Tech Support New PC stuck in boot loop
Pc wont POST, yellow dram light is on, has "C1" on mobos 2 digit display before it restarts itself and attempts to boot again
I have tried:
Reseated ram and tried all slots - both one and two sticks
Checked cable connections
Cleared CMOS
Q-flashed mobo with latest BIOS
Checked mobo pins and CPU
reinstalled AIO with less pressure
Not sure what else to try, whats are the odds i need different ram?
PC Specs:
Motherboard - GIGABYTE Z890 AERO G Intel Core Ultra
Cpu - Intel Core Ultra 7 Desktop Processor 265K
Memory - KLEVV FIT V DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz

If you go into your motherboard manual it might tell you what the error code means so you can know what it is or narrow it down

it said failure to detect or initialize ram, i think my ram my be incompatible

Are you certain the ram is seated fully. Try moving it to each slot and then leave it for a bit in each and see if that works

yep i did try all the slots im pretty sure my ram is just incompatible

spec wise the RAM appears compatible. it might just be a bad stick. of RAM. see if you can return it or find a friend with ddr 5 you can borrow to test it.

Where’s the second stick of ram

Adding a second stick inst going to help anything here. Trying the other stick instead of this one might.

Try reset cmos, put the ram in a different slot, try it 🙏🏼

Did you fully take the battery out of the motherboard for at least 5 minutes?

Is your specific RAM on the motherboard certified working list?
2
u/Jk47n 5h ago
it isnt, starting to suspect its incompatible, there is klevv ram on the gigabyte websites page

Yeah RAM sucks these days, I remember when you could easily get the reference memory for your board but now 😑

Had the same issue and the solution was ridiculous. CPU couldn't initialize RAM so i got that DRAM glowing too, and the reason is too low/high cooler pressure on the CPU. If nothing else works - u can try tighten/loosen the screws
Upd: sorry, didnt notice u already tried that lol

Additional steps I’d take is checking the cpu pins to ensure none are bent. Clean the ram slots and ram pins with isopropyl alcohol.

One look and first thing that comes to mind is RAM. Or CMOS battery. Depending on the reboot pattern.

I had this problem with my computer and the only fix I could find was to reinstall the operating system but their might be a better way but that’s what fixed it for me
That’s if you can see the bios menu before the loop

Problem is it's not even booting. I had the same problem before. It's most likely due to newer motherboard being picky with the RAM.

The issue maybe related to RAM but can you try this :
Remove the GPU and try booting with just one RAM stick and the iGPU

Just let it boot loop for about 10 minutes, it might be your RAM training itself.
