Waiting for a Marvel movie in the 2000s to the 2010s and the progression of the Avengers movies where they all came together was a totally different experience.
But post Endgame, there was suddenly a lot of content. And then the next big baddie they were working towards had to suddenly get cancelled. All the series and content we had to keep up with got a bit much
Seriously, my watch progression was Agatha > Multiverse of Madness > Wandavision, I had absolutely -zero- issues following along because Marvel content is extremely basic.
Well it’s still very much a mature and grounded show. Season 1 has some rough patches because the development on it was difficult (idk if you are aware but they basically did a reset in the middle of making it and wrote a few new episodes, brought in a new show runner, directors, etc.) but I still enjoyed it. Season 2 is much more cohesive and influenced even more by the original series, so it’s definitely a step up.
If either of the characters interested me in the least, I would consider it. The shows I did watch were Falcon & Winter Soldier and Loki. Everyone else was pretty whatever to me
The fact that Shuma-Gorath got totally downplayed (and even axed by name because of legal conflicts) was a huge letdown for me. I saw him in the trailer and was absolutely jazzed up. He got all of 15s or so of screentime and was basically instagibbed. Ugh.
Interesting. I went back through everything Disney+ recently and I'd put Wandavision near the absolute bottom. It's just red herring clue after red herring clue being beaten across your face while having to endure the absolute boredom of old style sitcoms to get to yet another fakeout. And, when you know the "twist", the writing absolutely falls apart, huge pieces that make absolutely zero sense.
Please. To understand brand new day, you need to remember a movie from three years ago and a show from five years ago that got picked up in a different show two years ago and it only made sense if you watched the post-credits scene.
People fucking loved brand new day. That "people don't want to watch other content to get the main story" simply isn't true
Spider-Man is in a league of his own when it comes to Marvel, and you didn't NEED to watch Punisher or Daredevil to enjoy Punisher's role in Brand New Day.
Other marvel movies, such as Multiverse of Madness, Brave New World, The Marvels, Quantumania, Thunderbolts suffered more from requiring dozens of hours of homework from the tv shows to understand it.
