USD Looking for phone recommendations — camera is my priority

I’m looking for a new phone around $14,000 MXN (~$800 USD). I was originally considering the Pixel 10 256gb, but the more I look into it, the more complaints I see about things like video quality, connectivity and apps occasionally freezing or stuttering, so now I’m not sure if it’s the best option.

My main priority is the overall camera system, especially photo and video quality across all the lenses, not just the main camera. I’d also like a phone with a good/premium design.

I’m open to both Android and iPhone, and I can wait a bit if there are better options coming soon or prices are expected to drop.

What would you recommend around this price?

The Pixels have performance and stability issues but the cameras WILL deliver especially if you opt for the Pro models. If you value the consistency and true-to-life results, the Pixels are still fair options.

Now more than ever, its a better time to consider a Pixel 10 Pro/XL. Its a substantial bump in stability and efficiency over the 8/9 series and is a sidegrade to the 11's (its such a controversial phone this time...).

Obviously the common camera-culprits are there like the Oppo Find X9, Vivo X300 and Xiaomi 17 series all put major bets on their camera systems. iPhones are also ever so reliable and consistent. Samsung and its Ultras are decent too but they are more modest than the others.

Muchas gracias, si la idea era un pixel pero no me fui por versión pro/XL porque la distribución en México es terrible en cuanto a precio en comparación con USA

If photography is your main concern go for a google pixel 11 pro. I would suggest pixel 11 because they also added some "filters" that are also customizable so you can keep the pixel quality but alter some stuff slightly to match your taste.

P.s. they are not filters, they work during capture and are changing the quality in a way you can't replicate with post processing.

If you're looking for recent phones, I'd recommend

Xiaomi:

  • 17T
  • 17T Pro (if you can stretch your budget)

Motorola:

  • Edge 70 Fusion Plus
  • Edge 70 Pro (just slightly over your budget)

Both the Pixels and iPhones are esim only I think so of course those are options but not my preference

Also the 18 series will have true variable aperture so if you're looking at iPhone I feel it'd be best to hold out for release and a bit of depreciation.

The honor magic 8 Pro might be an option as well if you can stretch the budget a bit.
