The PSP version was a childhood favorite,years later find this at a local shop for 79 cents,think "oh sweet it's gotta be even better" looking forward to the beginning grendel fight,nope it's a shitty foot race with a jump mechanic that makes me wanna throw rocks at the elderly and a "game" that gets me more angry than super grover,I hate this,it's worse than turok and I would have preferred to keep my 79 cents,it would have been better spent on the stale pre 9/11 gumballs that were in the machine at the pawn shop

It's well-known some PS3 games have separate framebuffers between 720p and 1080p and that some are 720p60fps 1080p30fps, but one thing I never see discussed is that some games also have a separate framebuffer for 480p and will straight up go from 30 fps / extremely unstable 60 fps to 60 FPS in 480p mode.

For most of its commercial lifespan, I played my PS3 on a CRT with composite so it was interesting when I finally got an hands-me down HDTV and saw which games ran worse in HD.

I'll be honest and say that I have avoided this game purely on my dislike of the box art. Petty I know.

However, after recently watching a fabulous youtuber called Foolish Pedro and one of his videos, Gamings Best Hong Kong (part of a series of videogames best cities), I was made aware of this game. I thought it looked pretty cool.

After doing some research and deciding that the £15 PS4 edition can get lost, I went for the £5 PS3 option.

I've only done the opening few tasks but it's looking good so far.

What does everyone else think of Sleeping Dogs?

I bought the system back when it was released to play MGS4 and played few games along in that generation of consoles. I didn’t think much of it. It wasn’t the PS2 or the PS1 in terms of library. I modded it few years ago. But seeing the shit show Sony and ps5 has become made me think that PS3 is an actually the ultimate PlayStation system. It’s really funny that a 20 years old system can be more enjoyable than current gen. A modded PS3 that is.

As title said, those were the only actions I did. Can someone help me understand what could have happened? Is it bad?

Grown and trimmed over the years, I'm pretty proud of it even though some classics like skate 2, resistance 2, and killzone 3 (the one from the trilogy doesn't work) are left. If anyone wants shawn white sb, sports champions, or rock band i'm happy to sell them

15 years of community effort gone in a second

I'm not a big JRPG fan, to be honest. I've only managed to finish two of them, FF7 and DQ8, but from time to time I still give another one a try.

This time it was Final Fantasy XIII, and I have mixed feelings about it. First of all, the game looks beautiful, and if you're emulating it, I'm not sure whether it's possible to upscale the resolution to 4k, but if so, it must look amazing. The graphics still hold up very well nowadays.

At the moment, I'm on Chapter 9 after more than 20 hours. I'm not sure if I'm going quickly or slowly, but I'm taking it easy.

Anyway, I'm missing some very important things in an RPG, especially exploration. I don't mean that we always need a huge open world, but some exploration is key, in my opinion. Still, I shouldn't complain, since I knew the game was like this.

Also, I don't dislike the combat system. I like classic systems like FF7 or DQ8, but it's nice to see something fresh — or at least fresh to me, because I don't play many JRPGs. I like the class system and how you can change classes depending on your needs. And the thing is, it's fun: when I'm in a fight, the system itself works and I have a good time. However, some enemies are damage sponges and some fights take way too long.

The progression system isn't too bad either, but it doesn't feel like anything special.

The characters aren't particularly annoying. I just don't like Hope very much, but apart from him, they're all fine.

I'm definitely missing something besides just following the story in a linear way and fighting... perhaps some side quests and some kind of exploration.

I think that at this point I'll finish it, but so far I have a bittersweet feeling about the game.

What are your thoughts on it?

Should I do it by spine, game series, alphabetical, etc? I think the spines look a bit strange when mixed together.

received a fat from a friend, no display over HDMI or AV but displayed super recently for said friend like once and then never again, every time i try to do video reset or hard reset it doesn’t register me holding it down and then registers it later as a second power button press just really really delayed… please help!

I found a loose copy of the God of war omega collection. I think it only came out in South america and it contained all the gow games in 3 discs inside a cool looking steel book with a Kratos statue. I've seen the price going from 45$ for the steel book with the games only and up to 200?$ with the statue included. So when I saw it on Facebook for only 15$ I just grabbed it but the gow 3 disk came with a lot of scratches. I've only had a ps2 and that one rcould take heavily scratched games with no problems but I don't know if ps3 games are different or if it can cause more problems. At least the start of the game seems fine.

All of the new consoles require you to pay for having access to multi-player - the PlayStation 3 does not require that from its players. The idea itself is motivated by pure corporational greed. With the recent out-rage within the gaming community regarding the future of producing physical copies, i believe that the gaming community needs to also address the matter of having free multi-player access.

While i do not support in any way for having to pay for such access, it would be more fair if the corporations would literally allow you to buy time that only deducts as you play.

For instance, assume that you purchase a monthly subscription, however, your life becomes busy and you barely had the chance to play during that month, so you basically ended up wasting your finances for some thing that you did not have time for. The gaming community needs to seriously consider to stop paying for these subscriptions, it may bring an impact if a huge amount of players are willing to participate in that form of protest.

As many of you know the search bar on the PS3 store doesn’t work anymore and I’m having issues accessing the DLC I want to buy for Playstation All-Stars. I’m trying to get a few costume packs I don’t own plus Isaac. When you get to the store page the second half of the DLC list won’t load for me, it always stops after the Kratos avatar, and of course the DLC I want isn’t in the top of the list. When I access the store through the game itself it only loads 19 of the DLC items, again coincidentally none of which are the items I want. Does anyone know of any workarounds for this? The Complete DLC Bundle is $50 which seems kind of insane to me.
