I’ve had three games recently; two of them ranked, where the red network icon comes up and the game freezes. Eventually the game seems to reconnect, but only my opponent can take turns, where it glitches for me. If it reconnects and I stick around I can eventually hear the move timer run down, then my opponent seems to get to take a turn.
The reason I’m here is because these were all instances where I was on WiFi and otherwise had internet access. Initially I chalked this up to server glitch and moved on, but this last time I wondered if it was something else.
This time I decided to check the battle log and I noticed it says my opponent had disconnected and reconnected. As he was able to play and I was not, I started to wonder if it was some way to manipulate the server to convince me to concede and take the L, as I had been in a pretty good spot on the match up to this point. I did stick around and wait the timer out. My opponent never seemed to take another turn after the one, and the game just sat there, clock on 0:00 so I did then close out and reopen.
So is that possible, or am I just overthinking a random glitch? It’s just frustrating to lose a winning match because of something like this and I just want to know.
the screenshot was taken after they had returned and taken a turn. The game went crazy, as you’ll notice.
Weird, no?
