[Try & Keep] Looking for a Bright OLED TV for Gaming? Try the LG OLED G6 65"
Hi r/PS5Pro community!
For PS5 Pro players, a great gaming TV has to do more than deliver a large screen. It needs smooth motion for fast action, visible detail for darker scenes, and enough brightness for HDR gaming, helping highlights feel clear and defined in sharp 4K game worlds.
That’s why we’re collaborating with r/PS5Pro on a gaming focused Try & Keep program.
One (1) Redditor will get the chance to try the LG OLED G6 65" at home, play on it with their own setup, and share honest impressions with the community.
And yes, the selected participant gets to keep the TV. 👍
What makes the LG OLED G6 a strong OLED TV for PS5 Pro gaming?
Console gaming places a range of demands on a display. Fast-paced action benefits from smooth motion, while darker scenes rely on clear shadow detail. Brightness also plays an important role in gaming picture quality, especially when HDR highlights, contrast, and color-rich game worlds need to stay vivid and clear.
The LG OLED G6 65" brings together gaming focused features including 0.1ms response time, 165Hz Refresh Rate, Brightness Booster Technology, Perfect Black, Perfect Color, the α11 AI Processor Gen3, and Reflection Free Premium to help support responsive gameplay and bright, immersive visuals.
Take a closer look at the key LG OLED G6 65" gaming features below.
Ultimate Gaming: speed and smoothness for responsive play
Whether you are dodging attacks, tracking fast movement, or exploring large open worlds, responsiveness matters. The LG OLED G6 65" supports Ultimate Gaming features including 0.1ms response time, 165Hz Refresh Rate, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, and AMD FreeSync Premium to help gameplay feel smooth and fluid.
Hyper Radiant Color Tech: brightness and picture quality for immersive gameplay
Game worlds often combine bright highlights, deep shadows, detailed textures, and a wide range of colors within the same scene.
Hyper Radiant Color Tech helps enhance picture quality with Brightness Booster Technology, Perfect Black, and Perfect Color while preserving 4K visuals with the α11 AI Processor Gen3. For PS5 Pro gaming, that means game worlds can feel more vivid, detailed, and immersive on screen.
Reflection Free Premium: clearer gaming in real rooms
Not every gaming session happens in a perfectly dark room. Reflection Free Premium helps minimize screen reflections from room lights, windows, and bright surroundings, so the picture can stay clearer during daytime or nighttime play.

Lets Go Dawnwalker
Bin ja mal sehr gespannt drauf, zumindest bekomm ich jetzt auch einen Eindruck wie das Spiel ohne Day One Patch läuft und freue mich dann auf den 60 FPS Modus.

VRR makes a huge difference
I've been playing my Pro on an older OLED (Sony A8h, I think) that does not support VRR and I've been pretty happy with it.
Last night I finally got around to hooking up the Pro to my new LG 39" Ultrawide PC monitor and I was shocked by the difference it makes. My TV just really isn't doing this system justice.
So, I guess I have to buy a new TV. 😃 I'll tell my spouse that it's a necessity.

Finally bought Crimson Desert after being on the fence for ages (PS5 Pro early impressions)
I picked up Crimson Desert less than a week ago (it was recently on sale in the UK, might still be!), and I’ve been totally hooked from the first minute. I’ve never really experienced a game with this kind of grand scale. As soon as I started playing, I just knew this was gonna be something I wouldn't be able to put down.
I was on the fence for a long time about buying it because I kept hearing how performance issues plagued the PS5 Pro version. Obviously, it does have its issues. The pop-in is atrocious, and certain things like puddles and shiny surfaces look very, very odd depending on the angle you look at them.
But performance-wise? It does have its drops, but I’m not gonna catastrophise it like everyone else on here seems to do. Like any game, it has its issues, but with my setup, it actually feels insanely smooth most of the time. For context, I’m playing on a PS5 Pro hooked up to a 27-inch 4K Mini-LED monitor.
If you have a good monitor capable of outputting good HDR, definitely turn it on for this game. Try these settings if your setup matches mine!
PS5 System Settings:
120Hz: Enabled
ALLM: Enabled
PSSR: Enabled
VRR: Enabled
HDR: On When Supported
In-Game Settings:
Preset: Balanced
PSSR Sharpness: 80
V-Sync: Off
Fixed 4K Output: Off
120Hz: On
Night Tone Mode: On
HDR Settings: Tweak yourself to suit your screen
Particle Effects: 50
Camera Shake: 0
Chromatic Aberration: Off
Depth of Field: Off
Blur Intensity: Off
Graphically, the game is fantastic. Playing on a Mini-LED, the colours and lighting are super potent. I’m also finding the story really engaging at the moment. I think jumping in right as the new Enhanced version dropped definitely helped, since it expanded on the main questline and added those extra story moments.
If you’re still on the fence about buying it, I’d say just do it. It really does deserve a shot.

The Pro is coming a long way from all the hate it received on launch
It's crazy that now its sold out everywhere and you can only buy the console from scalpers at 1.5k.
When it launched it was pretty hated on because the support was lacking, but Sony and some developers actually made it worth it with pssr 2.0, which was promised at launch but came 1 year later. now with gta6 trailer and hype, its considered the best option but in the past it was the worst. 1 year made a big difference and im happy i made this purchase before all this hype. I made the upgrade from xbox series S in May 2025.

September is the start of a new golden age of gaming. This is the era we've been waiting for.
From this point on, there amazing games coming out almost non-stop, all the way until summer of 2027. You guys already know everything coming, so I don't need to list them, but this is wild, almost like it's 2007 all over again where every gaming publisher is putting out their best work to date. It's an amazing time to be a gamer and I don't think we'll forget that September 2026 was a special month that kickstarted a new golden age of gaming. This is pretty much the new defining era of gaming most of us have been waiting for, we had a little dead air after the new 007 game for a little while, but now we're going to have so many games from here to middle of 2027 that we won't know what to do with them all or how to find the time to play them all. Despite all the hate, negativity, and trolls on here, I hope everyone, even the haters, have the time of their lives and get the chance to really indulge in their favorite hobby because I know that will take the misery away when you get into a new game that lives up to or exceeds the hype. Enjoy yourselves fam

They said I was a fool for paying $700 on the Pro at launch 2 years ago and getting 4TB SN850P at $260 was wasteful
Well, who's fucking laughing all the way to my credit union now?

Grand Theft Auto VI - We got new screenshots!
Rockstar just updated their page with brand-new screenshots! The scale of Vice City and the overall fidelity look next-level. How do you think the PS5 / PS5 Pro will handle performance and ray tracing here?

Sometimes I reminisce on the fact that I paid only around $600 for mine with a discount from AAFES, and that was just 6 months ago

Pulse Elite first impressions + one question
I've been playing World of Warships Legends for quite a while, and for most of that time I didn't really have many people to play with.
Recently I've started making some new friends and getting into division games more often. and that's when I realized:
Apparently, if you want to yell FOCUS THE CRUISER! at your teammates, a TV speaker isn't enough. 😂
I went through a ridiculous number of options and eventually decided to go with the Sony PULSE Elite. My thinking was pretty simple: since I'm on PS5, I figured staying inside the PlayStation ecosystem would probably give me the least amount of bullshit when it comes to compatibility, settings, connection etc.
I went to MediaMarkt yesterday and picked up the W Case version. Got home, set everything up and jumped straight into WoWS Legends.
And honestly... first impressions are really good. the 3D audio actually surprised me. I can clearly pick up things like ship engine sounds, ocean ambience, main battery firing, ricochets...
It makes the whole game feel a bit more alive, and I can definitely tell where some sounds are coming from. then I jumped into a division with the guys. They said my mic sounded clean, and I could hear them extremely clearly as well. So far, zero complaints. pretty happy with the purchase.
Of course, it's been like... one day. 😂 Ask me again in six months when I'm sitting there holding a piece of plastic in my hand wondering where the rest of my headset went.
Which brings me to my question...
I've seen quite a few people on reddit mentioning that the plastic around the area slightly above the ear headband connection can eventually develop cracks. Has anyone here actually experienced this with the PULSE Elite?
I'm particularly interested in people who have been using theirs for 6+ months or 1+ year.
Was it a real issue, or is Reddit just doing its usual thing where three people break something and suddenly everyone owns a ticking time bomb? 😂

Is there Blood of the Dawnwalker PSSR confirmation yet?
Is there any information that they've implemented PSSR for the PS5-PRO yet? Can't seem to find any info anywhere at all yet. Personally I don't think anyone should be allowed to add the PS5-PRO enhanced feature with out it. Or it'd be nice if Sony could add a PSSR badge as well to games so we know for sure before buying. Can be alot of misinformation around enhanced games.

Bought a PS5 Pro 3 weeks ago and gaming is finally fun again
I’ve had my PS5 Pro for about three weeks now and man, I’m so glad I bought this thing.
Gaming is just fun again. Like, properly fun. I’m currently playing the new Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and holy shit, it looks ridiculously good on the Pro.
Honestly though, one of the biggest upgrades for me has been the storage lol. I can just keep downloading games and somehow I STILL haven’t filled it up. Coming from the regular PS5, that alone feels amazing.
I’m just really happy I went for it. There’s so much stuff coming that I’m excited for, especially GTA 6, and knowing I’ve already got the console I want to play all of that on feels pretty damn good.
And I’m even happier I bought it when I did, because apparently you can’t find a PS5 Pro anywhere in Germany right now.
Zero regrets. Easily one of my best gaming purchases in a long time.

UK Latest Victim of Ps5 Pro Stock Shortage
Literally a week ago they were in stock everywhere. I could have ordered 7 or 8 from each of the major retailers (I didn't I just ordered one, not a scalper). Just looked today out of curiosity and now seeing out of stock signs everywhere.
If you're in the UK, now is the time to order before they're gone. Some places do have them still, Argos being one but don't know how much longer.
EDIT: Now out of stock at Argos
EDIT: Playstation Direct has some still for those needing one. Now out of stock
