SELLING My list price is my offer. Buy it or send yours
Yea I’m not gonna negotiate against myself as a seller lol especially when the item is already on sale.

Has anyone had their package rejected by the post office recently due to “unpaid postage” on a Mercari prepaid shipping label? I know this was an issue in the Spring that was resolved but this is my first time encountering the issue. How did you get it resolved?

Sometimes i will get candy thrown in with my order, it is a nice gesture but I just never trust it because you never know what someone might have done to it. Especially from a complete stranger on the internet. Was wondering if anyone trusted the candy thrown in their package if they got it😂

Hi, so to keep it short i sold something to buyer but then they didnt like condition so i accepted the return and the package got delivered but i didnt have time to check my mailbox since i was out of town. I came back yesterday but i dont have the parcel and cant even access the tracking code now. What do i do? It sucks that they only give you a day to confirm the return but buyers get 3 days to rate smh…

Hello again! Not the worst issue but it does bother me. I have been an active Mercari user since 2019 and am coming up to 600 ratings. I have a notification which I can’t figure out how to clear. I have the badge and other notifications on because I like to promptly respond to any offers, etc. this notification is persistent, despite scrolling down to read everything and refreshing it hasn’t gone away for more than 3 days. It is not in the message tab it’s in the notifications tab. Help?!?

i had an item delivered to a buyer today, they requested a return once delivered & not even 20 minutes later it was approved with no explanation or return of my items. im so confused, how does this happen?? am i misinterpreting?
UPDATE : unfortunately although i packed the items using the guidelines & took pictures mercari ultimately sided with the buyer. sad to lose the money & the items but i'll just take this as a lesson for next time.

been looking for a certain lps that sells around 30-35$ but I keep missing out every single listing since peoppe like to overcharge it for 40-50$ (and it actually sells still), so I asked someone if they had it. They said they did so I asked how much and they said they didn’t know the worth. So I offered 35$ (which is what it sells for often but those listings always get sold quickly) and they said no they would only do 50$ since it was from their personal collection
dude you just said you don’t know the worth

Maybe this is stupid to bring up in here
Omg guys! You have just 3458 minutes to get it! It just makes it look ridiculously long
I swear it used to be an hour minute and second countdown not just minutes and seconds right?!

Had an item sell on Depop, then sell again on eBay about an hour later, because autodelist hadn’t caught the first sale yet. This is a paid Gold-tier feature specifically sold to prevent double sales.
Asked support how it actually works. Turns out autodelist isn’t a background service running on their end it’s a browser extension that has to be actively polling from \*your\* machine. Per their own requirements: your computer has to stay on and unsleeping, Chrome has to stay open, the extension has to stay active, and you have to stay logged into every marketplace in that same browser. If any of that lapses, sale detection and delisting just… wait until it’s active again. That gap is what caused my double sale.
When I asked why they don’t just run this server-side instead of depending on customers leaving their own laptop on 24/7, the answer was “it’s not that easy.” Fair enough for platforms with tighter restrictions, but that doesn’t explain why it’s built this way even on marketplaces without those limits.
Also worth knowing: their Vinted integration wasn’t TOS-compliant, and multiple users (myself included) got banned for “bot activity” as a result. Support’s response was that most bans aren’t permanent — mine is.

Some people are just so disappointing
I JUST moved to a new state
I haven’t been buying much on Mercari honestly for the last few months and have been buying and selling a lot on depop and vinted
I updated my delivery address as soon as I signed my lease on depop and vinted bc I’ve been getting all decor for my new place from there.
WELL I forgot to update my address on Mercari
My fault, I know.
I was looking for something specific, found it on Mercari for $4, bought it very quickly &
IMMEDIATELY realized my mistake.
I messaged the seller right away and explained I just moved and forgot to update my address on here but I will buy it again right away!! And requested a cancel and clicked the option to change the shipping address
Mind you I have ALL 5 stars on Mercari both as buyer and seller and I have bought MANY things on there. I do not have buyers remorse, I never canceled orders, I follow through, I do what I say, I’m an honest seller AND I’m an honest buyer etc etc I 1000% had full intentions on fixing my address and repurchasing
I mean it was fucking $4
Meaning they’ll make what $3 or less? Idk
They ignored my request. Mercari said if they didn’t respond by sept. 2nd it would automatically be canceled and refunded. So what do they do?
Ignore me for three days and then mark it as shipped like an hour ago.. at 11pm… they definitely didn’t even actually ship it. But now I can’t change the shipping address and will never receive it.
Like they need that $3 soooo bad I guess? that they don’t even care that it will be sent somewhere I no longer live. Mind you they’re doing that for $3 or less when I paid about $12 with shipping.
It’s just so annoying. I would never do that to a buyer but ok I guess

I usually mail envelopes from my mailbox, but today had one taken to the post office. When asked for a receipt for the envelope, the worker said there was nothing he could do and couldn't give a receipt for it or anything. I'm speculating it's because I used a Mercari pre-paid label instead of letting USPS make the label, but I'm not sure. Is it true that you can't get receipts when using pre-paid labels? I know it's recommended to get a receipt in case anything going wrong in transit.

Look out for this new scam email that purports to be from a company called Calendly, despite having no affiliation with the actual company, nor Mercari. Stay safe out there, and don’t click on any links!

i bought a funko keychain and it arrived with the box crushed because the seller just threw it in an a4 size bubble mailer with no bubble wrap securing the item itself (much larger than the keychain so it was free flying around), am i overreacting to give a low star rating for this?
sorry if this is a dumb question i know people take ratings really seriously and ik people block buyers over it as well. also should i dm them telling what happened? i don’t want to get into an argument if they claim it was usps’s fault bc they should have bubble wrapped it or used a box instead.

Anybody else having a wild ride and whiplash from usps packages? This last week I have had multiple orders be sent between regional hubs backtracking half way around the country as well...and my recent packages are taking 5-6+ days past original estimated delivery dates and standard times I know from experience now.

I received a notification that buyer requested return for the item purchased. I reached out to the buyer to ask if there was something wrong but received no response. I had a weird feeling before the sale due to the numerous questions received but just chalked it up as someone who was being careful as they were nice during the interactions.
As the buyer did not respond and Mercari did not show a reason on the app, I reached out to Mercari who informed me that the buyer requested a return because they claim the item was not in the shipment. Before I boxed it up, I had taken photos of the item and showed it in the box before I taped it up. Is there any chance of me winning this case?
I feel that the buyer didn’t respond since they planned to do this from the start.

I shipped a plush backpack. It weighed less than 2 lbs, I measured the box as 12x7x9 myself and UPS claims the box was 16x13x11 and weighed 9lbs.
I’ve been selling on Mercari for a few years now and have made nearly 100 sales. I’ve never had an overage for postage before and I’m really good about double and even triple checking the boxes before sending.
Mercari support asked me to provide photos of the box and I sent them and they still won’t budge on this shipping adjustment charge. I was supposed to get $10.48 for this sale and ended up only receiving $3. It feels a bit silly to be trying to fight for $7, but on the other hand, if this happened to me, it has to be happening to others as well. What’s been most frustrating is the lack of meaningful engagement from support despite the evidence I provided. I just keep getting the same response copy and pasted over and over.
Is there any chance of getting a real person to review this case or is this a pointless battle?

This is our whole conversation and then I was blocked.
Ive never bought custom painted items before so didnt think this was weird to ask.

A item worth less than $7 sold in 7/27/26, today 8/31/26 it shows in my mail box as return to sender written on it "UNC Box Full RTS 8/22" the sale was completed and rated by marcari 8/1/26. The buyer has zero reviews account was just created 2026 stated on his profile. I transfer the money to my bank account already if I hadn't I would of cancel and refunded the buyer. Now I don't know if I should reach out to buyer or just wait for him to reach out. The buyers account still shows zero reviews till today. Any advice?

I had sold a 7 (all new in box) anime figure bundle, where the box I had to use to fit all of them ended up being 30x17x19 inches, weighing 14 lbs total.
Mercari gave me a UPS Ground label for up to 11 pounds, $13.99 buyer-paid shipping. Obviously much lower than what it should've been (around $190 because of dim weight)
Long story short, it just got delivered today to the buyer. I wasn't charged a single penny for shipping overage.
Mercari removed that blog post where they stated that buyer-made bundle overages were covered, which made me very nervous, but it seems they still honor it!
EDIT: To make it clear! I made this post after rating & funds released.

A Mercari seller has been copying my original sticker illustrations, listing images, and my listing descriptions and reposting them on her own account. She keeps adding more.
I’ve documented everything, reported the copied listings through Mercari’s copyright/IP process, and contacted her directly asking her to remove my work. She’s still continuing.
Has anyone dealt with this on Mercari and actually gotten the account taken down? Is there a better way to escalate it when it’s happening across an entire account?

The number of ABSURD lowball offers on Depop and Vinted have made me less discouraged by slower sales on Mercari. Compared to Mercari, people on those platforms are on another level. I can’t remember ever receiving this many ridiculous offers or having to block this many people.
I’ve been selling mostly Japanese stationery (notebooks & paper goods, fountain pens, art supplies, etc.) on Mercari for a few years. I don’t have hundreds of listings, and sales have been slower in the last 6–9 months — likely due to some combination of the economy, shipping price hikes, and constant increases in Mercari fees for both buyers and sellers.
I’ve started going through my closet and listing clothes, which I know sell better on Depop & Vinted. But both the extent and frequency of the lowballs have been insane.
If anyone else has this experience, how do you account for it when pricing? Do you list higher knowing you’re going to get lowballed, or price things lower and hope people won’t use that as an excuse to send even more ridiculous offers?
Edit: I removed the examples I originally included because the comments were getting sidetracked by the specific prices rather than the actual question. I understand that items on Depop and Vinted generally sell for less. My point is that lower prices don’t explain the degree of some of these lowballs…whether you have an $8 shirt and get a $1 offer, or nearly new Nikes listed at $45 and get a $15 offer. I’m asking how other sellers account for that when setting their prices.

I bought something last week and I noticed today that this was the tracking update. I’ve been on Mercari for five year, both buying and selling, and I’ve never had this happen before. Will I ever actually get my item? I know for a fact it isn’t hazardous materials because it’s literally American Girl doll clothes. I am a bit worried since i chose to mail it to my college apartment and not my parents house.
