Mastiff sized boots!
galleryHi mastiff-fam! We live in Alberta Canada so it gets cold here. I decided on picking up some foot protection for Benjamin so we can extend our walks a little bit and wanted to share that Muttluks fit him perfectly. They make lots of different styles and in these pictures Ben is wearing the fleece lined Muttluks with a leather sole. The size XL is perfect for him and they even make an XXL for the bigger dogs. I scored these second hand on Poshmark and they're so far the best $20 I've ever spent haha. Hopefully this helps someone else realize they'll fit!! Happy New Year!

Baby Maya
Lost our 10 year old Neo 🌈😭. 6 weeks later I see her in a shelter. I didn’t want her goinig to someone unfamiliar with the breed, and she bonded immediately to me.She is extremely emaciated (poor baby) gaining wt after being with us for almost a week. I’m guessing EM mix. She is sweet as pie.

Muzzle recommendations?
galleryI have an 8.5 month old mostly pressa/English mix who's a bit of an exploratory eater 😅. Looking for a muzzle that will fit him now for training and not brake the bank. I plan to get him a custom made when he's fully matured.

Ellie the raptor-mastiff mix
galleryThis is my sweet girl, Ellie. I adopted her on May. Her pregnant mom was dumped by some back yard breeders. She was born in a shelter and her mom and litter were pulled by a rescue several weeks later. She had a skin infection and was a bit malnourished but she made herself right at home pretty quickly. She makes 6 months on 9/1.
The rescue did DNA testing which came back as:
35% Cane Corso and 34% Neapolitan mastiff with a bit of bullmastiff and DDB

Over a month with our handsome guy!
galleryBeen over a month since we adopted our Beau! Love him to absolute pieces. He’s done great with my husband taking him to a local trainer and graduated from in person training sessions. 🥹 has learned to not tug on leash on walks and stays right by our side, no longer barks at other dogs/people on walks etc. We’ve slowly been introducing him to our resident cat and his “prey drive” with him has decreased significantly! (don’t think he was introduced to cats at all prior to us). He’s such a good boy! He’s very in tune with our emotions and protective of us as well. Have had a couple crying sessions where he instantly runs over to me, will bark a little like “DONT BE SAD” and paw at me. So happy I stumbled upon him on the shelters page that day ❤️

Mixed feelings about the Cane Corso
This may be a controversial topic and I’m looking for opinions, experience with the breed & why you love them.
Admittedly I’ve met very few well bred corso’s so this could be swinging my opinion. I love mastiff breeds and I’m seriously considering getting another mastiff.
Currently own a DDB but I’m looking for something with a little more dive, a quicker study & potential assistance/service dog.
I feel the corso has become very popular quite quickly. There are many opinions about ‘what makes a corso’. I’ve checked out the breed standards. Most seem to be slightly different and conflicting.
The corsos I’ve meet generally tend to be reactive in some way, massively vary in size, height and weight.
I’m currently on the fence about the CC, it seems like the cons are outweighing the pros for me at the moment. However, I’m thinking this is due to socials tending to show the bad side & as I said the ones I’ve met seem to be more problematic. I’d love honest opinions, thoughts and owner experiences
Thanks all!

How is a Spanish Mastiff different
I am new to Mastiffs and understanding all of the different breeds. I am looking to buy a home in the near future and raise heritage cattle and sheep in the Appalachian Mountains. I need an LGD that can be good with kids, protect the livestock, and have a good temperament with strangers on the farm.
I grew up with Rottweilers, and my neighbor had a Saint Bernard. Therefore, how are the Spanish Mastiffs for this type of job? Are there any great breeders east of the Mississippi?
Any wisdom or knowledge you can share is much appreciated.

Am I overthinking?
My boy Beau refuses throughout the day to lay/relax on any of the beds I’ve bought him. My biggest concern is honestly just the joint issues he could face from laying on the hardwood all the time. Even as of this past Tuesday he developed a slight limp in hind legs and I’ve just been super concerned since with him laying on the hard floor constantly. Although upon inspection after noticing limp he also developed a rash in pit of groin area so idk if the limp is due to that or not. Vet said he seemed okay structurally just a lil stiff and prescribed cream for rash. Should I just let him lay where he wants and stop overthinking it? Started him on Dasaquin to hopefully slow future joint issues etc.. I just love my boy and want the best for him. At least my senior pup enjoys all the new beds lol. Not seeking medical advice just wondering does anyone else struggle to get their mastiff to lay on a bed when just casually lounging? He goes there for a bit at night once we finally settle/husband is asleep but not for very long lol.

ISO temporary foster for Mastiff mix NE Indiana
galleryHaving to relocate quickly with my children due to DV situation between my mother. Have been working with my doctor to get an ESA letter for him so I can take him anywhere, but until I get that, we are not protected due to his size.
He is small for a mastiff, and full of love. He does not jump, has done fantastic with recall on our property, great with kids but sometimes doesn’t realize his size so he will bump into them sometimes. Will try and play with cats, will chase cats, but WILL NOT attack them. Has not really been around dogs except my moms old ass dog last year before she was put to sleep. Am confident with correct introduction and just a short time, he would do good, especially with a dog that might not pay him the time of day. He does not tear things up except empty water bottles, but only because I give them to him. He will listen quickly when told to drop something he shouldn’t have.
He is not fixed, but he is up to date on shots. I have no problem buying food, toys, treats, and if you are close enough I can come over and clean up poo, walk him, play with him, and anything else involving him. If you are close enough, I literally just need you to house him inside as he would not do well an outside dog. He is crate trained, but he’ll probably be a bit stubborn about going in.
He is my heart and soul next to my kids. I’ve had panic attacks thinking about losing him, the very thing he takes care of for me. I can not consider him a service dog as he is not the best in public, but we are always working on it.
He truly is a wonderful boy. He a stinky, slobbery, perfect boy who wants loved and to play and be close to you at night. This is NOT a permanent placement. I want my dog back, I need my dog back. I love my dog and am heart broken thinking about not having him every day.
I am in the Bluffton, Marion, Muncie, Anderson area and ideally would like to have him close enough to see him regularly and provide you with everything he will need. If you can help or know someone who can, please let me know.
