magnetically..without need to unplug usb cable as the cable plugs into windshield mount...easy to remove if need be...zero complaints!

I have a 70mai m310. Super cheap (~$35) and basic camera but it gets the job done. Had zero issues in the past 4 years Ive had it. Its small and tucks neatly behind the mirror, cant see it from the drivers seat. App works well too. Im not convinced spending more money gets you a much better camera. Make sure to get a high endurance micro SD card though, that does make a difference.

I got the Thinkware ARC900 and love it. Def get it pro-installed but the camera quality, radar parking mode, etc. doesn't drain the battery.

If the size of the viofo is bothering you check out ddpai. Way more compact and hides behind the mirror easily . Would look a lot cleaner in a mini

Hasn’t a 2024 got CarPlay and android auto, why bother with a phone mount? I have this dash cam, completely invisible I just found this on AliExpress: https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExG1eb0

This is literally asked every single week... Is it so hard to use the search function?

I did search dashcam in r/mini. All but a couple of the results are 2+ years old, so it didn't seem unreasonable question to post.

FitcamX. Literally looks like it's built for the car. You don't get a fancy screen (which I like since it's not a light in the cabin at night) but you don't get wires sticking out and this chunk of plastic facing outwards.
I have the front and rear setup. Works great, very discreet.
