AIXM 5.1.1 visualisation for Frankfurt airport and current AIP map

This is a visualisation of the German AIXM dataset for Frankfurt Airport. The Aeronautical Information Exchange Model is a data set used by countries to digitally describe their aeronautical data and is set to replace the AIP (Aeronautical Information Publication) wich is the second picture.

These maps form the backbone of every flight, as they determine who goes where when aeroplanes are taxiing on the ground.

This is part of a larger project to simplify the use of AIXM datasets, which cannot be visualised using standard GIS tools.

If you want to know more you can try the wms service to stream AIXM datasets via map services https://geoserver.delorean-aixm.com/geoserver/ows?service=WMS&version=1.3.0&request=GetCapabilities

or go to the offical repo to find out more : https://github.com/3l-gee/delorean-aixm

My personal guess on how safe I would feel bikepacking (bicycle touring) in Europe 🚲

Post image

Disclaimer: This is a personal list, not an advice on where it is safe to cycle.
Cyclists welcome to judge.
For context I recently bikepacked only in The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Which is colored how it made me feel. But the only countries I have not traveled to in Europe ever are: Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania (Planned for next year) - & Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova. Which are just randomly colored from stories heard or videos seen.
So everything else is a guess from primarily what I've witnessed the roads to be like from the past decade of traveling through them.
Also, of course it always depends on region/city/town of any country but that's too much detail to get into here.

Edit: By "per capita" I meant per one million.

Just a fun weekend project I worked on this summer. I wanted to create a visual overview of when different map projections have appeared in history.

The information was adapted from Wikipedia’s “List of map projections” and is shared under the Creative Commons.

Feel free to reuse or adapt it—attribution would be appreciated! Cheers!

Comments, changes, advice, and improvements are more than welcome! :)
