HELP Can’t get PDW brace off

So just picked up my Mac 5 and the first thing I did was put on the SB tactical PDW brace. Like most people I had to use a mallet to get it on, now I’m trying to get it off and I fucking can’t. Any tips to getting it off so I can clean it after taking it to the range?

I used a heat gun to soften the plastic when installing. Much easier

Look on the bottom and make sure the set screws are loose (I made this mistake)

Other than that, rubber mallet

The little hex screws? I think I made the same mistake when putting them on, didn’t realize I needed to do anything other than slide it on.

Yeah. I bought mine used and it was already installed. I scraped the fck out of the lower hammering it off. Once I tried to re-install I noticed the little set screws. Made me feel like an idiot. But they’re not very noticeable

My SB tactical brace was also extremely tight and difficult to take off by hand. It was actually so tight that it caused the bolt to get stuck in the rear of the receiver when shooting, so keep an eye out on that. I form 1ed my AP5 asap and put a real HK A3 stock on and the issue went away.

But to get the brace off just get a mallet and give it a couple love taps. It should come off fairly easily with a mallet.

Tried the mallet method and no luck. I’m wondering if I really gotta smack the thing lol.
