Tech TroubleShooting fix the performance
its actually so ass why am I barely pushing 90 fps on outpost with all the lowest settings at 1440p
on arc raiders I get 240+ fps on ultra so what is this bs

u/cayde123 18d ago
My frames get worse on each map
Cryo has horrible performance for me, and outpost

Less than 100 fps on a 5080 w 7800x3d dlss ultra performance on 4k
For a game not even running raytracing is nuts

u/VoodooF 17d ago
Let's not talk about crossing Control in Cryo Archive đ«

u/SucculentMelon133 17d ago
nah bruh the fucking dna card sequence with all the ADS is infinitely worse
2
u/mikeshredz 17d ago
Why on gods name are you playing a PvP game in 4k?
3
u/Changes11-11 17d ago
I play this game for fun, I enjoy the visuals alot. 4K this game looks amazing and honestly, this game is so terribly optimized that swapping to 1080p doesnt even change the fps, maybe slight 5%. This game bottlenecks my gpu hard

u/nokk1XD 17d ago
Bro, idk what are you talking about, but on my system 9070xt 5700x3d 32gb ram I have on first map like 140-160fps on ultra settings native 1440p.

u/SucculentMelon133 17d ago
yes ur singular anecdotal experience invalidates the hundreds of complaints about cpu performance for this game.
just so u know, even ppl with nasa rigs and streamers dont even break past 180 fps even on medium settings at 2k.

u/nokk1XD 17d ago
May be because people cant make their ânasaâ pc run correctly? I just have a lot of experience in pc building, configuration sub timings of ram and correct overclocking, all games for me run very smoothly. Btw, Im streaming as well.
1
u/Tenaxoxo 17d ago
Shouldnât have to have experience in pc building and overclocking just to tune my pc for this game in order to get the FPS that Iâd get in any other game without lifting a finger

u/nokk1XD 17d ago
Actually you should, the same goes with the cars for example. If you dont understand how cars work - you pay a person who understands. If you want your pc to run properly you overpay for prebuilt or pay someone who can build it for you. Apparently, most of the people dont know about xmp/expo and they play with stock ram. I have old cpu with old platform and it performs better than newer ones, that says something about knowledge, right? If you dont want to lift your finger then go for console, pcâs are for people with basic understanding of pc building.

this is simply such a stupid argument, and im saying this as someone studying it/net engineering right now.
video games are a damn consumer product. marathon is not a complex sim game like flight sim where the average player can be inferred to have hardware experience etc.
this is a 40 dollar triple a game, u cannot defend a company like bungie having dogshit cpu optimization. And the fact that their recommended specs dont even hit 60 fps for many people, and they have a stupid laptop spec exception as well (which is unheard of for any triple AAA game) is sad. Their official cryo archive reveal stream with milo and skarrow9 had both streamers playing at bungie hq at on provided desktops, and they were hitting 40 and 50 fps. and then they were told to turn off their in game fps counter
i get that u looooove flexing ur pc knowledge man, and reddit is perfect for ppl like u but don't even try to frame an argument like this lmao.
2
u/nokk1XD 17d ago
Studying IT has nothing to do with pc building, Ive been hearing this stupid argument for over a decade. I personally know 2 friends of mine who been in it for 15 years and they literally noobs in pc, please stop using this phrase. Optimisation is not dogshit. Go play tarkov to see what is really dogshit optimisation. Im not flexing, its just true, people nowadays dont even know about basic stuff. For plug and play you have consoles, why you pick pc when you know nothing about it?

u/Tenaxoxo 17d ago
No I shouldnât. You shouldnât have to be an expert in a topic in order to purchase and use something to its best ability especially if itâs a product meant for entertainment and enjoyment. Sorry but ur wrong

u/nokk1XD 17d ago
Read again what Iâve written.

u/Tenaxoxo 17d ago
U edited it
And yeah I paid for everything to be done for me so why doesnât this ONE specific game function like itâs supposed to? Cuz itâs ass
1
u/StumbleuponDub 17d ago
This guy's straight up trolling. Show me a single streamer running around Outpost with Ultra settings at 160fps. Can't stand liars.
1
u/nokk1XD 17d ago
I was talking about Perimeter location (I said "on first map"), not whole game, because Im just started playing, you know. On Perimeter Im getting 140-160fps Ultra Native. On Outpost 100-120fps, so I cant understand how the fuck streamers with high end rigs get lower than me, thats absurd. I can prove you my words if you dont belive me.

u/SucculentMelon133 18d ago
game runs like ass and the ultra die hard fans with chase u with pitch forks and try to explain why u need a server grade cpu to run this game at least competitively to any other shooter on the market.
3
u/Tenaxoxo 18d ago
Yeah I have 430 hours and I really tried to look past it but Iâve had enough
3
u/SucculentMelon133 18d ago
dude thats hella impressive. ive got 200 hours, and i just have weeks on end where i just rage quit b/c i cant humbly take an L when im gettign 48 fps on perimeter with random ass drops. u just feel like a fucking sloth when under 60 fps in this game.

u/Deep-Acanthaceae-659 18d ago
Iâve never seen anyone defend the performance. One of the biggest things holding this game back imo

The game is cpu bound, if you're lowering the graphical settings odds are it's not helping you at all if you have a decent gpu. You should mess around with the settings in game to compare and see the FPS difference between high & low

u/vincentofearth 18d ago
Players have been complaining about perf since launch. I guess Iâm lucky I happen to have a machine that can run the game decently without weird issues but based on the amount of complaints Iâve seen itâs borderline unacceptable how badly the game runs. Months into the launch my game was still crashing after being open a few hours which was probably due to a memory leak. Ironically if the game did manage to retain players they still wouldnât be able to play because the game runs so poorly.

u/hi_there_is_me 17d ago
I play on ultra settings on a mid range setup and I get 90 FPS. On a rare occasion it drops to 60, but it doesnât happen often

u/biggestpos 17d ago
3080ti and 5950x here, 32 gigs at 3200 mhz and I hover in the mid 50s most of the time, sometimes hitting 65 but rarely.
This is all settings at their lowest except anisotropic filtering with DLAA - the lower quality DLSS settings barely improve FPS if at all, and make the game a soupy mess where it's harder to spot players.

u/slowcrostic 17d ago
my rig is a little above recommended specs, i have a ryzen 7 5700 and the game struggles so hard to keep 60 fps even below 1080p
1
u/KodaBuns 16d ago
no yeah my frames in this game are ABYSMAL compared to other modern titles. my CPU is struggling here

Seems performance is getting worse with each update? I used to not have any FrameGen visible lag but now on Cryo, some places just have the worst stutters from FrameGen. Love the game though. Damn Bungie fix it!
1
u/ButterKnights2 13d ago
There are a couple gpu performance losses by switching to full low. I need to keep the ai frame prediction thing and go from 40 to 110 fps. This also fixed my audio taring that happens at like FPS. Play around with each setting
1
u/TheDiamondSquidy 12d ago
Getting 90 fps on an i9-12900k is a joke. Overclocking would probably not even help since this game is so thread hungry
1
u/slowcrostic 7d ago
im late to the post but im running it with an rx 6600 and a ryzen 7 5700 32gigs on 768p and the game struggles to keep 60 fps most of the times. my cpu and gpu usage are really low, cpu sometimes even going down to 30 percent. i dunno what to do because ppl with my same specs get much better performance and the game actually uses the cpu and gpu. i havent played even 20 hours because of this

u/fx72 18d ago
game is also capped at 8000 texture memory in 2026.
still runs like shit.
ruining games to compensate for shitty console hardware, cause they're too lazy to add better textures for PC, even embark did it.
4
u/Jazzcat95 17d ago
Txtures have nothing to do with why it "runs like shit". The game is CPU bound.
0
u/fx72 17d ago
it means the game LOOKS like shit.

u/Jazzcat95 17d ago
How is that related to anything that was said in the reply chain? Go practise basic reading skills.

u/im_down_w_otp 17d ago
The performance for me has gotten worse with every update. I came back from vacation, installed the latest update, and Iâm getting 15-20 fps lower than the version of the game that was from ~2 weeks ago.

u/SucculentMelon133 17d ago
lol push that fov slider to the max. u cant even get a stable 60 fps on xbox lmao. so sad that bungie couldn't even get a 120 fps mode in the big 2026 on console, when they did it for d2 in 2021 itself.

u/Leading_Baker2743 18d ago
the legendary Tiger engine marastans were bragging aboutÂ
1
u/SucculentMelon133 17d ago
lmao nobody ever bragged about the tiger engine. shits been an issue since d2 post beyond light at the very least.
also the game engine engineer from the 2023 vidoc seemed to just completely disappeared. dk if he got moved to a diff project by sony b/c i have no idea what engine changes they made for marathon besides all the net recover and server infra.
1
u/Important_Design_904 6d ago
Don't even expect them to fix it. Expect people telling you to get server grade cpu to run it at least decently
18
u/DivineSaur 18d ago
The cpu performance of the game is downright abysmal.
