Let me preface by saying I'm the first one to want an end update. It's way too empty and after getting enough shulkers for an endchest and a couple elytras there's nothing else to do there. Not saying we need a reform as big as 1.16 for the nether but we need something. I do think we need several drops before it, as most time we spend in the overworld. My suggestions for the drops we need are as follows (in no particular order):
-QOL drop. Add the crab from the mob vote, add support for shaders, make the game run faster and maybe do something with the inventory problem. Maybe add a wood variant of the stone cutter and add the variations of stone that are not in the game (like they just did with concrete and wool). Won't have a lot in terms of actual gameplay but it's a very necessary update.
-Structure update. Pretty self explanatory name, update some structures and add a few extras. Maybe include the villager rebalance experiment here so that we can see jungle and swamp villages too.
-Biome and animal update. Maybe include deeper oceans, make desserts a bit more interesting and the forests small tweaks to make them a bit more unique. Make variations for, for example, foxes just like dogs. Maybe add the iceologer to mountains and a unique mob to caves (like sulfur cubes are to the sulfure cave biome).
-Last but not least, a throwback update. There's a lot of features (first thing that comes to mind are the sniffers, arqueology, copper armour, etc.) that are way too shallow in my opinion. I think mojang should revisit a lot of the already implemented features and just giving them more uses or simply having a revamp.
Then and only then I think mojang should work on an end update. It's going to be a year with barely any "new" features per say but I think these are all necessary to give new life to the game. What do you all think?
