This Righteous venerable is tired, juniors, every time I make a serious post or work hard on a post, a discussion, its always left with very little comments or discussions.

Even others, if it was just me, I would just brush it off but like sometimes I can find Gems of discussions and very little comments.

Like have people brains become so rotted by slop and tiktok that you can't even sit 2 min to write a comment in a discussion?

Like how tf can somethiing have 500 upvotes and not even 10-20 comments?

All of which are just dumb shitposting.

Like bruh being in a niche is so hard, you have r/ noveltranslations on one hand with a dumbass mod that bans everything he doesn't like

You might laugh at r/noveltranslations but even with 2-3 comments, they write paragraphs, yet here people with lacking braincells cant afford to write 2 lines!

Like people do not know the work that a post, a meme or discussion has, we don't care about upvotes and such, we care about comments so we see what others things and throw ideas around 🤷‍♂️

On the other hand, you have martialmemes where 99% of conversations is just shitposting.

Like 80% shitposting, 20% serious discussion is okay but when its all just shitposting, how can any deep ideas or discussions happen?

Real question on the Gu thing. I get the Gu jar. Do cultivatirs let Gu also inhabit their bodies for any reason. Not the Reverend insanity in their aperture. But more in their actual physical body? Just curious. Its surprisingly hard to find stuff on Gu outside of RI.

RI Gu had its world building different

"Regular" gu insects are just poisonous or have supernatural abilities like mind/body control depending upon the story, and gu cultivators just control them

A Gu poison jar os just a container you fill with all kinds of Gu insects until there's only 1 survivor, which supposedly has earned the strength of all others by dint of devouring them

Most of the people that frequent this place will be LARPers or shitposters. Neither of these types yield a lot of deep discussions.

Well its faceslapping extreme. Your amazing idea was a system focused around every fight being equal in strength. As powerlevels was the main focus of it, and you lay down nothing else beyond there will be faceslapping it doesn't really entice me.

What is the character of the protagonist beyond fist equal in strength? What kind of themes are you trying to express? Powerlevels are important especially in Xianxia, but they aren't the be all and end all of everything and if you want deep philosophical discussion you need to bring up what actual philosophies you are intending to address in it.

If it is just parody of faceslapping, well faceslapping as a genre is already a parody of itself and so unless you have very good execution when it is written there is nothing to discuss.

I will respond seriously though.

For the Ai it actually took a long time to find a free Ai with a good quality, prompts are still hard to make, even using ai to make that very prompt you need to make different variations of the video, none of them worked and they were all bad quality.

As for the video, I made an ai picture with chatgpt then had to find an ai that can move the pic without making a mess, for example, the birds needed to fly properly and even then when i used an ai that was great i used all the credits given when making an account to make a 6s video, then i repasted it in capcut to give the illusion its a long video, literally if you want a 30s video you would need like 10$, the video, I made it in capcut, the text I inputted and kept finding a good font and even the voice had to look through like 20 voices to find the perfect one and then put it into capcut and add the song i found suited it.

Its not much work, but its still 3h of working on a single post and trying to convey a funny idea yet got pretty much no traction.

For that second ai video, that is low-effort but its so well-made because it was made on insta by a chinese guy and it was so high quality thats why it got so many upvotes and comments yet I still complained about not getting comments because if you make no effort on a post, you dont care but if you put in effort then you care that it is well-received.

For the meme, though I posted my favourite novels, I also left a template to make it.

And that meme took effort, first of all, i took like 15 min to find the meme since browsing through them, then edit all the images in capcut, and had to use galaxy ai to modify a few things and remove imperfections.

Yet even then, no one took the template and made their own meme 🤷‍♂️

Others dont even put 10 min in a post 🤷‍♂️

If you also scroll you would find even more bigger posts and funny text posts

My point is this : text posts in this sub are dead, if you dont put a picture or a video then you will receive no traction, and even then people won't discuss the post itself, and even that traction is not guarenteed.

Why?

Because people dont enter martialmemes and scroll, posts simply appear to them while they are browsing reddit; rare are those that enter r/martialmemes by itself and look through posts made by others; even then most are low-effort 🤷‍♂️

Heavily text based posts do still get large amounts of comments and traction. Here are five relatively recent posts which all got long comments. Many of which got lots of long comments.

I know because I participated in all of them.

And so this was just me looking at my comment history.
