Build Question Connecting 4090

I just built a new case and i forgot how to connect the GPU and the CPU to the PSU.

I have:

- 4090 to 3x 8 pin adapter
- 2 cables which have 8pin on one side and 2x 8 pin on other
- 1 cable which has an 8 pin on both sides

I tried with the cpu having the direct one but then the gpu didnt start because it was powered by only 2 8 pins on psu side. im a bit scared and dont want to fry anything. Can someone tell me how this needs to be connected? Thank you so much!

What's your PSU ? the 4090 is a very power hungry card. It needs those 3 connectors, or more preferably, if your PSU has a native 12vhpr connector then that's what you should use.

its a 1000 watt corsair. i have been running thr combo for 3 years with no problem, there needs to be a working way to hook it up.

You should have 3 separate PSU cables at least for your gpu on your power supply, the cables should say either PCIE or VGA on them if they're for your gpu, it should have seperate cables for your cpu, they will not be marked with the PCIE word on them

wont that deliver just two times 150 watts? isnt that way too little?

No they carry 600W. You have to make sure you get the correct one. Type 4 or type 5 depending on your PSU model. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/c/pc-components-accessories/psu-parts

If you don’t have a native 12HVPWR and just the adapter you want three separate PCIe cables, no pigtails for the 4090.
