FKA Twigs is his ex, so she’s saying while the general public may not know the why behind this, she does because they were together for quite some time. 100% certain that RPatz just did this to fuck with people.

Others have pointed out that FKA twigs was his partner at the time, but I’ll add that she’s an alternative singer with a weird aesthetic. One of her most famous recent hairstyles was a “skullet,” or a mullet with her head shaved in the front. I don’t know if there’s a specific meaning, but the simple answer is that her weird rubbed off on him while they were together.
