No Advice Please Hey mom, I want some recognition for my work
I just had an inspection at my apartment. I had about a week's notice, and my place was a mess. Proper sty. And despite my struggles with cleaning, I was determined not to let them get the best of me. And they didn't! I didn't do it all alone, a friend graciously and invaluably helped, but asking for their help felt Herculean in the first place. At the end of it, the night before the inspection, the place was cleaner as it's been in years, with all visible floor pretty much spotless, surfaces free of piles of stuff, having taken out several garbage bags of rubbish and old stuff I didn't need or want, and so much dust removed that I had trouble breathing. I was in physical pain by the end of this labour, and when the inspection came around, my tenancy manager... took some photos and left. I know it's not their job to do anything else, but I was crushed. Not a single word, good or bad, about the state of my apartment. Not even an acknowledgment that I'd cleaned at all. Took them barely thirty seconds.
I'm still proud of myself and I've no doubt I'll pass inspection but it was such a blow. I know I did a good job, but can you tell me anyway? Are you proud of me?
