I had a good time

So, about 2 months ago I got a Nikon D80 with a cracked screen for ~30 USD (bundled with a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 for another ~100 USD), but my dad had told me for some time that after I reached a college milestone, he would buy me my camera of choice (under 300 dollars).

Yesterday, I found a listing on facebook marketplace for a Nikon D7200 that was looking in really good condition, along with only a 23k shutter count, for just - get this - 190 USD!!!

My dad figured, since it was such a great deal, and I was close to my milestone, he'd take me out to check the camera out later that day. After testing it out, the camera was in pristine condition - guy even still had the box! (no hot shoe cover tho...)

So, my dad bought the camera for me. Now, after a couple months with the D80, I've just gotten a major upgrade. I have a D7200!!! (with a third party vertical grip too)

I've been loving the camera so far - so much that I've been having it out of my bag on my desk next to me at all times while I'm using my computer, just because I love it so much! It feels so much nicer to use than the D80, and takes such crisp photos! (as shown below)

And, about the D80 - I plan on buying a replacement screen and repairing it myself (I have some experience taking apart electronics, so it shouldn't be too difficult) - and selling it for ~80-100 dollars or so. It only has a 29k shutter count, and the body is in great condition, so I think I'll be able to sell it for a good price. I will miss it, though. Just a bit. Those grainy indoor photos got annoying after a while, but they were really charming, and those outdoor photos did have some really nice colors.

Did some traveling with the family. These were shot with either a Z7ii or Z5ii body. I had a viltrox 16 mm, Nikon 35 mm f/1.8s, and Nikon 24-120 f/4 s for lens options.

Recently ordered a Z8 with the 180-600 as I brought my FujiFilm gear to its limits.
I enjoy the realiability of the AF but the ergonomics are my absolute highlight.

Did you know they make lenses for your glasses? I didn’t.

After about a 20 year break from photography, I recently purchased a used Nikon D700 & an 85mm f/1.4D.

The color is awesome. This 15 year old Nikon DSLR makes me happy to shoot pictures again.

My son and I had a 1 hour wait for a dinner reservation in downtown Toledo, OH so we went for a short walk.

Wanted to see how far I could push the dynamic range on my first and only camera. This is my first ever lens purchase to go alongside the kit lens and i love it. I spot metered the sky and slightly overexposed it to try and balance how dark the shadows were but Lightroom denoise made it usable I think. I'm still learning everything including editing I think I should lower the black point a little it seems kind of "hazy" to me looking at it again.

I took some photos on my lunch break with my Nikon D3400 and my new to me 18-140mm lens. Trying to do photography on a tiny budget is a challenge that I’m enjoying!

Grandpa has a stray cat who has handled quite a few visitors (mostly other cats, snakes, birds, and one chihuahua).Just had to share. Those paws are huge.

Nikon D3500, 105mm

Hi everyone,
I’ve been using a D890E for many years and I absolutely love it. My current setup is the classic trio of f/2.8 zooms: the 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200 (pre vr), plus a 50 and 105 f1.4.
I really love the image quality I get from this setup, and I’m also very comfortable with the D800E ergonomics. It simply feels great in my hands.
The problem is that the whole kit has become a bit too heavy for the way I use it. Since my photography is purely amateur, I’m thinking about selling the whole F-mount setup and moving to the Z System, probably buying used.
I shoot Raw only, and I have absolutely no interest in video. I mainly photograph landscapes and street photography, with some portraits of family and friends. What I don’t want to do is sacrifice the image quality and detail that I’m used to getting from the D800E.
I would therefore really appreciate some advice on the camera body and the Lenses (I considered z6 ii, z7, z7ii but I’m open ed to other solution)
So, if you were in my position, what camera and lenses world you choose?
Finally, if you have experience buying used Nikon equipment inEurope, are there any reliable websites or dealers you would recommend that ship to italy?
