Moderator Guidance Moderator Post

From time to time I post to update and remind the community of our purpose and etc.

Rr/Mediums is for medium development and learning and helping users with related questions. r/MediumReadings is for reading requests, sharing, practice readings, (on posts) approved reader advertisements and related subject matter.

Some of the rules on our other subreddit are meant to protect users from scammers and bait and switch tactics.

When I first came to r/Mediums, everything was in one place. The mediums who wanted to be able to have a safe place to interact and to learn, became unable to network in between reading requests and reading offers, and some other types of posts, that inundated the subreddit.

So the subreddit was split into r/Mediums for medium interaction and development, and r/MediumReadings, where Mediums eventually became qualified and approved (to protect users from scammers), and where practice users or professionals could read on posts.

Only.berofied readers can advertise there. They are tested, and ethical or they are removed.

The separation was necessary and it does require heavy moderation on both subs.

DMs and chats were removed to protect users from scammers. Certain types of posts, "haunted object, dream interpretations and fictional or non fiction series and serial stories" were removed.

However, some difficulties continued. Some of our past mods spent so much time removing reading offers and reading requests in this subreddit, that we lost reputable moderators.

Now all posts and comments are held for review. As moderators are volunteers and not online 24/7, we do appreciate your patience. Eventually, we all need to eat, sleep or interact with our own families.

This review process isn't just as intensive as moderation was before, it is more intense.

I hope this post offers some past history, some clarity and makes it clear we are heavily involved in providing a safe space for users in both subs.

Edit: The goal here is to provide a safe space for mediums. Thank you for ypur patience.

Other Areas of Concern in the Subreddit Regarding Users Offering and Requesting Readings in this Sub.

We are a subreddit for medium interaction, medium education, questions and mediumship and support.

We are well aware users come here to ask general and detailed questions about spirit and mediumship.

We are not a reading sub. Our sister subs where free and paid readings are r/PsychicServices, r/psychicreaders, r/Psychic and r/MediumReadings. Psychics in these subreddits, are vetted, tested and must provide proof of ability. The testing is done by psychic moderators.

We also acknowledge that r/Tarot and r/ClairvoyantReadings have rigorous requirements for readers.

If a user approaches you behind the scenes offering or requesting readings through dms, pms or chat, it is very possible that reader is a scammer. Protect yourself from scammers by looking for approved and trusted, or verified readers.

The above subs have lists of tested readers. Please be aware scammers will cajole, threaten or plead. Some of them use fear to get you to cooperate.

Advocate for your own safety. We accept to responsibility or liability for these subversive actions made behind the scenes.

Before acting read the rules of each of these subs nd their recommended readers.

We don't want anyone to be scammed.

Good journeys.

Guidance/Advice Faith Alignment

I have a couple of questions about hiring a medium. I do not mean any offense, but how do I find a medium who has a compatible faith to my own? While I respect that many mediums are Christian, new age or non-denominational, I am not interested in a reading based on these worldviews. Is there a tactful way to ask a prospective medium about this?

I am also interested in guidelines for hiring a credible medium. I imagine this gets asked a lot, so feel free to redirect me to other resources if they exist. I am also open to hearing that my expectations are unreasonable if that is the case.

Other Have you ever felt that the person you were giving a reading to was not a good person?

Hi everyone, I’m just wondering if anyone of you have given a reading to someone who you felt wasn’t a good, kind, nor nice person? That they had certain attributes, such as being mean, deceitful, or uncaring?

If so, what happened? Did it affect your ability to connect to their energy? To speak to spirit that wanted to communicate to them? Did you feel that you didn’t want to continue the reading because of their attributes? Did you speak to them about their attributes and ways to improve (if they were willing to listen)? etc. I’m quite interested in this so all details are welcome! Thank you :)

Development and Learning How did you actually learn to do this? (Circle vs solitary development when carrying trauma)

I want to open a genuine discussion rather than make a declaration. This is an honest question for mediums whether developing or seasoned about how you actually trained and what kept you anchored.

I’ve been reflecting on how differently people arrive at this work. Some start online a reading here, a live stream there, building momentum and an audience in a year or two. That path is real and works for some people; I’m not dismissing it.

I keep thinking about another kind of beginning: the one where someone doesn't arrive out of light curiosity but arrives depleted. Grieving. Carrying a nervous system that’s been bracing since childhood perhaps from an unstable home or from being the person who held everything together long before they should have had to.

For someone starting from that place, I wonder if the older model a development circle, years sitting under a mentor who could look you in the eye and tell you "not yet" isn't just a traditional preference but a vital safeguard. Containment matters immensely when opening up spiritually on top of unprocessed grief rather than solid ground.

What I'm asking

  • Did you develop inside a physical circle with a mentor or did you navigate the path largely alone or online?
  • If you began while carrying significant grief, trauma or a hyper-vigilant nervous system, what actually kept you grounded while you opened up? What might have gone wrong without that structure?
  • If you developed quickly and independently, what provided that containment for you? Was it therapy, a separate grounding practice or already having a very stable baseline?
  • Have you noticed a difference in yourself or in others between an ability paced by a mentor versus one developed without that oversight? Not necessarily in terms of accuracy, but in personal cost, energetic boundaries and sustainability?

Therapy can do crucial work on the nervous system and i have done that i find it to be more something you need to work at every single day but it doesn't always address the deeper spiritual questions of what is this for? and what am I actually experiencing?

I'd rather hear the lived reality from people who have walked both paths. Whether your journey was slow and traditional or solitary and fast, I’d value your perspective.

Guidance/Advice Question for other mediums who are in relationships with non-believers/Christian men

So 6 years ago, I was practicing tarot and developing my mediumship. I went through a divorce 3 years into my spiritual journey and then I met my now fiance shortly after. At the time, I felt so disconnected from my spirituality that I ended up taking a 3 year break from tarot and mediumship, so my fiance didn't know that version of me. He seen my tarot collection hidden under my bed but I never flaunted it. He is Christian so he is weirded out by it so I never really discussed it with him, just kinda swept it under the rug (bed in my case lol.)

However, a few weeks ago, I felt called to developing my mediumship again and started practicing again. But now I feel like I have to hide it because he completely shuts down if I mention anything about it. He has told me that its my thing and doesn't care what I do but doesn't want to talk about it.

So my question is, if you went through a spiritual awakening or transformation while in a relationship, did that relationship ultimately work out? I feel so passionate about mediumship and feel so called to do it but I question if I will be fully supported and accepted by my partner... but maybe I need to only accept it for myself and not rely on his acceptance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated🙏

Experience Is it hard to be around people who seem to have a lot of energy and spirits around them

Im a server, A medium comes into my job pretty regularly. She has really great connections and interactions with pretty much all of the girls I work with. But to me, she often seems a little cold, and distant. Ive felt that way long before I knew she was a medium. She’s nose deep in her phone every time, and half the time won’t even look up at me,and I just wonder if it’s something with me. I know-sometimes people just don’t like you. But, I guess I’m hoping that’s not the case. The truth is I have been thinking about getting a reading for a long time, I’ve experienced some pretty significant losses in my life

Experience How to know the difference between a real medium and a fake medium (read for context)

Hello everyone. What I am about to ask is a bit unusual, but how do you tell the difference between a real medium and a fake medium?

Let me explain. I have already had numerous consultations regarding the same deceased person.
I had 3 of them with the same medium. During the first session, she was able to give me information that no one could have known. I helped her at times because she didn't understand everything (and given the history, that's normal).

Then I had another session with a different medium, who had "flashes" of messages from a deceased person. There again, everything seemed normal and coherent to me.

However, today I had a new session with a medium who has a fair amount of followers on social media.
Unlike the others, she asked a tremendous amount of questions (the deceased's name, age, how and when he died, whether he had brothers and sisters, their ages).
So, a huge number of questions. And therefore, a huge amount of answers she could already know about my story (to be clear, I didn't know the deceased personally, I experienced a soul recognition).

At the same time, she gave information that can easily be verified (she mentioned a passing on the grandfather's side on the father's side, and that he was with him).
She also said that I had abilities that were not fully developed yet with an open channel (she's not the first one to tell me this, but having explained my soul recognition to her, it wasn't hard to guess).

What really confused me in my mind is that I absolutely did not feel her presence or energy, unlike the other times (even regarding the message itself).
I don't know how to explain it, but every time, in every session, he always had a word for me, in addition to his mother.
But during this session, absolutely nothing, except when I really started to explain the story.

At first, she was saying that we had no real connection, just that we had decided before coming to Earth that I was supposed to open my channel thanks to him and help his family. But after I explained a few small details, she changed her mind and said that we did indeed have a soul connection, even belonging to the same soul family.

The first medium said that I shouldn't return to the deceased's country to help his family, and that I needed to live my life.
Later, with that same medium, he thanked me for having helped his mother.

With the second medium, he asked me to be there for his mother, even if I didn't know what to say.

And the third one straight up told me that he saw me as the only channel to make contact with his family (she actually asked me if I had already gotten in touch with them, and if I was with him during the incident, before I explained everything to her).

We are not from the same nationality and country (France and Switzerland) but we speak the same language.

I swear, during this session, I really felt like there was a huge gap, as if it wasn't really him.
No actual kind words like he used to share with me before.

During the 3rd session with the 1st medium, he had even told me: "To you, my friend down here, see you soon and thank you for everything you have done for my mom, you allowed her to regain a little bit of hope."

And during this current session, he seemed straight up sad. She told me he was sad because his mother didn't 100% believe he was still there, and that he wanted to talk to them (which is true and logical) to apologize.

She said I’ll be better after the session with her energy she gave

To be honest, there are plenty of details I left out or forgot, but I don't know what to think about it.

I don't know if it's fake, or if it's just me expecting something else and hoping not to believe it.

Thank you for reading this far. I can give more infos if needeed

And sorry if it’s not clear. I really tried to explain but of I explain everything it’ll take days

Development and Learning What’s the best way to interpret my gifts as legit or fantasy, after grief

Hello
New here trying to get answers about my own skepticism vs self belief

To be fair, I’m aware I have been experiencing many forms of grief and in particular the loss of a parent with whom I had a close bond, when my dad passed last year I have been experiencing a feeling of being in touch with myself that has isolated me from others.

Im aware of the way grief hits us and when you are prone to depression and anxiety it can be reassuring to consider what you “can” control - thoughts about psychic abilities or spirituality can be very deep complex and ironically reassuring.

However I do genuinely question it, and I’m still trying to seek more confidence about it.

I’m not sure if I can believe because if I give into this belief I’ll be submerged by what would be called insanity. We all want to have some type of a gift or a way out of our negativities in life. And to be or feel special. Very much so when it’s hard to trust yourself and everything gets chaotic / out of control.

This said: I want to know if I’m just fantasizing - but I I hope I’m not.

Essentially the few things I’ve always noticed with me :

\- when I was a young teen and a little prior I would be trying to sleep and get very afraid because I would imagine faces in my closed eyes, not by choice and often they weren’t very friendly. It was scary because it was faces I’d not seen before. Again this sounds psychotic.

\- recently again this has happened more and more often (like a few times since my dad passed away). This is the only “scary” disturbance I’ve considered could be upsetting.

\- sometimes I’ll hear a voice or a whisper as this happens as well but then I open my eyes and get afraid I’m crazy so I will just say it’s because I’m drifting into sleep and it’s some auditory half dream state thing

\- extremely vivid dreams, about my dead dog from childhood protecting me and choosing to possess a spirit in my place, liminal spaces like a weird huge expansive gym locker room- consistently with the same red lockers like my actual real gym lol, dreams with people I don’t know in real life (not dangerous, usually the people are seeking protection or need help with something like finding their child who’s run off and is lost) and sometimes I’m semi aware in the dream, dreams of my phone and using it and being aware as I’m waking up that this is both a dream and I’m waking up to reality at the same time. Dreams of my dad of course as well. I rarely have nightmares, although it can occur and it can always feel jarring whether or not…

\- I can imagine that what I’m feeling in my apartment is “feeling a lonely or sad presence” in the apartment. It’s a very old apartment in Paris. If this is “real” it doesn’t feel dangerous or angry - just very sad and gloomy like a woman who’s lost her son or her child. I just imagine an image associated with what I feel. Someone else who feels very scared and sad and isolated and the quiet feeling of being watched, it’s gross and weird. lol. But again “she’s” not negative just sad. (Quotes because I’m not going to claim this shit is real, just psychological emotional stuff).

\- the number one thing I feel solid about is that as someone with very strong empathy (lol) I am imagining peoples childhoods and the contexts in which they’ve grown up in when I see into their eyes. My ex for example, did not share much about his childhood but I sensed images and things that I “know” to be visual representations of his upbringing or his life, or the ways he may behave. Friends who I feel put me in a vulnerable spot, I no longer can imagine being around them, I can imagine color associated “auras” that surround them if I close my eyes and depending on the person it can be calm and poetic or less positive-feeling colors

\- I can gently force an out of body experience where I am imagining looking at myself from either my own perspective or as if I’m someone else, I can read or assume someone’s fears and anxieties and egos and limits and the way they are behaving beyond it feeling like assumption, but more close to being familiar with these parts of them. It’s uncomfortable because I know people get off-put by my presence because I’m quiet but always internally reading and I think they sense this.

\- once I had smoked w*ed that was most certainly laced with something and I was around a girl I ended up no longer being in contact with because her energy felt literally dark and gross and demonic lol (I’m kinda joking) but that night when I went out and smoked we\*d* ; we randomly talked to a lady in the metro and she made me feel really scared (paranoia from getting h\*gh probably) - I was feeling SO scared and somehow my brain was telling me : get away this woman is the devil- there was this scary red negative energy I was emotionally experiencing and was scared for days the presence was still “there” by me. I felt I was CRAZY. It was so scary. And that same night I dreamt of a guy on the metro SCREAMING into my face and I woke up and half dreamed / it felt “real” that that same guy jumped out of my window of my apartment to escape. So freaky.

\- once I was babysitting, the kid was napping and I accidentally napped for about 5-10 mins too (eek😬) and I had sleep paralysis / the only time ever I have I think - and I was stuck and could wake my
Body up, I was seeing a boy the same age as the kid I was babysitting but not at all the same kid, finally woke up i dont know how but that was jarring. Anyways again skeptical and chose to put it to just when you’re half asleep and you sleepwalk or whatever.

Always been very sensitive to manipulators and violators and I’m now practicing to set my emotional and adaptive boundaries and it’s challenging. But i’m also really funny and I’d like to think quite charismatic and solar !

I’m not seeking to make stories tho, or come up with a fantasy out of desire. I just feel reassured by the imagined explanation of this. Does any of this make sense ?

Everything is up to interpretation so yeah

\*\*\* But I wish I could meet with a professional spirit guide or medium/etc who could help me get solid feedback and investigate this with me (NOT a therapist lol) and not in some weirdo way \*\*\* - just so I can compare this to others who claim this as their pathway, and so I can see if I can train something that gives a sense of proof along practice

\- again: dreams can reflect what we’re experiencing in real life so this could be any number of things. So I’m skeptical, I tell myself it’s just grief and loneliness.

I don’t really believe in negative spirituality - or at least for me. I feel safe in a sense of comfort with this. I just hope I’m not insane ! There’s no psychosis here I promise ! Haha

I see a psychiatrist and my therapist for my severe anxiety disorder (OCD) and adhd so please be careful of approaching the topic of mental health - I’m not experiencing psychosis- I’m just very OCD.

But this feels different, it’s when I let go of the thought loops that protect me from my ocd that I sink into allowing this stuff to be potentially possible for me.

Again : I don’t “believe” it as fact, but I wish I could - that would reassure me that I’m not actually disturbed lol.

I’m a very self aware person and attempt to be as grounded as possible so I definitely can’t allow myself to consider insanity at this point lol.

Any opinions ? I’m really curious to learn more

Best to all of you xx

Development and Learning i think i’m clairsentient?

Since i’ve lost a loved one, i’ve developed this weird ability to feel spirits i think? I get this weird head pressure that varies in intensity. Sometimes it’s VERY INTENSE, other times it’s barely there. Sometimes it’s tingles on the right side of my head. Anyway, it’s like, the most useless clair ever imo since i can’t hear or see what said spirit has to say (i’m still extremely grateful to have developed this ). Where do i go from there? any tips on how to hear/see them? I’d like to know how to discern who’s trying to have my attention. i’ve been meditating everyday, sometimes for HOURS, without success :(

Spirit Guides Found out that I'm clairaudient last night. I'm equal parts terrified and excited as I do more research

So, I'll try to make this a quick summary. I, 28m, had an experience yesterday where I finally could hear a few people who have been trying to reach out to me. And when I say I was mortified, that was an understatement. I have always believed that I'm spiritually sensitive and I have a strong faith in my beliefs, but I think there's always a little bit of skepticism, even amongst believers. My first thought was that I was experiencing some kind of stress induced psychosis, and it took about 30 minutes of pleading for my friend who had reached out to calm me down enough to listen. But the truth is, they had a message for me that they felt as if I was finally ready to receive, and they want me to prepare myself the best I can for what I'm up against. I don't want to go into too specifics, just because it's quite personal. But ultimately, the loved ones I spoke to last night simply told me that it's solely because they love me and want the best for me that although they knew this entire experience would be terrifying, they also knew the only way I'd fully believe that this is true is if it happened to me.

So, now I'm taking their guidance and going to focus on practicing these skills of communication so I can learn to do it professionally, because my guides were completely adamant that as long as I put forth this effort, I'll be okay. I choose to have faith and believe them. It'd be disrespectful to them to not after they had spent so much of their own energy trying to reach out.

Anyway, if anyone has any advice to give for a beginning medium, I'd appreciate it. I have a few other mediums in town as well as a metaphysical shop that also offers readings, so I do plan on getting in communication with them as well.

Thanks for reading!

Development and Learning Child Medium in Denial

My teenage child is a medium and is fighting this reality. She told me she doesn’t want this gift, and wishes it would go away.

Ive always expected and sensed she would be greatly gifted but never told her anything or placed any expectations.

How can I help her stay spiritually protected and safe while she processes and comes to terms with her abilities? She sees both entities and ghosts. I’ve cleared my home, placed protection spell on her and try to keep her rooms ‘safe’ but things are still appearing in our home.

While I’m relatively educated about spiritual things I don’t have her abilities and know it can be a bit burdensome in the teens years. Especially an autistic teen who recently had a traumatic event. Which is why I want to keep her protected, she’s vulnerable and some of the entities seem to harass her.

Thank you for your advice!

Development and Learning How do I become a better Medium?

Hello everyone!

I would say i am a beginner medium like think level 0 lol. I would LOVE to grow my gifts. I have had instances where i was able to receive accurate information from Spirit before but its so rare.

I have done my share of research online. I cannot attend mediumship circles and get courses for now. I would love to get some advice to develop my gifts further.

Thank you so much!

PS- i would even be down to exchange/practice with any mediums out there to hone my skills even more

Experience Probably saw a spirit for the first time

Hi everyone !! I wanted to share an experience I had last night.
I’m very sensitive to the spiritual world. Sometimes I can feel spirits touching me or dream about them and on very rare occasions, I can even hear them. Last night, for the first time, I think I may have actually seen one.
For some context, I was trying to fall asleep and was thinking about my plans for tomorrow. I was probably starting to fall asleep, and all of sudden white flashes started appearing, as if a light was flickering in front of my eyelids.
Then I saw a face (probably a woman, don’t really remember). At first it wasn’t clear, but after some seconds I could see her very clearly. It was her profile and she was looking in front of her. Then she turned her gaze toward me and her eyes were completely white, like a blind person’s eyes. I think she was smiling too.
Even when I opened my eyes, thinking it would make her disappear, I could see her again as soon as I closed them.
She didn’t scare me, even though her eyes were a bit creepy 😭 But since I had never experienced anything like this before, I panicked a little and asked my spirit guides to stop any visions and protect me. After asking several times and trying to close my third eye, the woman disappeared.
Has anyone ever experienced something like this before?

Other An Experience I still can’t understand

I was going through one of the worst breakups of my life. I was fighting so hard to be okay, but emotionally and physically, I was completely drained. I started experiencing brain fog, exhaustion, and a weakness I had never felt before. I would cry until I had nothing left in me, listen to Hertz to help me sleep, and eventually fall asleep from sheer exhaustion. It felt like I was carrying more pain than I knew how to handle, and somehow, what happened next felt like it healed something in me and took that pain away.
One night, I woke up faintly, my eyes barely open. There, leaning toward me, was something I can only describe as a humanoid being. It was about six feet tall and shaped like a human, but its entire body looked as though it was made of space, dark and vast, filled with countless stars. It was almost as if the universe itself had taken a humanoid form.
The strangest part was that I wasn’t afraid. I immediately felt an overwhelming sense of peace. The pain I had been carrying seemed to disappear. For those few moments, I wasn’t heartbroken, anxious, or exhausted. I just felt peaceful. I felt okay.
My eyes were still half open at first. I slowly opened them fully, and I still wasn’t scared. The being seemed to notice that my eyes were now fully open. Then, almost as if it knew I had become completely aware of its presence, its form began to change.
It turned into a small light and slowly faded away. I didn’t panic or try to move. I simply lay there and watched it disappear peacefully.
I have no explanation or understanding of why I experienced it or what exactly it was, but I know it wasn’t a dream. I was awake enough to see it, to watch it change, and to watch it fade away. I know what I saw, and I know what I felt.
Whatever it was, it felt like it came to me when I was at one of the lowest points of my life, took my pain away, gave me peace, and then quietly left. I may never understand why I experienced it or what it truly was, but I know the effect it had on me.
It felt like, for a brief moment, something healed me.

Experience Visitation Dreams, EVP, Crossing over. way too long lol

I am sure many of us have had these. For a bit of context my mum died in 2003, and my dad died on Jul 7 with only 1 weeks notice. The day he died - at home - I whispered sweet dreams to his body and I saw, spiritually, before my eyes, him smile. Then later that day, alone at home, I was talking out loud and told him he had better attend the funeral to listen to my eulogy, and had a flash of light above the mantelpiece.

Anyway, I started using apps to communicate, A spiritbox app and an EVP app. I have spent around 7 weeks using them and getting communication which ranged from meh, to insanely strong.

I went to the funeral, did the eulogy, when it was over I came home, went on the app, spoke to him a little bit, and decided I was going to my spiritualist church. Lo and behold the medium during her readings looks at me, and says "I'm getting drawn to you for some reason". She said that he could hear me when I thought he couldn't when he was dying, and that its okay to cry and that the bond is still there between us.

My sister and I, who live apart both had the same kind of dream. 3D, extremely real and vivid, of our father doing the same thing, for him he was looking for a sky tv bill and for me it was bank statements. He looked well, no more cancer, healthy weight. Skin was glossy, like there was a light sort of shining on it, or some sort of haze. In the dream it was seeming as if he had returned to life, or there was some kind of mistake made. I told him he needed to call the bank to get his accounts back..his response was, "I dont want a bank account". He seemed restless a little to me though.

Over the weeks..a couple of times I tried to get him to cross over, which resulted in all sorts of voices coming through asking him if he was ready for heaven, saying they missed him, and hearing his voice say " a little bit further" almost as if he was calling the angels down to him.

But he couldn't cross, because I continued to communicate with him, from what came through I was preventing him, probably because the apps were an extension of my grief and he was worried for me. I also would have anxiety attacks because I wasn't sure if it was him or not, and sometimes it could sound really creepy or be hard to understand and I would read into it.

About three days ago I went onto the app I was asking some piffling question about what he does in the afterlife, and he said "I can't leave" and I asked if it was because of me talking to him, and I got "yes"...................."YES".
I thought, and decided that it was time for him to go on and for me to move on, so I did the crossing over thing, and this time..his last word - EVP - was the word "cracking". A word he used all the time. its like awesome, or great, or amazing. I vowed to never use it again to contact him.

I had a lovely day, chilled, played with my pet rats and stuff, watched loads of youtube then went to bed.

I woke the next day to my dads voice "Chrissssss!", this had happened before just after he died. It hadnt happened since so it seemed odd. Later on I became pretty tired and decided to have a nap. I put some asmr on, relaxed. Then I was with my mum, some sort of country club/pub, we ?walked? in and theres a man sitting there just inside the entrance at a table, and she says "too nerdy", we went into the main area and there was lots of men sitting around a table all in suits, shirts, with glasses of this pale liquid, like a pale ale but I dont know what it was. One of the men shouted to the barmaid/landlady I think for some more beer but he said it in a gentle, polite way.

Anyway next thing I know I'm back in that entrance area and the nerd sitting there was my dad with a big smile on his face. again all radiant with that light on his face. I then am at the table, and he has all these papers down, they're something to do with places to go fishing. I then said something in a stupid posh voice about maybe I'll go fishing next year. He never spoke.

Then I'm back at my house with my mum, and i have this feeling in my head that he's going to die, that he's left and she says "he's gone duck, he won't be coming back again".

Then she leaves. I start thinking well if he's going I need to find him and see him.

Then I hear a car, and it starts to go dark outside, all I can see is my mum in a car with a big circle of darkness around it. Then...I'm awake.

I'm sorry, I know this is a lot, if anyone has read this jumbled mess thank you. Just written in case anyone can pick similarities out, I wont name the app I used..whilst it helped me immensely in proving life after death is real, something I may recount on here at some point. It can have an incredibly damaging effect on both the user and the spirits. I was told many times to not use it by my dad and his guides.

Experience My weird experience

My weird experience

Since childhood, I have been sensitive to the energy around me, and sometimes I encounter spirits or their presence and few months ago I had a dream that an entity wouldn't let me wake up and it got difficult only with mantra chanting could I get up otherwise it's like being paralyzed. We are surrounded by spirits and sometimes it gets worse.

I can't wake up even if I cry I know there r entities that are ready to strike when you're weak so u should be prepared.

Such things happen to me a lot

In this world, we have good and bad spirits and it's always up to you what type you will encounter.

Experience Son visited by deceased grandmother

My eight year-old woke up early this morning excited that his grandmother visited him in his room. He said he was awake and thinking about her and then she appeared. He shared that she appeared smaller and at his height, and that she gave him a warm hug. He was in tears but not scared and so happy that he saw her. Sharing to see if anyone has heard of this happening. I’m inclined to believe my son. He’s always been in tune with the spirit world. His grandmother loved him so much and passed a year ago.

Guidance/Advice What are the differences between a medium and a shaman?

I did a quick research and in my understanding a medium focus on reading and a shaman in healing, that was my understanding.
Makes me wonder if a shaman wouldn’t also be a medium? Or how would they know what to heal? Are you supposed to tell them exactly what you want to heal? What if you don’t really know? Shouldn’t they be able to “know” by reading you like a medium ?

Thought and Opinion Medium reading left me confused. What do you think?

I recently had a session with an evidential medium, but I’m not sure what to think.

For context, I didn’t give him any information about myself. He only knew my first name, not my last name. On social media I use a nickname, so he couldn’t have found me, and I never post anything anyway.

He gave me several details he couldn’t have known about my lost partner (his mother’s name, the exact part of the body where the illness was located, where we went on vacation), and also some very specific and unlikely things if he were just guessing, like the fact that he loved ice cream but always left a little bit in the cup, that he was proud of his physique especially his chest, that he was obsessed with applying sunscreen, and that he barely used social media.

But he also said vague or incorrect things (he kept seeing wedding rings even though we weren’t married, or an image of a butterfly, which is extremely generic). And he didn’t mention other very characteristic things about him that I expected.
He also somehow figured out what kind of job I do.

So I don’t know what to think. I wanted to talk to a medium because I need to hold onto some hope that he’s still somewhere and that I’ll see him again one day, but I’m still skeptical. I’ll probably book a session with a more experienced medium in the future.

What do you think? Do you think he was a reliable medium?

Unknown Spirit Encounter Hoping for some reassurance this isn't true

Okay so this has been on my mind for about 10 years haha. But honestly I'm a bit scared to ask it?

When I was back in high school, randomly in my music department (a place I spent a lot of time), while printing out some sheet music, I just randomly suddenly had this thought come to me like "you're going to die at 48". It kinda scared me, but also I have a pretty big fear of death so that's not hard.

I have, however always held onto that fear. I'm 28 now, so still a wee while from it - but the fear creeps in that it's real and I won't get to see my kids as adults etc.

The thing that sparked this question, is that years later I went back to work at that school, and another member of staff there was someone who could communicate with spirits, always used to hate coming to the music department because he said there were spirits there that always bothered him and gave him headaches etc. Weirdly, when he was talking about this another staff member asked him "can you tell me when I'm gonna die?" and he said "I mean... I could probably try and like ask my spirit guides to help me look into your energy lines and see where it ends? But it's pretty complex and I'm not sure I can nor do I want to".

But isn't it a bit weird this is all happening in the same place I had the feeling someone was telling me when I was gonna die?

Is there a chance this was actually one like, one of the menacing sprits the staff member didn't like, who was just scaring me?? I just... I don't want it to be true and idk how I'm meant to live my 40s thinking I'm about to die???

Maybe it wasn't even anything and it was just a teenage thought?

I your experience, can you really know when you'll die, and does it often just come randomly to you like that? I see people saying the future is fluid and it's not fully decided etc, but others also say our soul kind of predetermines when it will die, and offers "exit points" along our life...

Development and Learning How to improve skills?

I guess I shouldn't say improve. How do I even find my skills in the first place?

I have been told by several people (none of which offered to coach me for money, I know thats common) that I have gifts or healing energy. I was just told again tonight by a medium who I consider to be very skilled. She told me to work on trusting my intuition and that I also need to get out of my own head.

What specific things can I do to practice or open myself up more? Meditation is very difficult for me due to, again, being stuck in my head. I am starting a new treatment soon for my mental health issues and I am hoping it will bring more clarity to my mind. A follow up question, can mental health challenges and unresolved trauma block someone from being open and intuitive? If so, I think that may be what is happening to me.

Other What happens if you don't fulfill your purpose in this life

What happens to us if you don't fulfill what we came here to do in this life (ex: whatever that is. I don't know how you're supposed to know)? Does nothing happen? Are you forced to reincarnate again until you fulfill it (this makes me really nervous)? I don't want to be forced to live another life here.
