šŸš† O-Train Bayview Station Platforms

This has personally been asked before, but why does the O-Train randomly switch platforms when arriving and departing on Line 2. Is there any pattern?

Could it be to spread out the wear and tear?

That’s what I’ve heard. It seems to switch every day

Sorry, that should say ā€œprobably been asked beforeā€.

Yes apparently it is to even out wear and tear on the switches approaching the station. I find this a particularly bad example of the OC Transpo customers-last mindset ("due to unexplained technical constraints, your train will sometimes be in a different place than you expect, deal with it")

This is the capital city of a G7 country it’s a shame that the train doesn’t wanna go over its own tracks too often

It's a shame that the tracks were changed so they don't align with the railway bridge the city bought that would alleviate some of the rush hour traffic on the interprovincial bridges.

The funny thing is they didn’t do that originally and it only started about a year ago, if that.

Been wondering about a pattern too. I find it’s been Mondays and/or Tuesdays so far this summer, but can’t swear that it’s like that week to week.

Why did they even bother having two platforms on line 2? Bayview is the worst designed station in the entire network.
