Muzzle recommendations?
I have an 8.5 month old mostly pressa/English mix who's a bit of an exploratory eater 😅. Looking for a muzzle that will fit him now for training and not brake the bank. I plan to get him a custom made when he's fully matured.

I like baskerville but I don’t attach it to the collar. This is the one I have for my husky/shepard/dane mix dog, it is pretty wide. I think a larger size would fit my mastiff but haven’t tried it. Your post got me thinking I should try that for my mastiffs exploratory eating - but then I would just have to clean shit out of the muzzle and his face.

I only use and recommend Baskerville.

I don't love that they need ro be used with a collar, we have him on a prong for walks and all 3 ( muzzle, flat collar and prong) don't really get along too well.
It's fine for in the yard but we're trying to introduce him to being muzzled in public. Im not worried about aggression but I think it's a valuable skill for later in life.

I am anti-prong and have worked with giant breed dogs with behavioral issues for almost two decades so I have no clue how using a baskerville muzzle with pronged collars would/would not work.
I used baskerville on all my giant breed behavioral dogs for public activity including vet visits without issue so wanted to toss the recommendation out as you were inquiring on a good muzzle .

We are working on manners on the lead but for now the prong jus adds a layer of safety the let's my wife walk him. I appreciate the recommendation. I was just expressing an challenge we've had with that brand.

If you have not tried a sturdy front clip padded tactical harness, I suggest giving that a try for some extra control.

I haven't considered a muzzle but maybe that's the solution for my Boerbel instead of the neighbors hearing me scream THE YARD IS NOT A FUCKING SALAD BAR KLAUS!
