Thailand cuts visa-free stay to 30 days for travellers from 60 countries and territories

Thailand has revised its tourist visa-exemption scheme, allowing passport holders from 60 countries and territories to stay visa-free for up to 30 days, replacing the previous longer stay permitted under the earlier scheme.

The 60 countries and territories covered are:

Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Malaysia, Maldives, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Türkiye, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Travellers using the visa-exemption scheme through land-border checkpoints will generally be limited to two entries per calendar year. Passport holders from Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Singapore are exempt from this limit, along with other nationalities that may later be designated by the Interior Minister.

Thailand has also introduced a separate 15-day visa exemption for passport holders from Seychelles and Mauritius. Those entering through land borders will generally also be limited to two entries per calendar year unless otherwise exempted.

Meanwhile, passport holders from Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia will be eligible to apply for Visa on Arrival at Thai immigration checkpoints.

The changes mark a significant adjustment to Thailand’s entry rules for international visitors, particularly long-stay tourists who have relied on visa-exempt entry.

Travellers planning a trip to Thailand are advised to check the latest entry conditions before departure, particularly if they intend to make repeated entries through land borders.

Just wanted to share my thoughts about Pattaya difference, last time was 3 years ago if can be interesting for anyone.

I’m mostly using TF. Many ploys I visited last time are still here after 3 years with same photos and same age lol. apologies for yet another hotel question. I’m planning a trip to Pattaya for mid-November. It’ll be my first time there. I’ve read a few guides beforehand so I don't dive into the thick of things looking like a total novice.

I’m looking for a 4- or 5-star hotel ideally central, yet quiet. A nice pool where I can chill out before hitting the nightlife in the evening is also important to me. It needs to be guest-friendly. I don't think I need breakfast or dinner included.

Here are my top picks:

Siam Bayshore Resort (The hotel looks really beautiful, especially with all the trees, but a few people here have mentioned bugs; I’m not sure how "bad" that actually is.)

Amber Hotel (I’ve heard this one mentioned a lot here.)

Arbour Hotel (It has a great infinity pool on the 24th floor.)

I’ve been dating an American guy for about three months.
