Has anyone tried or used an app on their sub that you really liked or was helpful?

I JUST made my own community about Fnaf- but how do I REALLY start to make it…better?

I took over a moribund community a few months back with a good name r/RETA for retatrutide which will be the next big thing in GLP weight loss medicine. It was used for something unconnected before and abandoned. Reta is pre-FDA approval in stage 3 trials as a weight loss med and it’s a hot topic (maybe as it’s pre approval but grey usage). It’s also very closely connected to my personal researching and interests so I don’t think I’m placed ok as a mod for the community. Reta is the short name used for retatrutide that I still struggle to spell.

It’s just hit 1k weekly visitors from zero a few months ago which makes me feel it was worthwhile, though I’m concerned about future mod needs as it grows and how it manage that such it’s avoids activities such as grey sourcing which is a hard no on Reddit and in the community. Other reta groups are much bigger but grayer too, I want to build the community for FDA approval in 12-15 months when this will be very sizeable. Maybe I’m unrealistic for a late starter but I think there are 2 orders of magnitude to grow from here.

Right now I have 3 weekly automod posts on progress, research, motivation etc. I’ve been an active mod also, posting, finding interesting related topics, commenting, asking the community questions, managing posts and comments to stay within the rules, etc. I have set up the bots also to help with the automodding and simplify actual work. All the things an active mod should.

I’ve made this drawn out but now to the question. When do I step back from being he key poster and commentor? The last week has been slower but I feel I’ve initiated a lot, I want to ultimately be a steer not the main person but how best to get there…

Would love to learn from experiences here growing from zero.

I know I know, I shouldn't be expecting 100 people already, but does anybody have any tips? My subreddit is an unofficial one for the Roblox game "Infected Lands", which I guess is sort of niche, but is already getting traction. I am on their server and I spoke about the subreddit, but no interraction, at least not yet. The owner doesn't allow friend requests or DMs too, so.

Any advice I would welcome as it would help greatly. This is my first time ever too, so.

A few days ago, a friend of mine adopted a *Lilo & Stitch* subreddit that had been restricted and abandoned for over a decade. She’s a huge fan of the franchise—and since she knows I am too—she asked me to help rebuild it. And let me tell you, she wasn't kidding about it being abandoned; the state it was in when I joined the mod team... 😗

For those of you who have taken over a sub like this: is it really difficult to revive a community in that condition? What tips would you give me to make the process easier, or at least improve it?

I'm running an educational community r/capybaralife where we share information about capybara behavior, welfare, ethics, enclosure design, etc. Most of our information comes from a researcher u/CapybaraWorld who has been studying these animals for more than 15 years now. They've wrote books and dozens of blogs on WordPress.

We have been making educational and welfare-focused awareness posts frequently, I occasionally made reposts to other communities and was glad to see some curious people engaging and to see that we were able to show something new.

I'm now seeing other communities on my feed posting similar topics, even posts with very similar titles, at least in a weekly basis. Is there a connection in this regarding reach? Can making more frequent posts about (e.g. capybara social hierarchies or territorial aggression) and other information we share reach more people?

Just wanted to share some positivity and maybe help out new mods.

I built a community from scratch and it’s now at 16K+ members. This new sub is only 3 months old, but I’ve been actively working on it for the last 20-25 days, and things have really started picking up.

My new community r/sensiual is getting people contributing to the group. I can see the post and comment on the post via my notifications. The trouble is, I cant see their post in the community thread when I scroll the community feed. How do I view my community members posts in the community feed outside of my personal notifications?

Founder and sub owner of r/WholesomeHelldivers here. I started this sub in those specific gaming community after a massive controversy back in March. Since then, it has grown tha ks to efforts by creating a slace where players can show mutual respect for one another, talk about the game they love, and be in a supportive and friendly enviornment.

We have constant daily posts, our own inside jokes, a mascot, and more. We even branched into a Discord server to connect more players together. Its been my honor and privilege to foster a space for people to enjoy something that they are passionate about in a stress free, non toxic community enviornments.

Heres to the next seven months ahead for our first year on Reddit!

I always show it at the end of the month to the community I mod to celebrate for getting on to the list and to get them exited.

I made a new sub months ago which is called r/REogm4ke, basically a safe space for those who got exhausted of infinite wars among other resident evil community on reddit, and i set up rules but i may have to ask if i did anything wrong or if there is something missing or needed to be added to improve the sub? Something that helps making it be popular more on reddit? Any tips?

I sometimes daily post on my sub and reposting it in other RE subs for some people to see it and be interested in joining us, other times i simply invite people randomly, is there better and faster way to gain more users to join us?

I now co moderator a fresh new community r/FakeRelationship. I feel like this type of community has a lot of potential to go wrong, what rules are actually going to help keep everyone safe? I thought about making it 18+ but there might be some under 18 who want to practise small talk and could benefit from this sub. How should we tell people to mind there own safety without too much policing? If people want to meet up in real life, thats up to them, but i also dont think we should be encouraging it? Some more experienced mods or anyone who has experience with 18+ (SFW) subs what would you recommend??

Just wanted to share what I feel is some positivity from my sub.

For context I created the sub 5 - 6 weeks ago but only in the last 10 -14 days have I been actively working on it. As you can see from the numbers we've had a really busy last few days.

Was redirected to find the answer to my question here. I am about to create a community under a new account and just want to make sure I select the correct option from the start for what I want to achieve. My questions is;

If I choose 'restricted' as the community option, does that mean that I can post as the account creator and people can comment to my posts, but can't post themselves?

I ask because under 'restricted' it says that people cannot contribute (I am assume this means they can't post), but don't know if that means they can't also comment on my post that I create (which I would want them to be able to do).

Or, ...If I create a 'public' community, can I allow comments on my posts, but make it so followers of the community cannot post?

So my community is focused on a game called Vrising. Yes is a slightly dead game, I guess little more popular one. Eventually ya maybe we focus on other games as well but im curious how to get people to maybe want to join my community.

Do i post images maybe of my own world?

Im trying to edit the rules and stuff but I cant access any of my modtools, and im locked to No permissions, No ability to edit and no access to my Modtools, can anyone help?

I'm considering setting up a spin-off sub of sorts from one I'm active in, based on community demand. Unfortunately, despite being wholly SFW our hobby is a fairly common kink/fetish and there is a big problem with creepy unsolicited photo requests and sexual comments in DMs following activity in this kind of sub. Because I've been active in this space for a while so have had my fair share of bad experiences, and because word gets around in comment threads, I have a list of accounts I have blocked for this reason.

Is there any rule that wouldn't let me publish this list to the new sub's wiki so that people may pre-emptively prevent these people from seeing their pictures and DMing them? We are mostly women with a fair sized under 18 audience too and I feel like I have a duty of care to warn people when I have concrete evidence of strange behaviour. A lot of these accounts have already been flagged/outed in comment sections in other subs but there's no centralised system for recording them, so they get access to new people joining every day.
