Yeah me too. He must have died at about 60-65. She had almost as many years after him as with him. My husband and I are both early forties and in his family, men die of heart attacks in their sixties, so we joke that he’s almost like my first dog in that I will outlive him by decades. But fuck, I wish that wasn’t the case. I figure I’ll be like OP’s grandma someday.

To be fair, at some age you wish you could be young again with your life partner to be together again.
