They suggest reallocating one traffic lane from Mitchell Street and View Street to a new tram route. Confusingly, they suggest battery powered trams which I don't think we have ever made or imported to Victoria.

I'm have noticed over the last week which I'm been really happy about is the Frankston line my line has more x'trapolis and edi-rail comengs than Alstom comeng and Siemens on the Frankston line

Werribee, Williamstown and Sandringham lines are mostly ran by Siemens and alstom comengs only seen a few x'trapolis run on the Werribee and Williamstown lines since the timetable changes

Also on the Craigieburn and Upfield line have been mixed between Edi-rail and alstom comengs and Siemens as well

Looks good, though it doesn't look like they cleaned or re-painted the walls, which is a shame.

Soft rule to make the list is that you can see or hear the trains or station while drinking on the premises. I’m going to leave out licenced restaurants/cafes and anything that closes before 22:00 on a weekend. Ideal place in my book is one for a few pre-drinks/meeting point before catching the train or a couple of quiet ones after getting off the train after work or dinner in the city.

I’ll start the journey at Sandy. The Sandringham Hotel is more Beach road orientated and not really worth the visit anyway. Sidebar – on Station St with views of the station building from the outdoor seating or seats by the window but separated by the road and parking. Worth a visit, good food menu, extensive wine selection. It is a drink-in bottle shop, but blurs the line to a restaurant.

Next stop Hampton; The Hampton Hotel just qualifies, it backs onto the train line, bougie pub for a bougie suburb.

Brighton Beach Hotel less bougie that Hampton, historic pub, great views of the bay from the function room upstairs, beer garden on the station side has views of the sidings but interrupted by a large carpark.

Middle Brighton has the Half Moon bay pub with a balcony overlooking the tracks, right across the road from the platforms, solid choice and one that is typical of the Sandy Line. Also at this stop is La Petite Société , for the locals who spend their summer in the French riviera, but this is almost on platform 2 so the screech of a Comeng will make sure you don't imagine you're back in France for too long. North Brighton has Hotel Brighton which you can view the trains from tables on Bay St and Mothers Milk (a bar/lounge).

I don’t know any at Gardenvale so we skip to Elsternwick, Goat House is almost in the station, a bit more of a restaurant but open late, across the park is the Rifle Club, used to frequent a fair bit, not sure what its like now. Since we’re on tram routes now, I might stretch it to include Antique Bar a bit further from the station, but one of the best Guinness in Melbourne.

Ripponlea Food and Wine deserves a mention here, nice views of the level crossing.

I don’t think Balaclava has one…but I think the building on the corner of Nelson and Carlisle Sts used to be a pub?

Windsor gets the first railway named pub ‘The Railway Hotel’, most (in)famous for the 24/7 bottleo attached.

Prahran’s Station Hotel is closed and we are all worse off because of it. The Prahran Hotel is on the High St Tramline and within spitting distance of the line, albeit not near the station.

South Yarra is a bit light but would have to mention the Godby Hotel next to the station, overpriced and either too busy or too empty, like most of Chapel St now.

Richmond, has too many choices. But for Gunzels the Richmond Club Hotel must top the list. The Burnley local down tracks are directly overhead.

Likewise at Flinders St has a bunch of options, Young and Jackson is a cliché for a reason, and sitting upstairs by a window facing the station is iconic.

At Southern Cross gotta mention Platform 28 inside an old goods siding/warehouse?

The underground loop and metro tunnel stations don’t really lend themselves to this list but honourable mentions to the Oxford Scholar and Imperial Hotel which can see the entrances to State Library and Parliament respectively.

Guess I should just go fuck myself? Pretty cool not being able to reliably get to work and get home at a reasonable time.

Anyone know where I could get the Metro Trains Siemens Nexas cutout? There were some at Newport but now they’ve run out. If anyone knows where to get them it would be great. Thx.

Given the unfortunate frequency of kangaroo collisions by cars, I presume our regional trains must also encounter kangaroos, wombats and other large wildlife fairly frequently. If a collision occurs, is the driver required to stop and inspect the train for damage, call it in so someone can check the pouch etc?

Doesn’t provide increase of services, as bottleneck still exists post Sunshine. Diesel still can’t run in metro tunnel. Even bi mode.

Trains would arrive close to the end of her term, which is 2030 (at the earliest based on length of XT2 implementation).

Existing HCMT can run on melton line. Those smarter than me pls elaborate more or correct anything I may have said.

I do recall Victoria having atleast 2 types of hybrid trains where one looked like an A class train with a pantograph and the other train being some coal hauling train with 2 pantographs.

So 94 LX are ' gone for good" according to the Big build press release. So 16 to go then to get to 110? But I count 18 to go- is it because some crossing closures aren't counted the same way as a LX removal by replacing it with a structure? Seems a bit of a muddle in numbers.
