By the time my grandfather died, he had kept next to no personal stuff. No letters, no pictures (apart from the few that had hung on the walls of his home for decades), very little in terms of memorabilia in general.
... but he did die with a nude of our grandmother (probably from the time when they just got married) in his wallet.
Priorities, I guess.

Mine did too! He was a photographer and developed his own photos. Evidently he convinced my grandma to pose for him! It was beautiful and tasteful. If there was hardcore ones he burned the evidence! lol

Yeah I'm pretty much into ladies but I think I could be convinced to grow a womb and get preggant for that wink, under the right circumstances.

I love this story. My nana was also super cool (some I didn’t find out about until after her death which she had told me WORSE 😆)
She used to tell me about trippin with some Native Americans (in a story about this now developed area - real estate story turned into I used to do this there) and one time suggested my husband and I swing. She didn’t say the word just “ well while you are figuring things out why don’t you get a boyfriend and him and lady get together and you all just get together”
I almost died . 😆😆😆😆😆😆 RIP. Man I miss her.

My grandma is in her 80s, and she’s hilarious. Through text it’s all ohhh how is my great grandson I love you so much! (Too many emojis follow) but in person she’ll go “you know, I used to love lsd. It was fun. I met so many handsome men and women. I had fun. Hey honey please go in my drawer and get my papers. Oh shoot I forgot I can’t roll, will you roll me this joint?” Lmao she’s still smoking weed in her 80s and reminiscing on the good ol party days.

To be fair, at some age you wish you could be young again with your life partner to be together again.
You see the dirty joke but past that i see grief, poor lady.

Yeah me too. He must have died at about 60-65. She had almost as many years after him as with him. My husband and I are both early forties and in his family, men die of heart attacks in their sixties, so we joke that he’s almost like my first dog in that I will outlive him by decades. But fuck, I wish that wasn’t the case. I figure I’ll be like OP’s grandma someday.

awe as in "shock and awe" or an endearing "aww"? There's a difference

We discovered, after her death, my grandmother was pregnant at her wedding. She was 14.

She says she likes to see her handsome man. I think we can trust that. The rest, well, don't think about it too hard, you'll hurt yourself.

This girl's great grandad died in 1991. If the photo was taken in the 1950s at least her great grandparents had been happily married for around 40 years. That being said, her great grandma was likely barely 20...

At one point in time.. all our Nana's were low key freaks.... If it wasn't for that... None of use would be here... None of us lol

Respect to all of our thirsty lady ancestors who had to quickly plan weddings after a night in the hayloft.

It was well known that my moms parents were freaks for each other, including a hidden drawer of sex toys and they used to own a heart shaped bathtub to hang out with each other, plus six kids, but it was still so jarring when they made sex jokes. At 87, my grandparents were telling us about how the neighborhood messed up the property lines and the neighbor technically owned a corner of their bedroom. Grandma pipes up and says "i need to go over and meet them, find out who's sharing my bed with me" like grandma!!!!! You little freak!!! 😂😂

Bona fide old guy here with 5 grandkids (mix of mine and hers). We literally have a protocol in place for disposal of the toy bag and hard drives in the event we die. At 63 I am undoubtedly having the most amazing sex of my life. You only age on the outside.

If this were from a grandfather then this thread would be burning to the ground over pedophilia accusations.

At the opposite end of the spectrum my grandmother had zero information on reproduction, premarital sex was verboten so she only found out that babies didn’t come out of your bellybutton until her wedding night.
Even later in life anything having to do with “lady parts” was off limits.

LOL sometimes grandma's aren't too grandma-like. At one point in their lives they were young and pretty too
My mom came from a large family and I asked my grandma why did she have so many kids. Her reply "I just liked doing it with your grandfather too much... and before we knew it, there was another baby"
