I'm thinking of getting one

I'm selling my ds lite, pokemon diamond and pearl with new super mario bros blah blah blah. I might just go to gamrstop and trade them and try my luck to see if u can get a ps3 but before I do it, what games should I play/is it worth it? I will mod it so I don't really care if the game is expensive

I won't disparage you for trading in your stuff, it's your stuff after all. However, I, as someone who has many handheld game consoles from many generations, urge you to reconsider trading them into gamestop or any game store for that matter. You won't get hardly anything from them and handhelds are, in my opinion, the best way to experience games. They're incredibly universal, they transcend so many potential roadblocks, I've had experiences where even through language barriers I've had my day made just by playing my gameboy on public transit with a total stranger who just so happend to have one too even though we didn't understand eachother. At least from my point of view, unless you are really and absolutely positive you will never regret giving it away, try to scrounge up the extra $50 dollars or so you would get from it some other way. PS3s are great and are absolutely worth adding to your collection but I recommend not losing one for the other. Sorry for the rant but I have a strong love for handhelds haha. Also at the very least, try to sell the Pokémon games on your own, they're worth a pretty penny anymore and if you're getting rid of them, at least get your moneys worth.

As far as worth goes for PS3, it really depends what you're looking for. PS3 has no shortage of great games as well as the ability to emulate PSX and PS2 so, really, the Sony world is your oyster. I recently just got my first PS3 myself. So far I have played Remember Me which was a fun little story game with a cool combo building mechanic, Folklore which was genuinely fun but not at all worth the price of admission (yay for modding), and now I'm playing FF XIII which is FF so I'm going to love it regardless. I'm also playing a bunch of PSX games from my physical collection as all PS3 consoles can play PSX discs through emulation without modding, currently playing Vagrant Story and Mega Man Legends. What kind of games float your boat? Again sorry for the text wall!

Woah, lots to read but completely understandable, personally I dont really use the ds because idk what games to play, and you're right about gamestop, I will just sell the games on Facebook since I dont use them. Thank you for the advice

Sounds like you should make one of these posts about your DS.  😉

Long post but based. I’d hang on to the ds just because and I’m not even a Nintendo fan. Be patient and shop around for a slim or super slim I wouldn’t get one from GameStop/DKOldies/Lukeygames because their refurb is complete ass. Just keep you eyes open on market place and such and be patient, there’s lots of fomo around ps3 right now.

Dawg, don't go to GameScalp, just sell that shit privately, you'll get better money.

Personally I recommend the Resistance series, Killzone, Transformers War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron, CoD WaW (really gritty and spooky atmosphere), Uncharted franchise, 2 is my favorite, The Last of Us, God of War, Motorstorm for sure as well.

Ps3s are cheap relatively. You'll likely regret selling your ds

Bro PS3 are easily one of the most cheapest consoles to purchase from your local market place for around $20-80.
