General Discussion PCOS Officially Being Renamed to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) in Major International Update

An international evidence-based initiative has announced that PCOS will gradually be renamed to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome), following years of global research and consultation involving healthcare professionals, researchers, and women living with the condition. According to materials released by Monash University and the International PCOS Network, the change was made because the term “PCOS” was considered scientifically inaccurate and too narrow, as the condition affects much more than just the ovaries, including hormones, metabolism, mental health, skin, and reproductive health.

The renaming process reportedly included more than 22,000 survey responses and international workshops involving patient organizations and medical experts worldwide. Organizers say the old name contributed to misunderstanding, stigma, and delayed diagnosis, while the new terminology aims to better reflect the full-body nature of the condition. A 3-year global transition period is planned, with the updated terminology expected to be included in future international guidelines.

Can anyone recommend an OB-GYN on NowServing?

Hello! Can anyone recommend an OB-GYN on NowServing who accepts OFWs? I have thyroid issues, so my doctor advised me to consult an OB-GYN with a subspecialty in endocrinology. I also struggle with PTSD and GAD. I'm not sure if it affects my period, but I would love to find someone patient, kind, and easy to talk to, as I get quite anxious around doctors. Thank you so much!

Hi! I just wanted to ask if anyone here has undergone surgery for a 6–7 cm ovarian cyst and has Intellicare HMO.

How much did the surgery cost in total, including the hospital bill, professional fees, laboratory tests, and other expenses? How much was covered by Intellicare, and how much did you have to pay out of pocket? I’m trying to get an estimate and prepare financially. Any experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Yaz Pill

I was diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS and was prescribed Yaz pills. the first pack was good, nothing really changed but nung second pack, naglabasan lahat ng pimples ko and mind you, theyre big, cystic, and hurts like hell. consulted an OB because of recurring acne pero di ko inexpect to breakout like this, as in super lala.

have any of you girls experienced this? totoo ba na it will get better on the third pack? i’m also on tret + azelaic for years and parang hindi na siya nag work this time. lowkey regret taking it kasi graduation ko na in 2 weeks and i don’t have the confidence to go na 😔

Where can we buy EC pills in the Philippines? Need advice

So me M (26) and my GF (24) are both working and we just had done PIV. Very brief, very short, I would say about maybe 15 seconds or less. I made sure to wipe any precum before putting it in. But she has PCOS, and is saying that it's a very low risk, but I am panicking, based on what happened.

- I wiped any precum before putting it in

- Very brief PIV

- pulled out afterwards. few minutes time and ejaculated outside.

She told me it's a very low risk and that it was safe. Plus, it had been 3 weeks after her period. She stopped taking pills around May 28th. Should we consider buying pills already or just to wait it out till her period comes. Her period usually comes around 2nd week of every month, between day 8 - 15.

Am I really just lazy?

I came from a family reunion, and my uncle was shaming me the entire time, like why haven't I lost the weight and I explained that I am a student and barely have any time for exercises like running and no money for the supplements needed for managing my PCOS, but he just said I am lazy and I should wake up earlier to be able to get some running. I understand that but I really am busy, I wake up at 3 am to do my chores and prepare to head to school l, then I have an hour and 30 minute commute to school then I have classes til 6:30 pm then another hour and 30 minute commute back home, then I study for a bit then head to bed. And that is my everyday routine, I already ate less, changed my diet and saved up for the MYPICOS powder and I haven't changed at all. I understand I don't fit the beauty standards and I hate it myself but I really am not able to fit exercise into my current schedule and I feel so pressured from people to lose the weight, I guess I have to sacrifice school so I can start exercising

My uncle kept telling me I'm lazy because his wife was able to lose weight, but she had the support needed like an actual treadmill and complete supplements.

Hello everyone.

Posting kasi di ko na alam huhu. May OB said to remove asap my cyst. Its been a year 4cm lang to, non cancerous. hindi na ako nakabalik since nawalan din ako work. Now, lang ulit nakabalik, 8cm na daw sya

Nasa hiring process pa kami for my permanent position at government. I cant lose this opportunity.

Should i get 2nd opinion? Hoping for your inputs. Im so anxious. Also ano po ba ang best HMO for this, im in bicol

D&C

2 weeks after nakuha ko yung results and mataas yung estrogen lo but benign naman. After nun pinagprogesterone na agad ako for 14 days kaso grabe yung bleeding para sa kin (medium flow, na maraming clots). Sabi ni Doc possible yun na yung mens ko so now to lessen it naka Althea pills ako. Kaso para akong umiihi ng clots.

Normal po ba ito? Natatakot ako kasi simula procedure 2 days lang ako nawalan ng “mens” tapos meron agad ako nung nagprogesterone.

Nakamagnacarta leave ako and 60 days naman yun, kaso pinag iisipan pa ni Doc kung extend niya yung 30 days kong bed rest.

Need tour thoughts.

Maxicare Prima Consult+

Good day po, wanna ask lang po sana if mas worth it ba na mag avail ng Maxicare Prima Consult+ if want po magpa consult + prescribe medication regarding my pcos?

I've been searching clinics and doctors po kasi and parang mas worth it na mag avail nalang nitong Maxicare Prima Consult+ because of unli consultation and follow up check ups na po?

I'm still a student po kasi and di ko kaya na magbayad ng 500+ or 1k for initial consultation then another bayad nanaman if mag follow up check up.

So naisip ko po na baka mas worth it pag nag avail ako nito?

Please share your thoughts and experiences po. Thank you so much!

Are my test results still valid?

For context, I did lab tests and TVUS last June 26. I haven’t gotten back to my OB since. I’m planning on rescheduling this Sept. Will my OB make me re-do my tests or not? Thanks.

Just found out I have PCOS

Dont know how to feel when doctor told me I have PCOS. Regular naman period ko and all. I was prescribed pills for this. But parang gusto ko magpa second opinion, after a few months. Any advice?

Also, Binabasa ko kasi yung TVS results ko and noticed na "Anteverted" yung findings sa uterus ko. I searched kung ano meaning nun and yung pwesto pala sya ng uterus.

Pero curious lang ako, sa final diagnosis nakalagay na "normal sized retroverted uterus" could it be a typo since anteverted naka-indicate sa taas?

Checkup Procedure

f22 here, planning to have a checkup sa nearest obgyn. my cycle length for the past years were 30-37 days (is that normal?) pero last month was like 47 days. what im worrying about is the cycle length, acne, mood changes, and very very painful menstruation like there are times that i cannot move due to cramps and infuriating back pain.

question, what are some tests na iaask ng ob on my first checkup? i really need to know to prepare financially. gusto ko kasi malaman para alam ko ang sasabihin ko sa GP since i am about to work na.

Althea Pills side effect

Hello po, normal pa ba tong nagsusuka?

Been using Althea since 2022 for PCOS, nireseta ng OB ko noon. After nun, nagdiet ako ng malala. OMAD and take ng Inositol, after a month nakabawas ako ng 5kg.

Ngayon, nagtake ako ulit ng Althea kasi mag almost 1 year na ulit akong walang menstruation. Pero grabe naman ang pagsusuka ko. As in every kain talaga ako nagsusuka. Di naman ako pwedeng buntis kasi di nga ako dinadatnan. Kaya hindi ko mainom ng dire-diretso yung pills ngayon, like every other day ang inom ko kasi nagsusuka talaga ako.
