TLDR; I hate my hair color, please share trusted recs to fix a girl's hair🙏

I followed a few suggestions here for Rename Hair Salon. I have fine Asian hair that had faded to a brassy brown, and I was looking redye it to an ashy brown tone (olive greige brown that's trending on Xiaohongshu).

Upon arriving on time to my appointment, I waited almost half an hour for the stylist to wrap up his prior client. It was not to finish cutting the hair, but because he was busy taking pictures of the finished result for his social media and getting the right angles🙃

Anyway, I thought it will be worth the wait - we consulted on the color style, and got started on the coloring. Once it was finished, my new hair color was revealed to me, and it turned out to be much darker than I had hoped. It was not the greige brown tone I was looking for, but rather dark to almost black, which is... the color of my natural hair.

Basically, I paid ~$200 to revert back to my natural hair color, which I could've just box dyed at home if I wanted to.

During the session, the stylist kept saying that I suited a natural color more and that an ashy brown would wash out my skin tone. I trusted him and let him do his thing, but this is just a totally different result from what I was looking for (and not just adjusting for my skin tone and all that). My natural hair color makes me look a bit plain, and I've always dyed it brown. So I really hate how I look right now.

I still haven't found a good hair colorist in the city, especially one that can really understand the nuance of getting the right tone. Many tend to mess up dying brown hair that's too warm, too dark, etc. So any recommendations / personally positive experiences would be much appreciated!!!

I need to improve my make-up skills, help finding the right shades, etc. I’m 37 FT content creator, and I need to learn “glam” as the kids say. Right now I’m just doing a cat-eye, mascara and brows. I prefer clean skin care brands (very sensitive skin), so I’m searching for someone who is familiar with different clean brands and knows the good ones. Anyone have personal experience with trivia events in the city? My friend and I are both on the Q line and are looking to start going to after-work trivia somewhere midway-ish between our respective apartments on the UES and in Flatbush. I know there are tons of events through the NYC Trivia League but was hoping someone might already attend one they love and recommend!

I went to experience the US Open fan week for the first time and had a great time. The only thing I am feeling sad about is that by the time I reached the Dove Giveaway stall, they ran out of scarfs and tennis ball hairpins. I tried to go the next day too but I had to move out from my apartment that day and the fan week got over.

Hi bwt! Any recommendations for quick turnaround tailors in midtown/ midtown east? I saw a lot of people recommending Orchard Express on the LES but they seem to have terrible reviews for simple hemming etc. I’d just like to get a few pants hemmed and waist taken in a little before a trip I have planned, nothing crazy.
