Weekly Help "Weekly All About Love Relationship Second Opinion and Interpretation Help Thread - August 30, 2026"

After receiving feedback from the community, we’re putting this weekly thread in place on a trial basis dedicated solely to love relationship readings.  Examples of questions that can be posted here are:

  • does he/she/my FWB love me?
  • what are this person’s feelings/intentions towards me?
  • is he/she coming back?
  • will we reconcile?
  • should I break no contact?
  • we just broke up, what now?
  • what will my future spouse look like?
  • what does my love life look like in the next 3 months?
  • why is my ex texting me again?
  • my ex keeps calling me, what should I do?

Please note that we, the moderators, are trying this out as an experiment and will determine at a later date if this dedicated thread should become a permanent feature in the sub.   We will also use our discretion as to which readings belong here in this thread, and which will remain on the main sub.  That will depend upon the complexity of the question as well as how close it adheres to rule no. 3 about posting.

If you are requesting help by asking a second opinion or interpretation help, please comment using the following format:

Stories I tried doing my own tarot spread as a non believer/non spiritual and got extremely called out, now don‘t know what to believe

I like witchy aesthetics and when I first thought of getting a tarot deck I thought it would help me finding out more about myself, as a thought starter for journaling. I did one of the tarot spread ideas you find on pinterest about calling yourself out and finding whats holding you back atm. I did the spread and tried to guess what its trying to tell me by looking at the cards (I got a cheap deck at a crafts store, it has no guidebook and I think the images themself dont have a lot of symbolism, I just got it because it looked cute and was cheap) and trying to interpret them. I thought it was about something that happened recently and didnt really affect me but thought maybe that thing will be more important or that I should be more open minded. Basically the question was what I‘ve been doing wrong and the card said judgement so I thought maybe I‘ve been too judgy and need to be more open. This was a weird read to me because I would think I am really open minded and I dont remember the last time I judged anyone for something. I continued like that for the other cards. I wrote my thoughts down and thought, well, why dont you try looking up the meanings and what they could mean in relation to your questions. When I looked it up, the meanings were completely different to what I thought it could mean. It also talked about being avoidant about something and I dont want to go too deep into the rest of the reading since its personal but I was shook at how accurate it was. I sat there quietly for a moment because I still cant believe how much sense the reading made and how accurate it was. I feel very weird because I‘m a huge non believer when it comes to supernatural things, I believe in science and I‘m not religious or superstitious. I think manifestation is real in the terms of you wanting something so you think about it and therefore take actions to get it, or notice the thing more easily. But the tarot spread was so incredibly accurate I‘m still shook. I don‘t really know how to feel about this right now, but the cards also told me to take action about the thing I‘ve been avoiding, but its one of those things where you dont know how to do it. Do I do another spread? Are there any tarot readers here that aren‘t spiritual but still practice? Or is this my sign to maybe look into spirituality?

Discussion What does everyone think of the different Tarot attributions that exist?

For those who don't know, there are different systems for attributing the tarot cards to parts of the Tree of Life. Each of the trumps or major arcana represent one of the 22 branches of the Tree of Life and there are conflicting systems for where they should be placed, what order they should be placed in, and even what planets, zodiac, or elements each card should represent. The 5 main attributions that exist are used in the tarot decks created by: Marseilles, Levi, Golden Dawn/Rider Waite, Crowley, and Achad

When I first started really learning about tarot, I discovered the competing attributions that exist. It's always made me uncertain of if I've been using the right one, if there even is a "right" one, or if there have been other more modern attributions that have been created that I just don't know about yet. I've even tried to make my own attributions of the tarot to see if I could discover one that makes sense, yet there's always some aspect that foesn't line up quite right. I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on all of this

Theory and Technique Monkey mind...

When pulling the cards its like a war:

"Pull one from the end"

"No, not the end, you need to feel it"

"Take the lighter edged one"

"Take the one hiding beneath its neighbor"

"Reverse it"

"No! You already shuffled and it would ruin the reading and once you uncover the card, it is a done deal!"

"Would you choose already?!"

"You're choosing too fast so its not accurate enough."

I made a dictionary by pulling 3 cards for certain common concepts like relationship, basement, car, cheating, alcohol, book...

Hoping to get somewhat of an objective representation for each concept.

I noticed the influence of my view point /current belief system /current association for that concept materializing in my spread.

I want to be able to get a much cleaner answer, like the chariot and 8 of W and 6 of W to repreaent a car.

I don't want to think about a car crush and then see that in the cards, that is how I lose the added value of the cards.

Instead of divination I get manic-monkey mind manifestaion.

So some people use the jumping cards to avoid all this..

But this monkey runs and jumps fast and already is waiting for me in the interpretation stage

When I did readings to clients via reddit, I mannaged to be very accurate (some of the times), I believe the reason being the anonymity and due to the fact I gave them for free so felt less pressure/fear from having mistakes.

My request from you would be recomendations for books/exercises/meditations I can practice in order to tame this lion(monkey) without a fight.

And anything you may wish to share!

Thanks a lot!

Stories Something I’ve noticed since opening my mind to tarot cards and readings!

I wonder if this applies to anyone else, but I feel even more deeply connected with spirituality since getting my first ever in depth reading. My weekend was spent wallowing and pure laziness, my anxiety was through the roof, and I desperately just wanted something good to happen after what felt like so many negative sequences of events… I begged for something (nothing particularly specific) good to happen to me, then bam, I have a new highlight of my month, I had so much fun, made new friends, met so many people, etc! I feel like this interestingly timed things are happening more often when I request for it, whatever reason it is, I am grateful, Is this just a me thing?

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only I’m not sure if there is more that I’m supposed to take away from this reading relating to my job search.

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hello! This is my first time posting in this sub, so please let me know if I need to fix anything with my post! Deck is The Lover’s Tarot by Jane Lyle and is my oldest deck.

So, I am currently looking for a new job that will pay better, be closer to family, and provide long term financial security for my husband and myself. The question I asked was what actions I may need to take relating to my job search and how it all relates to my recent dreams? For context, I have had some very detailed and symbolic dreams recently. I chose to do a celtic cross to really dive deep into this question and what is happening in my life.

From what I gather, the empress means I am currently filled with ideas but also in need of patience. The high priestess means that I need to start paying close attention to my dreams and intuition moving forward. That whatever is going to happen may not seem particular grand at first but will actually have a lot to offer me and help me grow. The knight of swords is suggesting I am approaching a time of change, but I need to make sure to pay attention to all the fine details while it is all happening. Also, that my past may be important in connection to whatever change is to come. The seven of swords suggests that the period I went through of feeling like I would not succeed in accomplishing my career goals may be behind me. The lovers signify that whatever choices I needed to make to accomplish my goals have been made. That I have set things in motion to make accomplishing my goals happen. The six of swords then supports this as my future looks less stressful and peaceful. That everything will be moving in the direction that will bring me what I need. The knight of cups representing myself symbolizes my desire to settle down and find a position that I may be able to find permanence in (or will help me find a permanent position). The four of pentacles represents my goals and aspirations to provide for my husband and myself. With the ace of cups present, it further empathizes how important I view accomplishing my career goals and how badly I want to do it. The lovers being present also contribute to this. The act of cups does further affirm that I am headed in the right direction to accomplish my goals. With the ace of pentacles as the outcome, I believe this suggests that I will accomplish my goals if I continue on my current path. That I will find a position that will provide for my husband and myself, while also fitting within the goals I have set for my own career.

So, overall, my main takeaway is that I am working really hard at accomplishing my goals and am on the right path. It will be important from now on to listen to my intuition and pay attention to the symbolism of my dreams to help guide me. Ultimately, I will accomplish my goals and secure a new job that will provide for my husband and myself, but I will need to pay close attention to the details going into it. The hardest part of my job search may now also be over.

I’m curious if maybe I missed anything, or if my interpretation seems sound. With the lovers and ace of cups present with the knight of cups, I feel like there may be something more that I’m supposed to understand from this. Thoughts?

Discussion What card(s) would you put in your wallet?

I’m looking into buying a card holder and want to make the cover a photo of a tarot card. I’m thinking about 9 of pentacles for wealth, or the empress because she’s associated with luxury.

Spreads Introductory Spread For Use With New Decks?

I just acquired what is essentially a novelty deck...one themed around a pop culture IP. It's probably not one I'd actually use very much, but in the little book that accompanies the deck, the author recommends doing a specific reading the first time you use...a 5 card spread where each position is keyed to a specific question you're asking the deck about itself. Roughly:

1) What mindset should I be in while working with you?
2) How can I best learn from you?
3) What are you especially strong at, as a deck?
4) What are you especially weak at, as a deck?
5) What does the future of our relationship as reader and deck look like?

I don't recall seeing this suggestion anywhere else, but I like the idea quite a lot. Is this a recent innovation, or have any of you seen similar recommendations?

Discussion How do you start a tarot (commonplace) journal for real?

I've been practicing tarot for two years and been attempting to compile a sort of commonplace book for tarot as well as other aspects of my spirituality. Every time I just give up, because there's so much information I want to process and write down. I typically just recycle the journals into junk art journals as I'm a bit OCD when it comes to this.

What I want to include in my journal 100 percent so far:

Card meanings, song lyrics and poetry, tarot history, color and smoke magic.

Do you have any ideas or examples you could share on how to successfully start a journal that you can always go back to even years later?

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only 5 of swords keep appearing

Post image
106 Upvotes

Hi, I’ve been in a difficult situation lately. In health, love, and friendships. My ex and I have been on and off for a good three months and it has really drained me. Now I’m alone, my health condition made it apparent to me how desolate my future dating life will be. Also, since my ex and I have been in a very codependent relationship, I don’t have that many dependable friends left to talk to.

I’m thinking that this card tells me that I have been successful in asserting myself in situations but in return, I lose the people I care for.

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only Interpretation guidance

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hi.

I have been working quite hard at work with the intention of the management in my office recognising my skills, and hopefully putting me forward for progression in my specialist area. At the beginning of the week, I did a lenormand reading for what to expect, which suggested lots of small opportunities to prove myself but I need to take care not to burn out or overdo it.

This is the reading I have done at the end of the week with tarot, where I asked what the impact my actions this week at work have had on the way the managers see me, and my career trajectory in general. I struggle a bit with spreads so I read the cards almost chronologically, so Card A leads to Card B which leads to Card C. If that makes sense.

I got the Ace of Pentacles, 2 of Cups, The World. Using my white cat tarot by severino baraldi

I interpret the ace of pentacles as a new financial or career opportunity, embarking on something new which brings prosperity. I feel like the meaning in this context is fairly clear, that I will be offered a new role or responsibility at work that will either be progression or will very much lead to it. In my 'chronological' spread it also makes sense, that the new opportunity will lead to the rest.

The 2 of cups I see as emotional stability and feeling content and happy with ones circumstances. Often I see it as being happy in a relationship, but whenever I see this card I just feel comfortable and happy. I interpret this as the new opportunity leading to feelings of belonging and happiness in the new role.

The world I see as a big accomplishment, the summation of all the hard work I put in and it finally paying off in a big way. It being the final outcome in my spread tells me that, perhaps the changes or opportunity may seem small at first but the impact it will have on my career is significant, that I'm on the right track to accomplish exactly what I want in my career.

The only way I can read this as a whole is that I'm going to be offered a new role that aligns with all the work and effort I have put in, and that I'm going to love it and love myself for achieving it. I can feel proud of myself right now for all the work I have done (cause I am exhausted after all the effort I have put in), and I can take my days off now to just relax without worrying that I haven't done enough. The words that keeps coming to mind when I look at it are 'balanced and calm'. It feels almost surreal, like when something so positive happens to you that it feels dreamlike.

However I am fearful that I am so biased or hopeful, which may skew how I'm reading the cards. I'm also not very experienced with cartomancy or tarot, I can find it a bit difficult to get my head around. Would you guys agree with my interpretation, or do you see something else? Hopefully I have given enough detail to explain how I have read this, both as individual cards and as a spread as best I can. I'm still learning :)

Shitpost Saturday! Watch out for Maneo Studio

I just had an ad pop up for Maneo Studio. Some nice looking decks with cool designs. I hit a little sticker shock when I started looking at their different decks, with most being $80 to $100+. It got even worse when I realized buried at the bottom of their descriptions, that most of their decks are made with generative AI. Just wanted to give a heads up so no one gets swindled by overpriced AI slop

Discussion The Lion on Strength

I’ve been especially drawn to the strength card lately, and have to check it every deck I look at to see if it feels right. This got me wondering if there is a specific purpose the lion symbolism or would any large, dangerous predator work provided it still depicts the struggle and truce. I mostly work with Lenormand cards, and I know that changing the deck can have some h foreseen consequences because, for example, a hippo doesn’t share quite the same connotations as a bear (see Egyptian Lenormand). How does your interpretation of the caed change if it’s a wolf or a hyena instead of a lion?

Shitpost Saturday! Things to release from my life - The Sun?

Post image
274 Upvotes

I did a release and retain spread from a book, thinking it's only two cards, so should be easy to read.

Release: The Sun

Retain: Strength

Strength is quite self explanatory, it's also the same card I pulled last night when I asked for advice, so I guess it's an important message for me right now.

But what am I supposed to release with the Sun? If I was some positive happy person, I'd interpret it as getting rid of toxic positivity, but I'm far from that. I see The Sun as a very positive and happy card, it doesn't really describe me as a person and I can't relate to it much, so not sure how to read it in this question. Pretty sure it's the first time I pulled it.

The book says that if a Major Arcana appears in either position, it represents a significant area of development, so I'd like not to ignore it but I really don't get the meaning of it.

Have I been blind to the nature of this friendship? Is it time to say goodbye or try to resolve and continue building it?

Would sincerely appreciate the wisdom of anyone who can share. I am new to this! I feel like I have been deceived a bit and that I should let it go, but I am questioning myself. I don’t want my ego to get in the way.

Thanks in advance!

Shitpost Saturday! Decks

Post image

My friend got me this deck but I noticed a few things.

  1. It says knives instead of swords
  2. It’s not designed for reverse. The back of the cards have a decor that shows when a card is upside down, and also there are no reverse option in the little book it comes with.
