Three weeks ago, I realized my core health habits had slipped and decided to launch a personal challenge focused entirely on a clean lifestyle. As shown in the image above, this monthly recap proves that consistency and long-term discipline matter far more than absolute perfection.
This journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Even with a broken sugar streak, the physical benefits over the last three weeks have been incredible. Without even adding structured workouts yet, I have lost almost 4kg. Beyond the scale, my baseline energy is much more stable throughout the day, my anxiety has dropped, and my skin has visibly cleared up.
September Goals & Training Preparation starting next week, I am shifting gears to prepare for an upcoming half-marathon and duathlon. To support that training load, I am expanding my tracked habits to include:
I am really looking forward to seeing how these new metrics stack up after the first week of September!
Everyone is welcome to join the journey and build some discipline together:

Well, I honestly don’t know why I’m posting this. This is probably my first post in this community, because I’m not really someone who posts things randomly.
But I think there’s always this inner feeling in us that wants to share what we’re going through with someone not necessarily because we want sympathy, but because maybe someone else can give us a perspective, some knowledge, or simply help us understand what’s happening.
I could tell you who I am, what I do, where I’m at in life, and all the usual stuff. But honestly, right now I feel stuck in a very confusing and furious loop.
At this point in my life, I’m supposed to focus on my work, build my career, and somehow balance everything else that comes with being an adult. But instead, I feel like I’m just living the same day over and over again.
An endless loop.
I think I’m growing. At least, I want to believe I am. People around me probably think I’m doing well. From the outside, it might even look like I have a great life.
But when I compare myself to my own past self especially who I was around 7 years ago when I was still in school I honestly feel like I’m not doing well.
And that's the part that hurts.
Life has become so tangled that sometimes it feels like I’m just stuck at one point, carrying everyone’s expectations and trying to become the person everyone thinks I should be.
And somewhere in all of this, I keep waiting for my old self to come back.
The version of me who didn’t overthink everything.
The version who had some direction.
The version who probably didn’t even realize how simple life felt back then.
Maybe I’m not actually looking for my “past self” to come back. Maybe I just miss the way I felt back then.
I don't really know.
I’m posting this without having a proper conclusion or some big life lesson. I just felt like putting it somewhere.
Maybe someone here has been through something similar.
How do you know whether you’re actually growing, or just getting better at surviving the same loop?

played with the kid in the morning and after work
offloaded wife after work
booked certificate exam
progressed key projects at work
skipped dinner meal
found a way to track NZD actions per area which showed gaps
-
ate bad food throughout the day
didn't stretch or workout
realized I didn't progressed over the personal improvement so I booked the exam to push things forward (first "aha" moment since started NZD)

Day 10 was a good day.
Today I was much more occupied than usual, but unlike some of the previous days, I actually managed to get quite a lot done.
I had planned to go for a morning run, but I didn't wake up on time because I stayed up late working on the video from yesterday.
So the morning run didn't happen.
But after that, things went pretty well.
The usual stuff
News & finance
Read my book
Studied
Swimming
Workout
I also had my assessment mentoring session.
Interestingly, teaching those sessions is actually helping me revise some basic concepts too. Sometimes explaining something to someone else makes you realize how much you actually remember — and what you need to improve.
About yesterday's video
Yesterday I wasn't satisfied with the video and was almost certain I wouldn't post it.
But I made some changes, did a few additional shots, and got a new idea that I incorporated into it.
Eventually, I decided to post it.
And honestly...
I'm glad I did.
It received some really good responses and feedback.
That made me realize that sometimes the thing you think isn't good enough might actually be worth putting out there.
Maybe I don't always need to wait until something feels perfect.
Finally fixed my laptop!
Another big thing today:
I finally fixed the Wi-Fi issue on my laptop that had been bothering me for almost a week.
I decided to actually take it seriously today and spent quite a lot of time troubleshooting it until I got it working.
I was also working on backing up my files and freeing up storage space, including using Command Prompt to clean things up.
None of these things were part of my original "90-day routine."
But looking back at the day, I actually did a ridiculous number of small chores and tasks without even consciously thinking about them.
And maybe that's something I need to recognize more often.
Still room to improve
Even though today was productive, I know I can do better.
The biggest thing I want to improve is how much focused time I put into studying and my personal projects.
I'm getting better at staying active and handling daily responsibilities, but I want to make sure I'm not just busy.
I want to become productive in the things that actually move my life forward.
Day 10 isn't perfect.
I missed my morning run.
I still stayed up too late.
And I could have spent more time studying.
But compared to where I started...
I'm moving.
10/90 complete.
Let's keep going.

Here's the updated of what i'll do today :

Day 9.
Today I only managed to do swimming.
Most of my day went into working on a video concept I had in mind. I spent hours shooting, editing, and putting everything together.
But after finishing it, I decided not to post it.
The video just didn't feel complete to me.
I wasn't satisfied with how the final result turned out, and I felt like something was missing. So instead of forcing myself to post something I wasn't proud of, I decided to leave it for now.
🎥 But maybe there's something to learn from this
I'm trying to build myself in multiple areas right now, and content creation is one of them.
I know that not every video is going to be amazing.
At the same time, I don't want to fall into the trap of perfectionism where I keep working on something forever and never actually put anything out.
There's a difference between:
"This needs improvement."
and
"This will never be good enough."
I need to figure out which one I'm dealing with.
Today I spent a lot of time creating something, even though I didn't end up publishing it.
So I'm not going to call the day completely wasted.
But I also know I neglected the other things I wanted to do.
No studying.
No reading.
No workout.
No run.
Just swimming and working on the video.
Day 9 lesson
I think I need to get better at finishing things without needing them to be perfect.
And tomorrow, I need to get back to the rest of my routine instead of letting one project consume the entire day.
9/90 complete.
Still here. Still trying.

Sunday, August 30
(Goal: go to bed and wake up at the same time: 01:00 – 09:00)
Went to bed at ~03:30–07:20; 09:20–12:45
Sleep times: 7,05
Run: ~ 02:40 - 03:20
Last meal: 8:20
👹 Mistake: I should have made better use of the free time that opened up.
Nutrition ✅️ (Goal: eat healthy foods first, then sweets and pastries) — one meal did not include a healthy component.
Physical activity ✅️ (walking for 30+ minutes, Day 242 of running)
🎯 Goal: 120–180 minutes per day on the project (Ph+Bl) + time for contingencies
🗳 Result: ❌️
Speed of starting tasks: average
Daily takeaway:
I liked this quote: "If you wish to live nobly, do not look back. If something is lost and gone forever, begin as if you were born anew." — Goethe

Saturday, August 29
(Goal: go to bed and wake up at the same time: 01:00 – 09:00)
Went to bed ~ 04:50 – 11:05
Sleep duration: 6.10 hours
Running: ~ 02:20 – 03:20
Last meal: 18:50
👹 Mistake: need to review common errors and triggers every week
Nutrition ✅️ (Goal: eat healthy foods first, then sweets and pastries)
Physical activity ✅️ (walking for at least 30 minutes; 241st day of running)
🎯 Goal: 120–180 minutes per day on the project (Ph+Bl) + time for unforeseen issues
🗳 Result: ❌️
Speed of starting tasks: average
Takeaway of the day: I liked the idea that every decision comes at a price.
This week, I completed 3.5 steps of the CoDA 12-step program and nearly finished reading a book on codependency; this helped me understand certain hidden feelings and motives

Friday, August 28
(Goal: go to bed and wake up at the same time: 01:00 – 09:00)
Went to bed ~04:30 – 10:50 AM
Sleep duration: 6h 20m
Running: ~00:30 – 01:50
Last meal: 18:30
👹 Mistake: I focused on just one area of life to finish things faster—and perhaps that was a mistake. Balance is essential for a sense of stability.
Nutrition ✅️ (Goal: eat healthy foods first, then sweets and pastries)
Physical activity ✅️ (walking 30+ minutes; Day 240 of running)
🎯 Goal: 120–180 minutes per day on the project (Ph+Bl) + time for contingencies
🗳 Result: ❌️
Speed of starting tasks: average
Takeaway for the day: I need to re-evaluate my career path and draw conclusions based on recent events

Thursday, Aug 27
( goal: go to bed and wake up at the same time: 01:00 – 09:00 )
Went to bed at ~04:45 – 11:40 + 50 min nap during the day
Sleep duration: 7.50 hrs
Running: ~03:40 – 04:10
Last meal: 19:00
👹 Mistake: perhaps I need to set specific rules for difficult days (to get back into the right state more quickly)
Nutrition ❌️ ( goal: eat healthy foods first, then sweets and pastries ) one meal did not include a healthy component
Physical activity ✅️ ( walking for 30+ minutes, Day 239 of running )
🎯 Goal: 120–180 minutes per day on the project (Ph+Bl) + time for unforeseen issues
🗳 Result: ❌️
Speed of starting tasks: average
My takeaway for the day: I caught myself thinking that I’ve almost returned to where I started, and that scared me a little.
I need to write down the events that might be triggers and address them

I am talking in terms of what activities do you do to train yourself in the morning for self-improvement, and this should be aside from the work that you are currently into professionally. For example, it could include, working out, reading book or newspaper, writing something, training your brain, practicing something that you like, etc.
Note 1: Please include how much gross time you spend on it every day religiously
Note 2: From How long have you been doing it, and what has changed inside you and did your self-improvement schedule become easier to follow with time?

Day 8 was probably the worst day of the challenge so far.
I basically didn't do anything I was supposed to do.
No studying.
No reading.
No workout.
No swimming.
No morning run.
Didn't even follow my usual news/finance routine properly.
Instead, I spent most of the day setting up and organizing my room for video shooting. I'm trying to turn part of my room into a small studio, so I cleaned the room and worked on getting things ready.
That's something productive, I guess.
But if I'm being completely honest, I also wasted a lot of time surfing through videos.
And that's what bothers me.
The reality of this challenge
Yesterday was probably my best day so far.
Today was probably my worst.
And that's exactly why I'm doing this challenge.
It's easy to feel motivated after a productive day and think you've finally changed.
But the real test is what happens when that motivation disappears.
I don't want to use today as a reason to say:
"I'll start again tomorrow."
Because I've done that countless times before.
Tomorrow isn't Day 1 again.
It's Day 9.
The progress from the first week still counts.
The bad day counts too.
I'm going to finish setting up my little studio, but I also need to make sure that building something new doesn't become another excuse for avoiding the things I'm supposed to be doing.
Tomorrow I want to get back to the basics:
Study
Read
Run
Exercise
Swim when appropriate
Keep the mindless scrolling under control
No need for a perfect comeback.
Just show up again.
8/90 complete.
One bad day isn't failure.
Quitting after the bad day would be.

I was never a fan of doing stuff publicly, but let's give that a try (shooting for a year). Thought about it decided to spread goals into 3 categories and will post results in post or comment.
As I'm writing this post at 7am, will write down the big goals I have currently. This is a wish dump and can be too much/overwhelming.
| Goals | Health | Wealth | Relationships |
|---|---|---|---|
| Get to and stay at 80kg | Great Prof. Market Value | Kid | |
| No pains NeckGreat | Great Job performance | Wife | |
| No pains Lower back | Side income | Relatives | |
| No pains knees | Passive income | Friends | |
| Endurance | 45d Travel (outside home) | More presence in person | |
| Mobility |
