Question some posts being labeled as ai modified
i’m an avid pinterest user as well as being someone who uploads video game photography! i’ve ran into an issue as of recently where some of my posts have been labeled as AI modified? as someone who is heavily anti AI, i’m quite frustrated and disgusted because i’d never use such slop for my photography. i don’t understand why or how these posts are being labeled as such and i was wondering if there was any way to appeal or remove that label.

Yeah, this issue happens with almost all of my Pins lol. What’s even funnier is that there isn’t even the slightest filter-like effect on my Pins.
No matter how many times you delete and re-upload them, they still get labeled as AI-generated.

I was so upset when my photos of my fish were labeled as AI modified, I kept searching for a way to appeal but Pinterest just doesnt care enough to actually do anything about it. I ended up deleting the posts, because that is not something I want to be shown on my account and it wasn't true by any means. Pinterest does not get my content if they want to do that shit.

Go to Pinterest Help, scroll down to “need more help?” Click on that, then click on Appeal —> Gen AI. Then fill out the info w/ a screenshot of the pin affected and a link to it.
But yes, half of my art is labeled as “AI modified” when it’s not and it’s such a pain, I hate it

gosh, i’m so sorry that’s awful. i might just end up deleting the posts as well because this is actually absurd. thanks for responding !!

A lot of the photographs I've taken on my trips have gotten labeled as AI Modified. I do significantly edit them to increase the saturation on some of the more milder images to bring out more of an unrealistic vibe to them, so I guess my photos being marked as AI Modified is valid. The appeal process was so annoying as the website kept crashing. It took me an hour to appeal all 10 photographs. Luckily, they are now no longer marked as AI Modified.

I would just like to warn you that the appeal website crashed four times for me. Hopefully you have better luck. If you have raws of your images (like pre-editing if any editing was done) that could be helpful.

The problem is that AI Detection Algorithms will never be accurate and will get less accurate as AI image models improve. the only thing that can be done is some sort of invisible watermark like Gemini does, that would lead to near 100 per cent accuracy theoretically, but even just screenshotting it once or compressing the image is enough to "destroy" the watermark so instead they're relying on pixel patterns, texture, noise etc. to determine whether or not an image is AI
TL:DR; No algorithm is perfect and we can't 100 per cent say if an image is AI detected often times

which i can understand to an extent but if they were so concerned about labeling posts as ai there would be a more thorough system in place, which it isn’t, and that’s why me and thousands of others are in this pickle

I upload my video game photos as well and while you can appeal the label, I’m finding lately they still aren’t removing the tag anyway after their “review” is complete. It’s so frustrating because as soon as they’re labeled ai I also don’t get any views at all on them. Due to that and my photos being stolen from Pinterest to use on Temu I’ve decided to stop posting them there altogether. Hopefully you can find something that works for you.

I have experienced the same. I uploaded the flower image which I took on my morning walk, i find that it was labeled as AI modified. Idk what is happening with Pinterest. Seems like they are updating their algorithm.
