Did Jett let Hunter win Iron Man so he could finally have a championship? Is there even a question?
I mean, in moto 1 Haiden has a rookie mistake on the first lap while leading, taking out Hunter. Meanwhile Jett has a "bad start" and sees the carnage as he goes by. Then for some weird reason, starts putting around the track slower than we've ever seen him go. By the end of the moto Hunter makes an epic pass (not) on his brother and they finish 8th and 11th. Jett couldnt pass anyone in the top 10? Moto 2 Jett all but pulled over and waited for his brother to catch up. I'm old enough to remember Let Brock bye!!! Are you?

u/Noswad_12 2d ago
If Jett really wanted to give it to Hunter there are a significant number of ways he could have done it that wouldn’t make anyone question it. For the second week in a row Jett had a bad moto likely from his injury as he claims. It’s not a conspiracy, he’s off
7
u/TBM900 2d ago
Agreed. After the second moto I was watching the feed on peacock. Jett pulls up to Hunter and you can just barely hear the conversation but Jett says something to Hunter, he acknowledges and then says how is your ankle. Jett responds “it fucking hurts”
Both Jett and Hunter have been a bit hit and miss this season. I believe you are correct, he is just hurt and off.

u/Cautious_Fault_7003 2d ago
Makes no sense why they’d remove the modified peg for moto 1 then
3
u/Noswad_12 2d ago
So in your opinion Jett purposefully risked injury to give Hunter the win?
1
u/Cautious_Fault_7003 2d ago
No clue where you’re getting that idea, but no 😂
3
u/Noswad_12 2d ago
It seemed to me like you were saying they removed his footpeg so he would be slower to benefit Hunter, if that’s not what you meant then my bad
-1
u/Cautious_Fault_7003 2d ago
Gotcha, honestly I have no idea what the reasoning would be. I just can’t get over the fact that Jett re-injured his foot in practice and they waited until moto 2 to add it back. Seemed to make a big difference
5
u/joshman211 2d ago
The way I heard it on the broadcast was that they removed the big footpeg a little while back. Not just for moto 1. That was my impression.
2
u/xxslangin 1d ago
Pretty sure they said they took the big one off and had some other version that was bigger than normal but not the same, then went to a regular peg for moto 1… don’t know the reasoning why they would have adjusted it at this point
1
u/Cautious_Fault_7003 2d ago
I think you’re missing my point, Jett said he hurt it in practice. So why would they wait until moto 2 to add it back
27
u/EmergencyParkingOnly 2d ago
No, he reinjured his ankle.
0
u/Dick_Indadert 23h ago
So Jett reinured his ankle in the first moto and had to ride slow enough so Hunter could gain positions and be close in points, then suddenly could ride faster in moto 2 with the injured ankle and Hunter could win the championship by only a point or two? How are people this guillable?
1
u/EmergencyParkingOnly 22h ago
Yeah man, having a world class physio working on you for an hour straight can help. There’s also a pretty darn good chance he got a toradol shot, I imagine.
Keep in mind he finished behind Deegan for the first time all season (not counting motos where Jett crashed), and he clearly doesn’t like Haiden one bit. If this was all a conspiracy, I imagine he would’ve beat Haiden and made it even closer in terms of points.
Except he couldn’t. It’s moto. Shit happens. People get hurt. Like Jett did at Ironman.
-4
u/Cautious_Fault_7003 2d ago
Apparently in practice, then they decided not to re-add the modified peg until after moto 1? 😂
3
u/EmergencyParkingOnly 2d ago
He literally said he hurt it on the first lap of moto 1 bro lol. Dunno what to tell ya
1
u/Cautious_Fault_7003 1d ago
He said he tweaked it in practice on the post race with will but keep living in your fantasy world
1
u/EmergencyParkingOnly 1d ago
Honda also said he aggravated it on the first lap of moto 1. Not a fantasy, just the broadcast.
1
u/Cautious_Fault_7003 1d ago
Clearly not if you didn’t hear Jett tell everyone watching that it was in practice

u/wakesk8atx 2d ago
no, If you listen to any of the family interviews that's not their style. Weird day of racing for sure but Hunter earned that win. Stoked for him. Well deserved

u/kainsta929 2d ago
Why do half you guys even watch sport if you think the majority of it is some big conspiracy

There is a significant overlap between the lowest IQ people in the world and Motocross.

I watch some events because I like the entertainment of seeing how they throw the match/race. Its dramma/theater like wrestling, and I am entertained by the retards yelling and screaming for 'their team' thinking its real. Watch some of Mike Tyson's fights and you can clearly see his oppenants getting stunned or knocked down by missed punches.

u/Wadsworthy 2d ago
Hunter was hands down the best rider this season and deserved the championship regardless of what Jett did imo.
8
u/Rare4orm 2d ago
Of course he didn’t. The dude aggravated a serious injury that they’ve not so convincingly tried to underplay over the last several months. After Sunday’s race he let up a bit and clearly indicated that he’s not real confident going into the SMX playoffs.
I also don’t believe that reinstalling that special foot peg between motos was part of an elaborate plan to fix the race.
1
u/Cautious_Fault_7003 2d ago
He’s visually improved, at the beginning of the season he could barely make it up and down the podium ramp. He was riding just fine then
1
u/EmergencyParkingOnly 22h ago
Yeah mate sometimes when you reaggravate an injury you then perform worse.
1
u/Cautious_Fault_7003 21h ago
Yeah you also make accommodations on the bike instead of removing them
3
u/Tmoney511 1d ago
Hunter was the best and most consistent all season. Jett has literally said multiple times he’s had to up his game to compete with HJ. Jett OJ’d the shit out of the finish line double on press day. He did one lap after that and pulled off.
Only people who have had his injury understand what he’s dealing with. These conspiracy theories are degrading HJ’s impeccable performance all season.

In this interview it sounds like Jett’s ankle got tweaked and was bothering him in the motos.
6
u/darkstar107 2d ago
No! Jett was injured; tweaked his foot/ankle in practice and first moto (as he said in his interview). He didn't even ride his bike back to the truck; he got a ride in the stars side by side.
Also, after the races (when they're chatting/hugging) you can hear Hunter say "I hope you're ok".

u/Party_Street6704 2d ago
I remember Brock Glover, but i dont remember who the team orders were given to....too many endo's of my own i suppose. Help a Rider out, who's pit board said let Brock by?
3
u/SlyBry2025 2d ago
Bob Hannah was ahead of Broc, just outside of title contention. Keith McCarty was Bob's mechanic and was instructed by team manager Kenny Clark to signal Bob with the infamous pit board.

u/Party_Street6704 1d ago
Damn SlyBri! Your good! IM ashamed of myself for not remembering. I think i was like 11 or 12 if it was '71 or '72 but that's a big moment in Mx history that i should never had cased on. Thanks for picking me up and dusting me off after that flying w into the hay bails...your the man sly...Braaaaap!

u/Party_Street6704 1d ago
Damn I wrecked again '81 or '82 I ment. Geeze I need a new Bell Motto 3! What's wrong with me????
6
u/Aggravating_Prune489 2d ago
You coping conspiratards are absolutely pathetic. No, Jett didn't lose the championship on purpose. As others have said, if he wanted to do that, there would have been much more subtle and believable ways for him to do it.
-5
u/Scared_Winter_167 2d ago
Not only that, but I have it from a very good source that the Lawrences share all their kills through one big pot (trust). A championship means about a double sized new contract and Jett already has his but Hunta doesn't. plus the brother/brother championship? never been done. Might as well take advantage of that bad ankle now cause no freakin way is Hunta as fast as Jett

u/Tiny_Enthusiasm_2356 1d ago
It's no secret that the family shares their salaries. Jets never looked this bad all year, the timing is very suspicious. Last years SMX Jett was very upset because he beat Hunter in the final, so him letting Hunter have this race is definitely a possibility. Even Hunter was very confused after his moto 1 interview and emotional.
3
u/joshman211 2d ago
Someone posted a video during either practice or press day where Jett was doing that giant Deegan Double and he oj'd the shit out of it. When he jumped the next jump after he was shaking his bad foot. Ill see if I can find the video. Not sure if that was the reinjury or not but he was not himself.
-7
u/Dick_Indadert 2d ago
It was a show to set up the excuse to ride slow to let Hunter win. This kind of stuff happens in sports all the time. Remember that one race long ago where a MX'er pretended to stall his bike just before the finish line so his teamate could win the championship? He had to do it on team orders because of the money invested in the team.
1
u/FizzleFox 1d ago
Hey look it’s someone who thinks the earth is flat.
1
u/Dick_Indadert 23h ago
well the earth is flat so what do you mean. If you think Jett was racing full speed to win the championship and beat Hunter I dont want to ruin your delusion. The facts are well known regarding marketing and winning races and championships. Even Ricky Carmichael said in an interview at tracks where there were small crowds, at some corners "in the back" Stewart would just slow down and let Ricky by.

Anyone who thinks that, has not been watching the races every weekend for the last 2 + years. So fucking ridiculous & insulting to a great guy, his family and to actual hardcore fans of moto. Hunter is the Champion! Hunter earned it. He fought for it. It was an exciting season of racing. Let’s not forget that Jett has an injury that would have been career ending for most.
Maybe someone could say that Deegan intentionally took Hunter out because he bet a million on Jett to win. Sounds dumb, huh?!
Deegan was so behind in points, he could not have won a championship, even if Jett & Hunter had stayed home.
Congratulations to Hunter! Well deserved!

u/mygrandpasreddit 1d ago
You mean when Hunter was never in the picture before this season without Tomac or Jett?
-1
u/Civil_Trade_8996 1d ago
How the hell did Haiden "take out" Hunter when Haiden was in first place? The track is Haidens at that point and he can go wherever the hell he wants to go. Maybe just maybe Huntet shouldnt have been following so close lol. So ridiculus when people say Haiden took out Hunter when its clear he fell and Hunter ran right into the back of him. You people are delusional that think this shit.
1
u/Wild_Alternative_138 1d ago
I was being facetious. Sounds dumb, huh? The delusional BS conspiracy theories about the Lawrence’s is the most ridiculous.
1
u/Scared_Winter_167 7h ago
The inference is that the fact that Haiden crashed in front of Hunter caused Hunter to go down. Thus get collected...or taken out. I mean Hunter said it himself: "38 fuckin threwaway me championship!"
3
u/murph2783 2d ago
No. He was hurt. Any claim otherwise is insane, if I was Hunter and Jett “gifted” me a championship I’d be fucking furious. I can only imagine he feels the same way

you'd have to prove jett let hunter win, which isn't possible based on any evidence i have seen or heard. compare to chicago smx a few years ago when he waived kenny by and admitted to it on the podium.
edit: my bad. thought the question was if ama was gonna do anything not if i think he did let hunter win. i didn't think so until i listened to his weege interview. that was...weird. i don't really care though. best rider wants to pull over for his teammate? eh. race teams do that all the time. usually not to the cost of their own championship. but w/e. his legacy and wallet. not mine. this assumes the worst and he did let hunter win.
1
u/Economy-Shower-5072 1d ago
I am old enough to remember let Brock by and I don’t think Deegan had a rookie mistake. I think Jett really had a shitty day and hurt his ankle in practice. I thought Jett let him win until I saw Jett after moto 1 and all the interviews in post race coverage.
1
u/Over-Mammoth-27 1d ago
He looked like shit in qualifying too. Him a hunter both looked really uncomfortable all day. Especially Jett.
1
u/N529957 1d ago
Had that been the plan why did he even line up on the start to begin with? He could have sat back at the rig and told anyone who asked that his ankle was not in ridable condition. I guess the whine and bitchers would be saying that he sat out to hand the championship to his bubba or that he was scared because diaper boy was so deep in his head.
1
u/Flashy_Possible37 1d ago
It is ironic that Jett had the worst race of his career on championship day, either way it’s always gonna be in the back of hunters head

u/skull-and-boners88 1d ago
Herlings and Renaux have both had this injury and both took a year to recover, the fact he even made it through the season this quickly after injuring it is remarkable! Clearly just reinjured it.
1
u/LithiumPhosphate 19h ago
Just gonna say I think it was a tough track to make moves on, people see jett getting stuck mid pack but no one sees deegan doing the exact same thing. Seeing deegan not make his way up the pack made it obvious to me that jett wasn’t alone in the moto 1 weirdness. Mix aggravating the ankle with that track, i can understand him hitting a wall.
1
u/detroitdick1 24m ago
I saw a pretty good video analysis showing how many times jet was staying off his bad ankle, it was a lot. Certainly enough to affect his pace. Although he’s been terrific this year, he’s also had a couple of not so jet days… I do not believe under any circumstances that jet would throw Hunter the championship. Certainly, nobody who has a sibling that they’ve competed with before would believe this either, this is tinfoil hat, shit.
1
u/Efficient-Loan-845 2d ago
If you believe this its purely because you want to. Dude has been battling an injury all season and struggling hard. Jett would never purposefully lose a championship and 1mil+, hunter would never accept a win like that. Jett tried to remove the braced foot peg to gain an advantage by riding like he wants to, aggravated his ankle again in the process, not that hard to believe.

u/revkev151 2d ago
Yeah i mean it looked fishy, especially since he was also "off" last week when Hunter needed to make up points. If it was deegan or Prado that Jett was fighting for the championship, would he have pushed more through the pain? Impossible to say. I'm happy for Hunter though.

Obviously yes, Jett made sure to ride slow enough to let Hunter win. It could not be more obvious. Not saying its wrong, but Hunter will always no Jett gave it to him.

The fact we all think the same race fixing happened means race fixing happened.
Stop second guessing what you and or we all saw.
It was a fixed race

u/thefartsock 2d ago
I mean after watching those races there is a less than 0% chance that shenanigans were played.
While the issue centers around the championship, it's about the contract with Honda really.
Jett just signed a 5 year deal with Honda.
Hunter has not been on a multi-year deal with Honda since 2024 and has just been doing one year extensions.
Now Hunter has leverage for a multi year deal. An agent will negotiate the deal based on the facts, and the fact is that Hunter is now the current 450 champ. The last deal Honda signed with a 450 champ was his brother, the floor for that contract is now set at what his brother made. If they are paying this absurd amount to Jett, and Hunter beat Jett for the championship, that means Hunter is better and needs to be paid more than Jett. That is how an agent will see that because that is a factually based approach to contract negotiations.
There is also a real possibility Hunter goes to another team is the payout is big enough, like if he gets a deal for $5.5 million dollars a year for three years with Suzuki or is officially offered a deal like that with Yamaha or something money does talk and while hunter and deegan on a team would be weird it's not the weirdest thing that has happened in the history of sports not even close.
So yeah, idk, I got a weird feeling in my stomach during those races yesterday and my gut is pretty good as sussing out motivations.

If Jett would pull over and let Kenny pass him for a race win why wouldn't he ride slower to let his brother win a title?

Jett’s ankle was hurting enough that he was interviewed sitting down not standing on the podium.
